MSR Houston (CW) Narrated Lap Guide
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.Год назад
DISCLAIMER I make these videos for my mom. There are probably better sources on RUclips for narrated lap guides! But thanks for watching regardless! The car is a 1985.5 Porsche 944 that is built to SP1 (Spec 944) rules.
Not my greatest race... | NASA Eagles Canyon 2021

This was a tough one! An early mistake put me in the wrong place at the wrong time. The driver of the little red car didn't even know what happened. Fortunately, it's a lot easier to fix race cars than it is to fix people. The radiator, valance, and (most importantly) the front sway bar got all kinds of messed up after that near miss and sadly I had to come in early. On to the next one!

A new course that's long, scary, and PINK! Putting that new rear sway bar to work with everyone's favorite Miata :)
Smacking cones in the ‘yata! SCCA Autocross

Took the Miata to its first autocross! Not my fastest attempt but probably the warmest one. My fastest time was 59.6 which isn’t great but I was the fastest Miata! Back for round two tomorrow and I swear I’m have a better go-pro setup.

Here is an older clip of me being stuck behind another car during a qualifying session. Should I have just slowed down and made a gap? Yes. Did I? Not exactly. Better content coming soon.
My Graduation Slideshow!

A little look back through the last 18 years of my life just in case you missed graduation or just want to see it again. Also The Orchard Music, WMG copyright claimed this lol sorry for the ads.
Thank you!
Excellent info Ian! My first CCW at MSRH is Sep 21-22. Looks funner than CW.
Thanks! I did a couple o track days here 5 yrs ago. Doing PCA here first of April. I’m going to watch this about a hundred times b4 that! I’ve done COTA twice back then and last month, and this makes so much more sense now. Back side of the esses, carrying throttle thru sweeper after short straight… starting to make sense.
Good walkthrough Ian! CCW is definitely my favorite way to run MSR Houston and this had some good tips that I'll be trying out this weekend - Reagan (your significant other's cousin)
This is the dopezt channel I've ever seen .
Great video! There is so much to that track. Super fun.
Is this CW or CCW, and is this 1.7 msr cresson?
Thanks!
Awesome tutorial! 🙏
Nice video Ian. I'm a Motorsport lover of all things and recently took my first ever track day at MSR Houston with a personal friend/one of the instructors there. Drove an AMG C43. Great job explaining. Wish I had recorded my lap like this. Hopefully one day I am back and driving something similar!
Funnily enough. This video was uploaded on my birthday, the same year I drove my first track day at the circuit. Very weird coincidence.
Great job Wish you went the other way Wonder how different it would be
sorry for taking so long to see this but the clockwise video for this track is up on my channel!
Nicely commented!
Just did Track Sprints there and also my first time there and wasn't too sure on the downshift points and braking points on the track but after watching this, I know now. Good stuff. Can't wait to go back to MSRH.
Great job Ian! I love how you step thru your strategies on cornering. I didn't realize how complicated the handling is on that track.
Thank you for taking the time to teach the track! I just moved to Houston and will be getting myself to MSR. I have no track experience so do you teach in person? Thanks!
No, thank you for watching! I will be there the first weekend of April with Porsche Club of America to hopefully get my instructor certification! I would love to see you on track!
Sorry about how choppy this video is! It was a rough race weekend with lots of mechanical problems, and college stuff means I don’t have near enough time to polish this video.
Okay I didn’t use my camera on the second day soooo you guys are gonna get a blooper reel instead.
