I saw a clip of this show five days ago and I've already rewatch it for FOUR TIMES like it literally like air and I basically need to rewatch this every single days🥲ITS TOO GOOD🥲also some of the translation there feels weird bc I watched it w chinese subtitles and I feel like this does happen sometime when it's japanese -> english because some things r just, i guess hard to translate hahahahaha (especially the "seduce" part, it's so funny... I think it's more like he is saying that he is trying to show he's nice and wanting to spend more time w him, just things in general that show how he's a nice person so maybe Nozue will be attracted to him). I wish there's a better translated version...but your reaction is literally so real hahahahahaha, i have to try SO HARD not to scream when im watching the kissing scene🥲🥲🥲so sweet

Just want to say thank you for your wholesome reaction! It's nice seeing more people reacting to this wholesome show. Can't describe how much i loved this show, it's truly one of a kind. Characters are so amazing, flawed like real ppl but also show beautiful growth. In the end this show is about a family which can be anything or anyone that brings you peace.I really loved how they showed all different kinds of families: whether it's Harumaki, Chizu with her son and Teppei's family, Choko and Maro, Shingen and Takegawa, Kiku and Izumi and finally our beloved Chief with everyone. It's such a joy to watch a show that cares about its characters and everyone from the cast to production truly cared about making such a genuine, beautiful show. The comedy, drama, acting, cinematogrphy, music,just everything chef's kiss. I watched this show when I was going through hard time , and it honestly healed me. It will always take a special place in my heart.

Epic sad ending JBL series

I watched the Hong Kong version of this film. This film has a sad ending in my opinion. Musashi Kurosawa (in the Hong Kong version his name is KK) has struggled a lot and sacrificed many things. But unfortunately at the end of the film he doesn't marry Haruta (in the Hong Kong version his name is Tin).

on one point i felt sorry for the Takegawa, on another point it was so hilarious, like what did he expect after the omutsu partner 😭. Ossan's love is one of the few shows that excels at perfect balance of comedy and drama , wish more ppl reacted to this. Thank you for your reaction!

The actor who plays Kiku was a great addition to this show. When I was a kid, I remember binge watching all jdramas with this actor cause he was so good looking. Was so mad that he played many second male leads haha

Welp welcome to the back half of the series! All aboard the pain train. Really do love the parallels between the teachers and our main couple. At first when they introduced the teachers, I wasn't sure why, but this episode really solidifies the purpose of showing us their relationship. Mitchan better than me because if I ran into that truck driver, oh he'd probably be needing a breathing tube - good thing they're at a hospital lmao. Jokes aside, Mitchan's restraint in that entire scene was amazing but since we heard his inner monologue, we know that he was doing everything in his power to refrain from offing the truck driver. You're definitely right - I do believe that he's in the stage of his grief where he is angry and frustrated - it's all over his face in this episode with everything happening (Koichi being invisible to others and running into truck-kun's driver). That scene outside the hospital with the back hug got me all teary eyed. I can definitely relate to you in regards to feeling okay right after watching something sad but taking a day or so the get all the emotional whiplash. This happened to me with My Tomorrow Your Yesterday (and if you have yet to watch it, I highly recommend). I was okay right after watching it but come the next morning I felt all the sadness that came with the ending of the movie. I think it's worst that way - that's why I refer to it as emotional whiplash lmao.

I would say that episode 7 is a little bit lighter than episode 6, (i can't reveal the full details, but there is a line there between Mitchan and their friend Kagamiya that left a message for those who are experiencing loss)

I remember watching this episode and having the same reaction as you having called that the two teachers were together. Like that scene introducing us to them in episode 2 was super fruity lol. As an only child I could definitely relate in a sense to Mitsuru when he had his inner monologue during the scene with Koichi’s family. Also when Koichi mentioned them being adults, I absolutely lost it. This is truly where the pain comes in - it’s that feeling of inevitability and how time seems to be running out or is extremely limited between our two best boys. This is why the feeling from episode 5 onwards is a feeling of sadness and melancholy and pain. To be honest the latter half of the series (episode 5-8) is a bit of a blur to me, only because I was in my feelings watching the rest of the show - like its sadness disguised as happy go lucky moments 😭😭😭 And you are right to skip the ending song for this episode - it will make you more sad. But for the final episode, I suggest you watch the ending song completely to experience all the feels in full 😭😭😭 - BRB need to watch the rest of your reactions to Old Fashioned Cupcake so I can have some comfort 😂

When he said "then pay me with your body" I had the exact same reaction! 😂 I was like ... SIR!? WHAT DID YOU SAY!? I bet Nozue enjoyed it when Togawa got all flustered. I mean I would too lmao. You are not the only one when you say that this show makes you look goofy, because SAME!! That whole cooking + eating scene had me so giddy. It was so cute and fluffy, and the way it played out had me laughing the whole time. There were so many innuendos in the dialogue that I couldn't keep a straight face 🤣 From the constant checking of the phone and watching the video he took of Togawa, Nozue is so down bad haha. And I just know Togawa was panicking on the inside when Nozue said to stay the night. The whole key thing got me confused the first time I watched it but I was glad it was nothing weird or malicious haha.

Your reactions are always really good and for this one in particular it was super hilarious. You got me laughing a lot. Also I feel so called out especially when you mentioned the white undershirt and how compliments stay in a guy’s mind forever - that’s me in a nutshell 😂 This couple is literally one of my comfort couples, they’re both so good for each other 😊

I had the same reaction as you in the beginning. I was so cheesed and thought they baited with us with a kiss ... but then we got that intimate bed scene hahah. Yes I agree, Koichi's actor (Rio Komiya) is very versatile ... he's pretty young too and I think he has a great future ahead. I also agree with you that a parent and how they raise their children can really influence their personality and outlook on life. Because Mitchan's mom was so strict, it really molded him to be the reserved, quiet and loner that we see (his bluntness in this episode was actually pretty funny tho). It only took our sunshine boy Koichi to slowly turn that around. And if I can recall what Mitchan said in episode 1 (I believe) that he had a wall around him, and Koichi was the one who not necessarily broke those walls but opened a door (the way he said it was more eloquent that how I wrote it - but you know what I mean lmao 🤣). As always, I really enjoy your reactions and insights to this drama! 😄

As promised, I'm finally getting around to watching and commenting to your other reactions. 😃Really love this couple as well and I'm the same way, I really enjoy dramas/bls that are with older characters. Like you said, it's very domestic! Funny you mentioned cherry magic since there is a lot of similarities (ie. office drama and the pining from one of the couples). I also love the food they feature in this drama, makes me hungry all the time.

When you said in the beginning that this episode is all fluff, I was like … those are some famous last words. Yup based on last episode where Mitchan says there was only one time that Koichi scared him, it was their fight in this episode. And you are so spot on with Mitchan (Sora Inoue) having such a nice soothing voice. It’s perfect that this drama has him narrating and giving us his inner thoughts. Some stray thoughts that I had while rewatching this was … I don’t know why but for some reason, Koichi (Rio Komiya) reminded me a little bit of Keita Machida (Kurosawa in Cherry Magic) in certain angles - it’s probably the hair lmao. 😂 More on that fight scene. The acting between the two was really good, it gave me chills and it really solidified for me that this drama was gonna be one of my top favourites.

Actually, the extreme pain will start on episode 5. Next episode is gonna be steamy 😂 Based from the novel, it's like Mitsuru is thinking that Koichi is straight, and Koichi is his only one friend, that's why he is afraid to break that friendship, that's why he is holding back

Rewatching with you I’m simply amazed how the narrative recreates the stages one goes through - from shock to acceptance and this is exactly mirrored in the viewers experience of this drama. Also I’m noticing how much Mitsuru’s journey of self discovery as well as the growth of his love and attachment to Koichi happens After “the accident”. That’s why Koichi’s being with Mitsuru during that whole process is so loving it just transcends us to another plane of understanding; so the feeling you get isn’t sadness but hopefulness - because BL is supposed to be a narrative of Hope! And it applies to any sexuality. They’ve done such a fantastic job with this drama and I wish people wouldn’t just undersell it on the loss part but the self discovery, the self acceptance, the simply transformative nature of love, and all in all - the hopeful part about loving and being loved 💕
