Crystals of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, King County Washington
Under the sponsorship of @Crystalholics Anonymous, we recently had the opportunity to dig on one of his private claims up the middle fork Snoqualmie River. For us, it was a memorable experience we will never forget!
If you’re interested in any of the specimens from Washington State’s King County Middle Fork region
and/or any other of his other claim localities, be sure to check him out here:

Collecting Picrolite

Picrolite from Snohomish County. We initially thought this to be an asbestos mineral. The geologist that wrote about this occurrence also thought the same until lab results proved otherwise. Its appearance looks like Chrysotile, but it's not.

Large Barite Crystals Found In Southern California
Просмотров 3238 месяцев назад
Countless numbers of prospect pits and trenches are present near Barstow and the Calico Mountains. I happened to scramble down into one of these pits and discover a significant amount of larger Baryte crystals. Many of these were cleaved however. Barite is a heavy yet soft mineral (Moh’s scale 3-3.5) and has a brittle tenacity. Extracting higher grade specimens from this pocket was challenging.

These are the challenges we face when trying to keep our vintage machines in operat...

    • @vugmeister918
      @vugmeister918 2 месяца назад

      But a rake serves a dual purpose with no need to carry an extra screwdriver. A rake is handy for combing through stream bed gravel (when allowed in accordance with gold pamphlet rules), and as shown in the video, for prying loose the agates that are stuck in a road bed. Cant comb through stream-bed gravel with a screwdriver. Really the only situation I carry a screwdriver is when I anticipate prying crystal plates loose from a cavity or vug in the mountains.
