Is it better to travel with USD or CAD from Canada to Cuba?
@@omalyn2081 great question! It actually doesn’t matter but I prefer USD because if you bring USD it’s easy because everything is priced in USD (shopping, tours, eating out, etc) so you don’t have to ask anyone to give you the CAD conversation and USD allows you to bring smaller bills like $1 bills for tipping. The folks in Cuba don’t like to get Canadian coins because they can’t use them so if people give them coins once they have enough, they will ask another Canadian if they can exchange them for bills.
Im watching halfway through but haven't heard about using credit or debit cards
This is maddenly too fast. And I can't find how to slow it to a slower (eg.1/2?) speed. I'm interested in living in Mendoza; but this is a frustrating video. Please redo, slowing the changes of images. Thx.

Hi Asya, Regarding the SIM card. I plan to stay in a Airbnb. I'll be working. Does this exhaust the data quickly? What do you recommend?
@@anthonymedina4969 yes unfortunately depending on how much data you purchase but from what I remember I think like 8gbs is the most you can purchase then you have to top up. Its best to use the wifi at the Airbnb (hopefully the Airbnb has decent wifi) and if its too slow it drops out if you really need then use your data. Unfortunately the internet is not good in Cuba. I’ve tried to work also while in Cuba using the hotel wifi and it was good in certain areas but sometimes can cut out on you then you gotta try to login again. Hope that helps!

Amazing and helpful video. Thank you. Can you use hotspot from your iPhone and give internet to other iPhones? Local people told me that you can’t and this is so strange ..
@@DinkoPopov thank you so much! 😊 unfortunately I never tried that. Last few trips I stayed on wifi only and on airplane mode. A few other times we bought the Cuban SIM cards that gave us data calling and texting but never did the hotspot.

What about if you only bring cash do u keep it with you at all times ? Or hotel safe cause u need to bring enough for ur holiday. Thanks
@@VincentBullion yes, we always bring enough cash we think we will need for the trip. Some places do accept credit cards but it’s always better to enough more then enough cash then not enough and then your cards don’t work. All hotels have a safe so I wouldn’t recommend carrying all the cash on you. Keep in the safe and take what you need for the day when you’re out.

@@angeliclight-h8h yes there is plenty of bottled water never a shortage of that but don’t know if it’s spring water. The hotels I recommend are the Kempinski in Havana & Royalton Hicacos and Melia Las Americas in Varadero
How is the food in cuba can you find grilledfish not fried ?

As an American, almost every activity, every shop and hotel, the lounge and the “gov” lady assisting at the airport are illegal. I imagine every one of there, because they are higher end then the peoples ability to provide space and food, are supporting the Cuban Government

Hi very helpful- i just got back from a 9 day visit to Havana. Aug 22-31 2024. Stayed at the Iberostar Parque Central. I flew in and out of Varadero airport. The VIP lounge cost 50 $ Cad. There was no lady ushering me around and the free wifi is now 30 minutes.

Hello, thank you very much for the video. I just want to understand this: Would it be enough to give 1-2 dollar paper money to hotel employees or drivers (except waiters)? I thought it would be 5 dollars, but I am thinking of giving it as 1 dollar, if it is not too little, in order to provide tips to more people. Thank you very much
@@dilaraalptekin3579 thank you! Great question. I would says $1-$2 if you’re having a coffee or a drink but if your having a full lunch or dinner I would tip $5-$10 depending on how much the bill was. For drivers i would say depending on the distance.

@@SMR294 you will Iove it but it’s hard to say which is cheapest. You’ll have to search online. If you’re in Canada Trip Central is a good otherwise try Trip Advisor as well. I like Melia Las Americas it’s an adult only hotel and the price is very reasonable.

E visas started in march tirel periord dont know if you need one still i went 7 weeks ago with travel card got it at madrid airport with insurence 75 euros travel agent up stairs next to chemist shop dep Havana airport has no transport from airport to city cost 40 usd you might get it for 30
Has anyone played any golf on the course next to this hotel?
@@joescopo8933 a friend of ours only stays at the Melia Las Americas because he is a golfer and really enjoys playing golf at the course. He says he would give it a 4.5 out of 5. He says the course and greens are beautiful and it’s not an easy golf course to play but the only negative was some of the fairways are not as green. Hopefully that helps you!

@@M5Cs-r4x yes it’s good. It’s hurricane season technically but it may rain but not a lot. November December and January are not good because you may get caught in non stop rain and cold. I went in December one year and it rained the whole 10 days and it was cold. But September you will have better weather

Thank you so much! Everyone accepts Euros as well as US dollars. Having US dollars is better because you have the $1 bills and can make it easier for tipping but it really doesn’t matter because Euros are accepted. I would say bring a little of both. Have a great trip!

Hi Liliana, yes I would say so. It’s the best way to have the freedom to go where you like and visit all the wineries and anything outside the old historic part. The old historic part is very walkable but if you’re going outside of that then yes
