ughh 300 dollar headlights and they have the same issues the ebay $85 regulars have. (those are the ones I just ordered. they are just factory knock offs with with black inside like yours the previous owner had done some messing around in there and I'm trying to undo it all and get the lights looking somewhat normal again. He added blue strip lights above them and hot glued bulbs in places and rewired everything and now my blinkers stay on even when all my lights are off and the side markers are super fast blinkers lol. also my 3rd gen has fog lights too. the last owner had them installed by the dealership.... bUTTtt whatever wiring disaster the last guy did seems to have rendered them inoperable. my fog lights switch now turns on some blue eyebrow looking lights in the front. Needless to say I'm keeping my fire extinguisher in the back seat until I have a chance to rewire everything.

I have had a 2013 crv for about a year now. I had a flatethe other day and had to put on the spare. Guess what i saw. A puddle. I have noticed a musty smell on hot day though it was the ac. Yeah a stagnate puddle of water will definitely stink. Ill be implementing your fix soon . Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience

Or you can source a genuine Honda stanley brand projector headlamps either from Thailand, Malaysia or Philippines and it will be having a nice cut off.

WOW! Great video, and thoroughly explained, my 2008 CRV is doing this exact leak too. Might need to park in the garage for a couple months until I get some warmer weather to plan this repair out. I recently replaced my door locks on the 2008 CRV and saved myself some $500, so I'm all in on DIY. Now to watch everything else you've done!

Hey mechanic 2.0 thanks for the update. My daughter has a 2009 crv. We have owned it 4 years in the four years had to do four “headlight treatments “ she came home for Christmas break . I told her I’m tired of messing with these stupid headlight treatments. So I ordered the smoked glossy black housing similar to yours. However quick question I could not find on any website. I presume the yellow turn signal “preloaded” or comes with it when you ordered it. They arrive Friday . However I probably wait about a week to install due to my work schedule.

My daughter has a 2009 Honda crv she’s had it for 4 years now the headlights continued to “fog up” . We did the lens cleaner method three times in four years. Then I finally got mad and order “preloaded” projector headlights. Meaning they ship with the bulbs already in the assembly. She drives a lot at night and I promised her(last time) if the headlights would film/fog over I’d do something more long term. The new headlights are scheduled to arrive this Friday and about a week later I will install them on her CRV.

Awesome video. I have these same headlights so I decided I would give this upgrade a go as I am in some serious need of it. I installed the passenger side and plugged everything back in and no go for me. The bulb didn't light up. Not sure where I went wrong.

Thank you for this video. On my 2013 CRV I saw water dripping under the car where the spare tire is located. Sure enough I had water and frozen ice ( in the 17 temp /TN)in the well. Should I take it to a body mechanic shop or the Honda dealership? And do you know about much I should be charged? Thanks for any advice

Had to smash the living shet out of my impact driver. Started to strip the heads of the screws. Caved in the door slightly. I had to resort to an impact driver bit on my air hammer to get them loose. Honda totally effed up on this one. There is no reason an impact driver should have a hard time getting the screws loose.

Great video. Can you tell me where to buy the garnish rings. I have tried 2 different online Honda parts dealers and when I order they both voided the orders and sent me email saying these parts are discontinued.

Hi Nick, As you know Honda discontinued OEM foglights for 3rd Gen CRV since long time. So how can you say It's stock light and how can you trust the durability of these.?

Thanks for the video. Had the same problem on my 2012 CRV and used your video as a reference. I ended up using clear “Flex Seal” to seal the plugs/holes on the exterior. Couldn’t find seam sealer for the interior seam, so I used Marine adhesive “5200” which is used on boats to seal that gap. Thanks again for the video.

I have an 08 CR-V myself. I am hearing a rattling sound in the back which sounds like the trunk door but I cannot seem to get it to stop. All bushings and rubbers have been changed so that's why I think it has to do with the trunk door. It's pretty constant when driving o the rough roads. Don't hear it on the smooth roads. Ohh, tires were changed too. I really would like to stop the rattling sound. Hope you can help.

Are you worried about the hole you drilled for the HIDs? Like weather wise and stuff getting in?

Hey buddy i picked up that 08 Cr-V!! Thought it just had a bad alternator but after putting a new one that i had tested and verified as working before installing turns out the system isn't turning on the alternator. All fuses under the hood seem to be fine,ever had any issues like this before?
