Love your videos! Thanks for the shout out. I really enjoyed the "Awesome" picture of you and my brother 😀 Many happy trails to you. Greetings from Alaska!
On Denali, we did all our cooking and water melting in the vestibule, and that was with a white gas stove. I used to see a lot of climbers, in harsh conditions, cooking in their tents. You just have to be careful.
That downed power line was down last year when we hiked NOBO thru there. So sorry that you went the wrong way to start your hike, although it did make me laugh a little!
Nice to see another video from you. Now you only have another low mountain range to go ver into Agua Dulce and Acton. Then decision time as to what to do next.
@@Awesome_hikes you’re welcome for the tips. I made a video on my channel for the hike to Calamity. We actually made it all the way up to Greater Calamity Peak on the 4th try. It was awesome because the top was covered in deep snow and we just walked over the top of the manzanita section covered over with snow.
That dirt bike area is called "Bean Canyon", made famous by where Bob Hannah learned to ride his dirt bike. He went on to become one of the greatest dirt bike racers of all time. Anybody who follows motocross racing knows who he is.
Another excellent video. Making it work! I thought when the video started that "wait that's NOBO!" 😁 Good thing you figured that out pretty quick. It's cool to see the SOBO perspective. I'm looking forward to what comes next!
Some plants I can greet like an old friend, others are harder to figure out. I have a purple apps I use, and if I make a mistake others have been helping me learn in the comments.
Thanks for posting your adventure. I appreciate your posting and narration of flora. You mentioned looking up plants. What resources are you using to do that from trail?
I make coffee in the am in the vestibule. The side effect is that the heat warms up the air in the tent (a little) so its not crazy cold when I get dressed. Just saying. Have fun!

And you get it exactly. Once I hit there I have a few options. Gonna take a few days off and make it then. That’s future Awesome’s problem 😂
Thanks.

Thank You for your Support!
Congrats on reaching 1000 subscribers! Glad you found a safe alternative to keep doing sections of the PCT while the snow is melting

Welcome back! Great to watch your progress heading south. How far south do you intend to go?
Acton. Then take a few days off and figure out the next move from there.

Ohhhh no, I’ve heard of a few destroyed tents this year already. One in that spot again.
