The solar panel on a composting toilet runs a fan that helps w evaporation and breakdown of solids. Gases are vented odor free into the air. You get a chemical and septic system free eco friendly outdoor toilet that is used in fragile environments.

Puccinia monoica! It’s a parasitic rust fungus that inhibits flowering in host plant, and uses it for its own reproduction.

Aw, my dog (pug)was named Duke as well. We had to put him down a few years ago at age 16. Still miss him. Maybe they are buds over rainbow bridge. 🌈

I am a little late to comment here, but I wanted to thank you for showing this trail in such detail. I’m an older beginning hiker who’s a little queasy about heights. I’ve hiked Potato Mountain, Baldy Notch, and Ice House Canyon to Cedar Glen. I’d like to get used to the idea of hiking on an exposed ridge line before I tackle one of the bigger peaks. I think this hike would fit the bill. Exposure without being too scary.

thx for the vid. is there a way to continue on buzzard peak rd towards the forest lawn cemetary. on google sat looks like a gate but seems u can walk around the gate to evergreen dr and eventually vesper rd. can u please confirm?

This is the first really good view on the PCT, after leaving Mt Laguna. It’s when you really feel like you’re hiking across mountains.

Crazy to see you guys back down this far. I first saw you as you and three others were making your way from Barrel Springs to Eagle Rock over a month ago. Wow! Hope Billy's knee gets better.
