My custom equipment is for my use only, if you make it, you assume all risk. I’m just an average person working out and doing diy as my hobby. The diy and reviews I do are out of curiosity and a need to replicate equipment I don’t have or equipment I want. All of my custom work is done using basic tools.

Diy seated calf raise and lat pull down bar!!
Great setup… never thought to use the xrs20 like that.
It’s a game changer for me. Makes me think twice about replacing the bench.
Does that adjustment work better for curls.
I think so. I can’t stand the bar it came with.
No step on snek
No step
So I moved again and meant to turn this knob right side up. I looked at the box. I didn’t but for me that’s ok. This is now being sold as a set.
Great video! How is this at the negative stage? Does it lose resistance during the negative stage or does it maintain it?
With the nylon cables it feels consistent. Just depends on your control of the movement. I’m not bothered by it though.
What are the straps you're using??
@@darrennewenhouse7334 they are called hammock straps. They didn’t have the same hole placement on each strap so it may be uneven when you lift. Or you can buy two sets to correct it.
Does facing away work more quads?
Not that I noticed, but this was from two years ago. I’ll do a follow up to this eventually.
@@ironhallgymlet me know
Try attaching the pulleys to the lever arms, works great! I had some clips on my channel. Great combo
I’ve done that before. It’s great for chest and lat work. Thanks for the comment.
Love the flag brother! Texas forever! Thanks for the review.
No problem. Thanks for the comment.
So you bought the new one where???🤔
@@lots3799 I made it boss. Hopefully some company will collaborate with me.
I want to buy this Titan Fitness Landmine Pivot Attachment at ($34.99 July 8, 2024), *But just want to know if you actually still use it? Also, what do you do with the second one that they send you? PS, I have the same F.R. Rack as you, mine is holding up well, ever since the good ole' Covid dayz : (
@@ProflexFitness hey. The pin and pivot landline attachment sadly doesn’t get used much. But in my next gym it surely will. It’s all about space. If you have the space it’s awesome.
@@ironhallgym I just received mine today: 7/21/24 and I already got 2 different size PVC pipes for the Landmine Pivot Attachment to ride on without too much gap and then I got another 2" PVC and cut it to ride along each side of the Attachment so it will stay centered. The 2 - 2" PVC pipes that are showing will be painted Black with Blue stripe, to match my home gym color scheme : )
same flag in my workout area :). I am about to swap out my 2x4 DIY pulley with a real system (either the setup you have or the BOS AllInOne). Your wall looks better than mine, you have some drywall and wood, I just have my cinder blocks. Lift on!
@@jttasbBoS is the way to go for home gyms. And I love that flag it’s a main stay in my gym. I’m sure your wall looks cool. Especially when you add to it. Cheers!
Carpenter skills keeping you big as hell
Thanks. Some people don’t like this idea but everyone that’s tried it has been put through their paces.
My adjust pin sticks bad. Anyone have this issue?
Sometimes mine does too. Clean it or use spray?
'Promosm' 😅
No thanks
No it's a 2x4
It’s a 2x4 with another half of a 2x4 for handles and an eye bolt used for work. In this case as a tricep attachment.
How safe is failure
I wouldn’t do this workout to failure but I did I think I’d be ok. Others. Probably not. I have safety bars for this squat rack but I just didn’t use it.
Hey man, thanks for the review. I'm debating on that set up myself. The Bells towers or Get RX'd. I have a Bells Brute rack and lever arms and more already so it makes sense. Except they're short...Get Rx'd are a foot taller . So, your info is helpful for this home gym stuff. Plus, you have some unique things ive seen on your videos.
I appreciate your comment. The lever arms are suited for these. I don’t like how loose the handles get when I put weight on the horns but other than that. They are solid. I’d switch to all bells if I could to stay with the ecosystem. You just have to get used to the plate horns scratching when you apply weight. Let me know what you decide to do. I’ll be building more diy starting next year. Just need to do my set up.
is there a way to load 1 inch plates on this machine? i have 400lbs in 1 inch plates and dont want to buy 2 inch plates lol. are the weight horns 1 or 2 inch. if 2 can it be modded for 1?
Great question. It has two inch plate holders on it. But Titan fitness has a short plate loaded tower that’s similar. Not sure if Bells of steel has one that is one inch plate compatible. Hope that helps. The eco system for each will be different though.
@@ironhallgym yea i seen that one but the bellsofsteel one is much nicer and very expandable. i may just order 1 inch horns and / cut weld them on.
Gotta get some gym mats bro.. Would for sure get that first before any other equipment
I’ve had the gym for a while. If you see my new videos I did get some. I’ve also dropped bumper on metal for months and had absolutely no issues. Not my weights at that time though.
I’m just glad you didn’t bust your face with a 2x4
It’s really durable. I’ve had it for a few years now. No problems.
Option 2 is dope but I don’t have the room for that right now.
I can’t wait to have a basement gym again. I had more room there.
This is awesome. I have some DIY shit in my garage like this.
Do you have videos of it?
@@ironhallgym no but I can upload some
@@AP2brolic that would be cool to see
Barbell incline with slow eccentric until it touches the outside of my shoulders. Full chest tearing stretch. My favorite.
That’s another good one
My sister has that same shirt!
That’s cool, it’s nice shirt super comfortable
This seem significant more complicated than a cable. Also the ROM for pullovers seem extremely limited
It’s a pretty easy set up. A bolt. A figure eight strap and a tricep rope with carabiner. The rom was ok. Not as good as a machine, but if someone’s limited they could try this. I’m not but that’s why I make some of these videos.
I mean when the attachment weighs just as much as the weight, things are pretty easy.
I have roughly 30 pounds on there none of those attachments way over 3 pounds
That last attachment was pretty cool though…
I made that one a few years ago.
Now try it with some weight.
I have. You just gotta see my other videos. This was more of a warm up/cool down. Thanks for both comments!
I will.
Don’t sit all the way back. Look at a video from squat university on this
I’m familiar with them. Look up Wenning Strength. That’s where I got this idea from. I’d trust him a little more.
@@ironhallgymyeah I can’t argue with what looks to be a strongman. But the way you sat back on on the pad looked disgusting because if you notice at the bottom position it almost looks like butt wink. The way I look at this exercise is that your supposed to explode up while keeping your core tight. But idk much about box squats bc I haven’t done much of it
@@nosey5465 yea that could be the case. Also I’m going lower than a normal box squat would be. This is at 8-10 inches tall where my regular box would be 16 inches. So all I was essentially doing is trying to get out of a super low squat position. Appreciate it though.
Thank you for this review. I just purchased a Bells of Steel plate loaded Functional Trainer. Could you tell me which brand and size lever arms you bought? It’s been a headache trying to find some compatible. Thanks.
Same brand lever arms from bells of steel.
what nah bruh
What
"Let's see how much weight my tricep block can hold" = "Watch me work out. Yup, I can do a set with 120lb on it"
Or maybe it’s to show that wood and an eye bolt are durable enough to have a working weight of 120 lb = something I’ve never tried before.
I’ve always found it more comfortable to grab onto corners that are blocky rather than bars, keep going brother, looking great. God bless 🙏🏻
I appreciate it. This block is one of my favorite tools. I didn’t realize I could go this heavy with it.
On Walmart, they had a crazy deal from BalanceFrom for 370 lbs of bumper plates for $370.
I remember that deal. Maybe it’ll be back in a few months.
@@ironhallgym I just bought it. Can't beat the price and can always use more plates in the home gym.
Walmart right now has 370lb BalanceFrom aka Everyday Essentials Olympic bumper plates set for $299.99
Update: Two years later. I still use these almost every week.
those swivel links only have a max load of 105lbs based on the packaging you have in video. I have the bells of steel cable tower stack that goes up to 210lbs. I don't think that's very smart if you're pulling around 200lbs with 1:1 ratio. tricep exercises are fine with light loads but plenty of people can do lat pulldowns with 150lbs+ with 1:1 ratio on cable towers. People really should look at the max load ratings for carabiners and links for their cable gym machines. Very dangerous. The cable tower is only as strong as its weakest link.
Yea. I don’t ever go heavier that 40-60 pounds with them. I read that on the package too. I have some weird math in my head that the other links can hold about 160-200 lb and it will all work out. I’ve used the chains for about three years. No issues. Thanks for the comment 🙏🏻.
I agree. I’d only use them in light loads for tricep and maybe bicep work. Hope you have a great day and an even better weekend.
@@ironhallgym Good to know. just wanted to bring awareness to other people to look at the max load ratings for their carabiners/links for their cable machines. I went to the hardware store after I bought my cable tower and there were so many selections with various max load ratings. some open gate carabiners and swivel links look beefy and thick but in reality only has a max load rating of around 100lbs. For example some of the cheap flimsy carabiners can't even hold the weight of a water bottle. I think max load lb rating translates into weight stacks 1:1 given a 1:1 ratio in the cable machine but then again I wasn't great in physics class.
You’re correct. It’s what I looked at when buying these. If someone goes and buys their own it’s probably best and over kill to get this highest rated ones. No problems yet. Just have to know your equipment. Speaking of which. I just got in the Rogue Ohio bar E coat. So check me out to get my take on that too.
I like the ropes I just have to ignore the fact that this gym from 2018 somehow has the combined sweat of 50 years of training baked into every fiber
Thanks…I think?
Hardware doesn't come with the cable towers?
You get the connector to allow the two cables to work together and two d handles.
And the screws you have to buy after market to mount to the wall. But they recommend a company for it.
Call it whatever, and use it for whatever.
I guess so. I also sold it for $40 ‘cause it was in my way.
You got the adjusting pin on wrong. I did too because I followed the instruction video. Smh. I just fixed it today and it makes a huge difference.
I think I’ve fixed it since posting this. One was upside down.
@@ironhallgym I meant the adjusting knob that you pull to go up and down on the upright.
@@joekiat3519 I had one on the correct way and one on upside down. I prefer the upside down one. It’s easier to move on these two for some reason.
@@ironhallgym True but you can't reach the top and bottom holes. If that doesn't bother you then it should be good.
@@joekiat3519 I just now noticed that 😂 Not bothered by it. I have two other cable machines. Thanks for the heads up. Next time I take them apart I’ll probably fix it. But it’ll be a while.
Can you cable press from the pad?
Probably the best way would be at an incline with it. I bought two of these towers and use a bench so I can do flat, incline and decline if I want.
Cool, I did a slight variation using power hooks instead of the straps. ruclips.net/video/Bwc8AgSjcIM/видео.htmlsi=O9jvX7wS6tcoFVjR
Forgot to add the weight total. It’s 90 lb / 40.82 kg

Option 1
What kind of machine is that
It’s a 60mm bells of steel seal row pad.
I really want to know how you built that back bar.
Build video is similar to my tricep bar build.
Did you build the back bar? If so, how?
I did. It’s in my feed.
What type of bar is that?
Schedule 40 pipe. One inch diameter.
