How to Grout Tile using Prism Grout Mix, DIY Project to Save $$$
Shouldn't you be removing the cabinet, flooring beneath it, then reinstalling the cabinet? Walls have moulding to cover the gaps that you install at the end. Cabinets have toe kicks but it looks like those are already installed? Also, since that looks like a kitchen area, won't there be possible liquid issues: water will collect in those gaps.
Great question! I needed to raise the cabinets on one side of the kitchen because the subfloor dipped about 1 inch. The official toe kick are not installed yet on the cabinets, that will be one of the final things I do when completing the kitchen. The gaps will all be covered by trim/molding! Stay tuned for the final result!
What is the color of that flooring???😍
MSI blonde LVT!
As opposed to a good fire
Not sure what that means 😅

Here for it 💪

This is great. Where can we find the full video?
Wow thank you 🙏 This is the full video! I made a couple of reels on our official Instagram page. Thanks for the Support!
Hey Conor! Great to see the progress on your fixer-upper! I’ve tackled subfloor issues before, and I can relate to the challenges you're facing. Using pine plywood for the new subfloor is a solid choice; I’ve found it holds up well when properly installed. When I worked on my kitchen, I had to deal with similar plumbing reroutes, and cutting around pipes was a bit tricky. I recommend using a jigsaw for those tight spaces-it really helps maintain clean cuts without damaging existing lines. I also appreciate your tip about ensuring screws are flush with the subfloor. It makes a huge difference when laying down LVP or hardwood-no bumps to worry about later! As for costs, I remember spending around $1,300 for materials for my project, so your Home Depot trip sounds reasonable. Delivery definitely saves time and labor. Looking forward to seeing how the kitchen island comes together! Thanks for sharing your journey; it’s inspiring to follow along. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Best comment I’ve had on RUclips so far! It’s been a journey but we’re so close!
Love to see it
Great stuffff
$1050 here for the week delivered. Bobcat Midsize track unit
That’s a great deal!
Cant wait to see the LVP!
It’s going to look great!
I've used contact glue that comes with an activator to stick the 4 trim pieces together and it makes it solid enough. Those screws are too overkill
Appreciate it! Lot of work and hopefully it won’t move lolol
The felt paper idea is a breath of fresh air for me. I'm a complete DIY noob but got flooded a few months ago and insurance basically snubbed us, so I've been doing things myself to save money. I installed a subfloor system over my somewhat uneven slab and did my best to shim it up wherever it was needed, but after all was done I've been finding a few dips here and there. Asked for some advice but the folks on reddit have been making me feel doomed and like an utter moron for not pouring self-leveller, all while not even attempting to answer my question with a solution that didn't involve me starting over. Thanks brother!
Thanks for the response and sorry to hear about your home getting flooded, that sucks man! This felt paper route may not be as accurate as self leveler but it still gets the job done and is a bit easier on the wallet 😅
Has anyone ever ran into a rental company wanting you to complete courses online before renting?
No great question! they just gave me a quick run around through the machine but never a online course
how to buy filter it is not avbl on amazon seperately
I would go to your local hardware store!
Depot cheap aluminium brackets, i used real stainless steel from roofing supply store when you put ladder on cheap ones they bend , stainless steel stays strong
Right on brother
You should’ve put metal flashing on that facia board before putting those gutters in
Yes! These are temporary gutters, my wife and I are renovating our house and water kept getting into our basement! The new gutters are up and look great 👍
You got ripped off. Skid steer at my rental store in town is 300 per day or 1k for a week. A trailer is another 10 dollars per day or 30 per week. Big companies charge the most like united rentals and sunbelt are just as expensive as Home Depot.
Thanks for the response! Where do you think I should go? There’s rental works and Hertz by my house but no mom and pops places that deal with this kind of stuff
Well call everyone and ask for rates. Herc rentals charges around 375 per day. They went out of business in our town because they were the most expensive. If you have a bobcat dealership near you, many also do rentals. They are very reasonable as well, but may not have a trailer. Caterpillar dealerships also may do rentals, as they do in my area. I typically find that sunbelt, Home Depot, and united rentals charge the most, so if you can, stay away from them. Next time you rent, ask every place in town, including all equipment dealerships. Also, don’t be afraid to call places in towns near by because if you can save 100-200 dollars per day on rental, it’s defiantly worth a little driving.
You don't use a faceshield cover 6885 on your full respirator visor? if not, why not?
You can if you have that accessory but for demoing my house all I needed was a pair of safety glasses
Wow the house is going to look awesome!
Thank you!
Whoa. I tried bondo to fix a hole on my bumper... did not turn out as nice as this! Hence why I've got ductape covering it still. Thanks for this video-- new subscriber here.
Appreciate it! Fixing a bumper sounds tough, especially trying to match the paint. Thanks for the support!
been using cabinets like this for years, been around along time
The cabinets turned out great! I was surprised about the quality
Is the the knockoff 3m full face respirator or the real deal? I dont wanna spend the money for the real deal😂
I feel you my man! That’s a great question! All I have is the 3M so I’m not sure about other brands.
@m.creekrenovations okay, thanks man. I found a 3m one on sale for $99 so I bought it. I spray tar to waterproof basements all day and I'm tired of getting shit in my eyes lol
So what’s the appeal, is it a lot cheaper or better quality or something
Wayyy cheaper than your average set of cabinets!
Having an app like that with it is so cool
Yes super easy to use!
Really helpful for anyone buying RTA cabinets. Thanks for the detailed insights!
No problem my man!
Had no idea that it was that expensive.
Yesssir! It cost a pretty penny, luckily I only had to use it for a day 🙌🙌
Not very informative, what about the seams? Or how many hangers?
No problem! I used around 4-5 hangers spaced evenly per 12ft gutter span and for the seams keep it as tight as you can and use a silicon to prevent water from leaking out
Any thoughts on Vinyl gutters?
There ok! Depends on where you live, in hotter temps they tend to sag and in colder temps they become brittle. The aluminum gutters stay the same throughout!
30 seconds but it goes from light to dark?
Freaky fast 😂😂😂
If you work for a big corporation or an builder, you can get discounted rental prices using those accounts.
Awesome that’s good to know!
I rented one for an entire weekend for 500. I did have my own trailer and I thought that was expensive BUT I can’t afford one right now! Them dudes are expensive!!! Yet so handy
Wow that’s a great deal! I feel you my man, maybe one day I’ll convince my wife to let us buy one for our property!
@@m.creekrenovations so damn versatile and handy!
DANG that’s some clear footage
Wow thanks! 🙌
I would of done 199 from my work
That’s a deal!
@@m.creekrenovations hit up your local sun belt rentals 👍
Great stuff!
Glad you think so!
I have a rental place close to me. They normally rent to contractors so they’re not open on the weekend, so if I arrive there at 1pm on Friday, I get to keep until Monday, only paying one day rental.. always find those places before going to HD
Yeah next time I’ll rent for a long weekend and only pay for 1 day rental!
Rental places around me track hours not day. Starts at 4 hours and goes from there, can you take it for the weekend? Yes, but they have you send a picture of the hours when you start and you better have another picture of hours before that 4 hours is up or your getting charged more, they also can see exactly when you turn the machine on and off from home.
A quarter inch per every 10'? I have a 30' run so it would drop 3/4" from one end to the other? Won't that be quite noticeable?
Not really, if it was a 50” run than probably but I can’t tell!
You could put the downspout in the middle, 15 on each side with 3/8” on each side.
But I did the job of 4 Mexicans that would’ve cost me twice as much. So still a good deal for me. Yes if I did this regularly I’d start seeking cheaper, better sources, the point was to get the 20cu yds distributed quickly and did it for half the price that yard guys were going to charge. The sin isn’t paying too much to rent the tractor, the sin is NOT renting a tractor (skid steer)!
Right on! Yes, I probably rent a skid steer twice a year to manage our 6 acre property so right now I wouldn’t need to buy one (but would be nice to have) also convincing my wife that we need one would be a hard sell 😂 Renting is fine for now!
@@m.creekrenovationsyep…owning one would enable me to do so much more. The Gehl 105 is the only one I’ve rented from HD. Need to try others before attempting a run at the wife “with logic and reason “ (which is the wrong tool to use but the only one I have), to buy a unit.
Great video! Thanks for your help
No problem!
Back rolling makes perfect sense with what you said about texture ! Beautiful family room!!
Thank you 🙏 hope it turns out well
So, you bought 2 PT 4x4s, like 8 PT 2x4s, at least 1 PT 2x6, maybe 20 PT 1x1s, pickets, hinges, handles, screws and nails for $200? Where do you shop?
Good Ole Home Depot! lol Yeah I spent about $200 to complete this privacy fence, honestly the camera makes it look bigger but its only 40in long and 30in wide
And $3600 to spray the house is "a steal", but would have probably ended up being a nightmare. Can't quite tell how big your house is, but if they're only quoting 3600, you would have gotten a terrible result likely.
Yeah, out of all the projects for the house I felt like I can tackle painting to try our best to save the money and put it elsewhere
Professional and very picky painter with over 19 years experience.
I am all for it! I appreciate the advice
And honestly for the ceilings, as long as you're two-coating with a decent quality flat, you didn't even really need to prime. They tell you that for liability reasons (and paint sales), but two good coats of super paint flat would be 100% fine on the ceilings.
Thats good to know next time!
And you didn't really need to backroll the primer, but it doesn't hurt
Thanks Ben!
Those ceiling beams are going to bleed tannins
The plan is to wrap an actual wooden beam around the 2x6s
Great vid!
Thanks my man!
