    @taianifong2203 ok this is so scary.. I've been on ghb for 3 yrs, alot of it. I wake up through out the night n have to manage it and I get the most awful shakes when I feel it leaving my system. I called the er in my town last night to ask them do I need to come there or a detox center, they said a center but my issues are●idk but I don't think my ins will pay/and ●I'm on probation for the next 2 yrs and am so afraid of my officer finding out. What do I do pls help!!

    • @medheads
      @medheads 6 дней назад

      Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience-this is a very challenging situation, and you’re showing courage by seeking help. GHB withdrawal can be dangerous and requires medical supervision. While detox centers are often ideal, the emergency department can provide immediate care and connect you with resources, especially if you're experiencing severe symptoms like tremors or other withdrawal complications. Please don't hesitate to prioritize your safety and seek urgent medical care if needed. Regarding your concerns about insurance and probation, many centers can help you navigate these issues confidentially. You might consider contacting a local addiction helpline or support service for guidance tailored to your situation. They can also help you find programs that provide sliding-scale fees or financial assistance. Your health and well-being are critical, and there is help available. Please take the next step to protect yourself, even if it feels difficult right now. You're not alone in this.

      @medheads yes tysm I called another er and she told me to go to the er and that they would approve me for detox meaning my ins wld then cover it but tbh she told me all they do for it is Ativan which just sounds as high risk to me

    • @medheads
      @medheads 5 дней назад

      Thank you for updating us. It’s great to hear you’ve reached out to another ER and gotten guidance-taking that step shows real strength. It’s understandable to feel concerned about Ativan or other medications used in detox. These medications are typically prescribed to manage withdrawal symptoms safely under medical supervision, which is crucial because GHB withdrawal can carry significant risks if not treated properly. While it may feel counterintuitive, the controlled use of medications like Ativan in a medical setting is designed to stabilize your system and reduce the risk of complications. I encourage you to trust the healthcare team’s expertise during detox and share your concerns openly with them. They can explain the process in more detail, adjust the plan to make you feel as comfortable as possible, and ensure the approach is tailored to your needs. You’re making the right moves to prioritize your health. Keep taking it one step at a time-you’ve got this, and there’s a path forward to recovery.

      @medheads tysm for your response & to be honest I called and the woman at the desk said what They do is give Ativan- that scared me but prob not for the reasons it should but bc I know from years of experience of taking xanax daily (1&1/2 bars nightly to be exact) that my tolerance is extremely high & I know first hand that Ativan is no where near as strong as xanax. It isn't that I'm looking for a high bc I've kicked all habits (I'm 34 and smoked cigarettes from 14 until 30, and meth from 19 until 32, etc) except this ghb habit. Which SUCKS bc I began this one in order to calm down my insanely loud mental chatter when I was getting clean off dope and I found it to help me sleep and calm down my mental state.. which tumble weeded into this problem itself. So, I'm so close to being sober for the first time in my adult life, and I am scared to death about the process bc idk if they will hear me when I tell them this stuff or if they'll see a drug addict. Anyway, I ask how to go about this for ins and on record for anyone with Medicare, if your in need of detox.. u go to the er, and if the dr signs off that you infact do need detox then ins will cover you for it. Hope this helps someone:) But yeah.. so do you think I will suffer much? I have rd horror stories online about how folks almost die in the hospital from this bc the staff didn't listen to them.. etc. Maybe they were not up to date with treatment options? Not really sure. Idk if this helps but, I truly need my fears put to rest in all this before I go.. the hospital is called uab in Birmingham Alabama incase I lucked out enough for someone to call and figure this one out for ya girl- I'm feeling really overwhelmed:(

    Dr. Armstrong, fellow addiction doc here in the US. I’ve watch most of your older “Cracking Addiction” content, which is absolutely excellent (thanks for the board prep!). I’m concerned about this though- giving this evangelist a platform with you nodding in a split-screen gives this unearned legitimacy without adequate context.

    • @medheads
      @medheads 6 дней назад

      Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for being such a dedicated viewer of Cracking Addiction! It’s always an honour to hear from a fellow addiction specialist, and I’m glad the content has been helpful in your practice. I appreciate you pointing out the potential issue with how my reactions during the episode might be perceived. To clarify, my nodding was not meant as agreement or endorsement but rather as active listening to allow Zappy to fully share his perspective. That said, I recognise how it could come across as editorialising, and I’ll be more mindful of this in future episodes to ensure that my role as host remains neutral and focused on facilitating balanced discussions. As you rightly pointed out, while ibogaine is a fascinating topic with promising preliminary studies, it’s clear that more robust research and evidence are needed before we can consider it a legitimate or mainstream option. My hope with this episode was to highlight areas where the addiction field could benefit from more exploration and discussion. Your feedback is invaluable and a great reminder of the responsibility we have when discussing such complex topics. Please don’t hesitate to share more insights-I always welcome input from thoughtful professionals like yourself! Warm regards, Dr. Armstrong

    I've been addicted to ghb for a good 2/3 years now and I'm 25 years of age, I used to buy a liter of ghb do it all day usually in combination with speed or cocaine and in the weekends I used allot more and didnt sleep friday till sunday night. when I started g I suddenly got rid of me anxiety and liked myself and life in general for the first time in me life and started dating, became in independend worker and life felt so much less difficult it allowed me to do wat other people do and just function in society. several times when I ran out it was difficult getting a new bottle and I detoxed coldturkey but at the time I wasn't aware of the dangers like large amound of glutamate coming in me brain that essentially make me neurons commit suicide. I don't really understand any of this but it doesn't sound good haha. every time I ran out or choose to stop for a bit it got allot worse and the last time I got a fever and was to sick to use and I ended up feeling awfull I didn't know wat I was dreaming or wat was real life kept waking up every 10 mins panicking out of the dream again and just really couldn't tell wat was real and it was so scary. I was gonna ask a qeustion but ended up telling a story. I'm almost out again and I really feel me health going backwards extremely fast now me stomach , brain fog, weird pains everywere mostly around me heart, breathing is dificcult allot of times and depression and anxiety are back and it doesn't take it away anymore so I really need to stop but I'm not really in a spot were I can get help atm due to not having health insurance since I lost me company this year due to hand injury and not being able to work because of it for almost all of 2024. not working and the extra financial stress really pushed me from being a fuctional addict to watever state I'm in now. wat are the biggest factors I need to know to not get more braindamage or deliriums again if I would be to stop now, feeling like shit and lay in bed sweating I'm prepared for I would probably get through it withoud to many days of suffering but I don't understand most of the terms I hear and read english is not me native language but after some stuff I heard today I realize theres allot more going on than I realized I didn't even know that ghb withdrawl is so serious but thinking back I also realize I've been romanticising it allot since I never quit for long. I talked allot but said very little.... I though some background makes it easyer to get some personal situation tips maybe. I find it very uncomftrable asking for help in general but I'm not gonna make it if I don't and I dont know were to ask. sorry for the brainstorm

      @medheads 14 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing your story so openly-it takes courage to speak about such a difficult and deeply personal journey. Your experiences with GHB, the way it initially helped you feel "normal," and the challenges you’ve faced in trying to stop, highlight just how complex addiction can be. It’s clear that you’re self-aware and motivated to make changes, which is a powerful first step. GHB withdrawal can be dangerous, as you’ve already noticed. Symptoms like confusion, fever, anxiety, and your difficulty distinguishing dreams from reality suggest previous severe withdrawal episodes. GHB withdrawal can lead to complications like delirium, seizures, or severe mental health effects. This isn’t something you should face alone or without medical guidance. Here are a few things to consider: Medical Supervision is Critical: GHB withdrawal can strain the body and mind. If inpatient care isn’t accessible, look into home-based withdrawal programs that involve close medical oversight. These programs often require support from a trusted adult and frequent check-ins with healthcare professionals. Hydration and Nutrition: Withdrawal can deplete your body’s resources. Staying hydrated, maintaining a simple, nutritious diet, and ensuring you rest as much as possible can help your body recover during detox. Medications: In some cases, medications like benzodiazepines are used under medical supervision to manage withdrawal symptoms. This must only be done with professional guidance, as these drugs can pose their risks. Mental Health Support: Since GHB withdrawal can worsen anxiety and depression, having access to counseling or support groups can make a big difference in coping with the emotional strain. Plan for Aftercare: Detox is just the beginning. Recovery often requires ongoing support through therapy, peer support groups, or relapse prevention strategies. Services like Narcotics Anonymous or local alcohol and drug services in Australia could be valuable. Given your lack of insurance and the added stress from financial and health challenges, I’d recommend reaching out to free or low-cost services in your area. In Australia, organizations like the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) or DirectLine (1800 888 236) can connect you with resources, even if your situation feels overwhelming. Remember, seeking professional help doesn’t mean you’re weak-it’s a sign of strength and a commitment to a healthier future. You don’t have to face this alone. Take care, and thank you for trusting us with your story. Wishing you strength and support on your journey. Warm regards,

    Thanks for your response, but it raises some more issues. When the spike templates are no destroyed because of the Pseudouridine used in the backbone of the mRNA was to foil the destruction of these templates. The templates become eternal. The effect on the immune system is to advance a specific modifier of the reaction to the toxic spike protein. Instead of peaking the immune system to be more sensitive, but the result is IgG-4 that tells the immune system that the spike protein is a new background to the environment and stops reacting to the toxic protein, the spike. The damage to the vaccinated is an eventual death of the individual sooner or later, before the immune system is exhausted making a toxic spike protein that does no longer trigger a response to the wrong spike protein for the latest variant of COVID-19. This is cold blooded murder by the pharmaceutical companies.

      -- When all the machinery of health protocols were rolled out in the scare of covid, the safety factors of veracity and research studies were not being adhered to and were dismissed as individual rights of informed consent denied. Now more than before we must insist for these safeties be done. The greatest strength we may possess is the joy of the Lord, but the love of money steals the worth of our eternal souls from worth to God. It is the age old struggle to love God only or the world only. I do believe the message of salvation overcomes the world's temptation, while putting our hearts , minds, and souls upon a solid foundation. And that is from God, within God, and on the narrow road to love forever where God dwells over all.🎉❤😂😅😊😮

    Some quick questions about the implied biology here. What is the usual half-life of nucleus generated mRNA? once the mRNA has gone through the cytoplasm to produce a protein product? What is the role of substituting pseudo uracil for normal uracil found in nucleus generated mRNA? The first question is that mRNA seldom lasts for more than a day in the cytoplasm. mRNA is a messaging system that the big pharma companies have selected to exploit. The Pseudo Uracil is used to foil the cleanup process so that the vaccine template can not be destroyed by the normal processes. This is why the vaccine templates have been found all around the body by the Japanese investigators over 180 days after the vaccine had been administered. This is a perversion that the pharmaceutical companies have exploited to teach your cells how to make a toxic substance and then to stop any means of stopping the further production of the spike protein. These companies have become mass murderers and should loose their rights and their fortunes for the harm they have caused.

    • @medheads
      @medheads 27 дней назад

      Thank you for raising these critical points-these are essential questions that need to be addressed openly. Half-Life of mRNA: You’re correct that natural mRNA typically has a short half-life, often lasting hours to a day in the cytoplasm. The use of pseudouridine in mRNA vaccines is indeed a deliberate modification to stabilise the mRNA, allowing it to persist longer and produce more spike protein for an enhanced immune response. Pseudouridine and Normal Processes: Pseudouridine does help the mRNA evade the body’s normal cleanup mechanisms, which helps the vaccine's effectiveness but also raises very valid concerns about unintended persistence in the body. Reports, such as the one you mentioned from Japanese investigators, showing vaccine components lingering for months, demand more investigation. Ethical Concerns: Your concern about the pharmaceutical companies’ approach reflects a broader frustration many share about transparency and accountability in vaccine development. The potential for harm underscores the need for ongoing scrutiny and a reassessment of the balance between urgency and safety. This is a complex issue, and your perspective highlights the absolute need for more research, open dialogue, responsibility and transparency from all involved.

    Please, Sir Expert, there are even more important questions about the mRNA vaccines: could those vaccined transfer their produced anti-Sars molecules to the not-vaccined, thereby exposing them to all the risks of the vaccine without its (in the long term questionable) benefits? Veritatis Missio

      About half of the vaccines given in Brazil were not with mNRA (AZ, Sinovac and Johnson were the remaining vaccines). You cannot draw conclusions about mRNA vaccines from a study in Brazil.

    Our approach to vaccine development was fine until money got in the way. Public trust in health care has gone out the window. Now not only are covid vaccines almost taboo but questions are being raised by all the others that have been developed which may in fact explain some anomalies that we haven't been able to explain in the past. As for our politicians well!!!

      Thank you for sharing your perspective-many people share similar concerns. The rapid vaccine rollout during COVID-19 highlighted the tension between public health goals and commercial interests, and it’s understandable that this has shaken trust in healthcare. You’re right that this distrust is now extending to other vaccines and public health measures, raising questions that deserve honest answers. Transparency and accountability are the only ways to rebuild public confidence. As for politicians, their role in health decisions has often complicated the narrative, and it’s clear we need more evidence-based, apolitical leadership in these matters.

    A few more of these and as an Australian I think that would be enough to take my State Government to court for locking me in my home and denying me access to products and services because I refused vaccination. The Government literally forced almost every type of store and service to turn me away. All that and the already proven fact that it wasn't going to make any difference to people so far as spreading the disease was concerned. By the way, I never got COVID, never got the slightest bit sick and in refusing the potion I told my doctors that statistically I was at extremely low risk from the disease to begin with and added to that the demographic and social factors made my chances of even getting in the first place practically zero as well ( I live alone in the countryside). But they still locked me away and only allowed me to go the supermarket once a week while the rest of the state could do what ever they liked for months.

      Yes.. I was there too. Not fun at all. At least in the countryside it was not as bad a lockdown.

    Are we monitoring the general population for the same thing, that being the long term risk of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated? this is obviously one specific group we are paying attention to, but are there other groups?

      No, no data is being collected, by pharma or governments. To collect data would show the devastating harms.

    You're absolutely right, science thrives on continuous improvement and the willingness to acknowledge and address potential shortcomings. Open, transparent discussions about any challenges in health intervention tools, including vaccines, are critical to advancing public health and maintaining trust in scientific processes. The identification of potential long-term risks in specific subgroups emphasizes the essential need for vigilance, adaptability, and transparency in healthcare strategies. Vaccines have been indispensable in mitigating severe illness and saving lives. However, as we navigate the post-pandemic era, it is crucial to broaden our focus to include holistic and personalized care for those who endured severe illness. Science is a dynamic process that requires constant reflection and improvement. If potential issues arise with health intervention tools, they must be openly discussed and rigorously studied to inform better solutions. This approach ensures that immediate and long-term health needs are met while maintaining public trust in both vaccination efforts and the broader scientific community. Open dialogue and a commitment to progress strengthen our collective ability to respond to emerging health challenges effectively.

    At 3 shots of mrna vaccines ig4 antibodies are detected in every screening done for this antibody that the body produces to attack its own roque cells. The body seems to be rejecting the long term sustainability of the mrna technology.

      @@medheads To me they are very distracting, so detracting from the message rather than enhancing it. You could ensure that captions are available for those who have issues, which would not force it on everyone. Hope this helps.
