Hey there Liam Watched all your stuff on the WR a few months ago and currently awaiting my new 2025 bike. I’m an older short guy from the Riverland area and would love to get in touch with you about a few things if possible.Mainly how you got on with your mapping and other general discussion about the bike. Regards Brett.
Hey mate could u message me a more in depth vid of how to remove the headlight/blinker switch please
Where the big washer is needs to be a rubber gromit
Appreciate the videos you made on the WR setup. How's the bike going?
Great VID Liam- thanks for putting it together. Great reference.
My brake light is wired up this way, I'm thinking front is probably better
someone knows the size/treads of the throttle screw?
Hey mate just wondering what clutch and ignition covers you are using?
Hi where did you order the full lighting kit?
Awesome video! I just picked up a 2020 WR250F and holy crap is the throttle snappy. Did you find this as well? I have done all the uncorking you have, except new muffler, and it is still super "touchy" to ride and a bear on slow, tight trails. Stall machine....
Thats why people make all the different maps for the map changer so you could have one for really fast and one for more trails. I don’t own one yet so I wouldn’t really know but thats what I have seen
@@wrjackhartley its more money but try out the G2 throttle tamer
Had the same issues with my 2023 model.Put a throttle tamer on to help with the touchy issue and then a Rekluse 4.0 which turned it into the bike i wanted.Went from stalling and/or flame outs constantly on the single tracks to,um,how often now?Never. But $2500.Ouch!!!
Great video and very helpful for a new WR buyer
Do you have a map of this car?
Enjoyed the series. Thanks for sharing
Need these guards for a 2023 wr250
Great content
Thanks for sharing.
There is a restriction screw you can remove and cut it shorter so you have full movement of the throttle
Hey mate, just curious, were you running the engine when testing the rear brake light? When I fit mine on my 22 it did not activate the rear brake light when ignition was on, just when running. I did not have to patch anything into the rear brake pedal wiring like you.
Great video, So the dealer didn't won't fit the enduro kit when you buy the WR ?
They will for around $400 extra…
Mikuni tb or kehien
What was the part number of the FMF pipe you installed?
Liam! Don't go on here much but just stopping by to say thanks! Your video helped me replace the fuel filter on 701 Enduro last year, now picked up a '22 WR250F this year as well and couldn't find the throttle stop on the install instructions for the GYTR ECU install. Good on ya. Cheers!
Buen video
picked mine up Yesterday
Hi mate firstly what a great video no bs. I have just ordered the 2022 WRF250 if you have time would you list the parts you put on your bike and where you got them. I want to do the same setup to my bike when I get it in September. This will be the first new bike I have owned and really want to look after it. I was really shocked with the lack of grease in the bike so glad I watched all 4 parts. Cheers again mate.
Great series. Wish I had a jack built into the floor!!
is there a part 5 to come or that it, enjoying the bike now?
I'm intending to do a ride review, but I keep forgetting to take my Gopro. I've ridden it 3 times and I'm enjoying it more each time. It's a definite improvement over my 2018 WR250F (which was a great bike).
yeah nice, looking forward to the ride review! been off the bikes for a couple of years now and looking at getting back into it again now, but only ever owned 2t's but looking for a change this time round...
@@MynameisGeoff82 they've all improved a lot. The 2T's are cheaper to rebuild, a little lighter and have good torque, but the 250 4T's have come a long way. A 250 4T will never be a 5th gear wheelie power house, but they're just so rapid. When the guys on the big bores are getting tired and the bike is steering them, the little 250 just keeps carving through the corners in singletrack like a scalpel. The only placed the 250 is at a disadvantage is in transport sections where the bigger bikes are happy to cruise at above 100 kmh. The 250 will do it, but it's revving hard at highway speed. I hate transport sections anyway and everywhere else, I'm MUCH faster on the 250. It also uses heaps less fuel than the 2T's and big bores, so the fuel stops are never a problem for me as my riding buddies always need to fuel up before I do. I like to get a different class of bike each time, but I stayed with a 250F this time because they're just so fast in singletrack so much fun.
Hey liam, was the FX ever a consideration over the wr?
@@MynameisGeoff82 not for me - I need road rego.
Great video, thanks
do you torque you're bolts back up to factory spec I didn't see you do this once
Good question and that's a whole topic in itself which would be controversial. I only use torque wrenches on fork triple clamp pinch bolts or engine assembly, and only when I've run a tap through the threads and applied appropriate lubricant. For everything else, I trust an experienced wrist and high quality tools (most of my tools are Snap-On).
You might have noticed that I apply an anti seize compound to every fastener. If something vibrates loose, from that point on, I'll clean or replace the fastener and apply a thread locker like Loctite. I've learnt which fasteners are prone to vibrating loose and there's a few which I'll Loctite first time. There's plenty of fasteners on a bike which are under constant spring tension and are unlikely to come loose, like fork and axle pinch bolts. I also learnt the hard way to always replace KTM 4 stroke front sprocket bolts and dome washers with new genuine KTM ones when replacing the front sprocket as they will snap off (inside the sprocket drive shaft) usually at or the night before a big race...
You don't Pack bearings in a race bike, just enough to make it to the next interval. Thats what the factory does. Squid score = 5.
That's because the factory only want the bearings to survive the warranty period. They make more money from spare parts. But, thanks for your input.
The dealer you bought it off obviously didn’t do a pre delivery on the bike
Great video... but at 9.55min you need to remove a plastic spacer from the oem exhaust and fit it on the fmf
legend thanks for your time! straight into it!
thanks from New zealand! watching Pt2 next
How much is a rebuild kit for it? And hov many hr riding on a rebuild?
Again nice work, just noticed your bike platform recessed in the floor. awesome work!
Great video Liam, looking at purchasing the same bike soon. Like you mate I always do the bearings straight up whether new or old and never had an issue after 30 something years of riding.
Fark bro you should be getting kick backs from yamaha these vids helped me heaps 😂
This is a straight to the point, no nonsense, informative video that I hadn’t considered doing to my 500 EXC. 👍🏾
Where'd you get the tail light assembly
It came with the off road kit that came with the bike.
That videos funny cuz I just bought 2021 yz250fx and I'm trying to make it road legal I got to put all those lights on it and switches thinking maybe I should have bought the wor
I love your bike hoist Is it built into the floor? Was the concrete floor set up for this when building the shed? Just curious because I’m a concretor and have not seen this done before. Nice 👍
Thanks mate. I built it into the floor when I built the shed. So glad I did.
@@liamsrides6023 Looks neat mate A bit of pre-planning goes a long way It would be a good video to show this set up 👍
Thanks James. I dug a 400mm deep hole and compacted 100mm of rubble under 100mm of reinforced concrete. My mate is the concreter. He put extra reinforcement steel across the corners. I put two conduit pipes under the concrete and put a power point in the pit. The second is a spare in case I ever want to run compressed air or another power point into the pit. It took a bit of planning, but was easy to do and works great.
@@liamsrides6023 I’m sure it makes working on the bikes so much easier and when you have a neat set up the end result will always end well Thanks for taking the time to explain the set up. Did you pour concrete for the walls of the pit or use bricks? I have built pits for truck workshops but seeing yours in a domestic set up was a first. Look forward to any future video’s Cheers
@@jamesbaber3775 he poured the floor in the pit and let it set for a while, then boarded up the sides and poured them with the rest of the shed floor. The pit is only 200mm deep. The hoist has adjustable feet, so I was able to fine-tune it to get it perfectly level and in line with the floor. I left a decent gap between the edges of the hoist table and the sides of the pit so it would be safe and not be a guillotine for toes or kids hands. Then I covered the whole floor with rubber gym mat and left no gap so it looks neat. Unfortunately, the gym mat is not chemical resistant, but it's comfortable under foot, prevents damage to dropped tools or parts and each tile is easily replaceable.
Great info Liam I am planning to buy the same model WR this year This has been the most informative video on a WR I’ve seen yet. And I searched plenty I will certainly be taking on board many of your mod’s Thanks heap’s
Good job man just got my 22 WR250 i love it, what was the map like? I am still running the stock maps, and what suspension clicks did you come up with?
Thanks Andy. I still haven't had a chance to ride it.
i have a 22 wr250f also and the suspension is a bit to hard
@@stanimirgg6044 g'day mate, I finally got to ride mine this last weekend, and I like it a lot. I found the suspension to be perfect for me, but that's a very personal thing. Have you tried adjusting the clickers? The KYB suspension responds well to minor adjustments. Try two clicks softer on the compression adjusters and see how that feels.
Hey man what chinslider did you use I can't find a 22 model one on mxstore
@@AndysRV TM Designworks from Rocky Mountain ATV.
have just greased my 2018 WR 250 F and had water in the space between the sets of rollers.filled with grease now.am saving for a 2022 WR,reviews look promising.
Great video, where did you get the lever set up that pushes the tyre onto the bead? cheers mate
It's a Baja No Pinch Tire Tool. For a tyre changing gumby like me - they're great.
Where did you get the radiator guards from?
@@James_Bram www.forceaccessories.com.au/
Damn here in the USA you can’t even find a 21’!! I Guess Yamaha isn’t shipping here?
Have you changed the standard maps?
Yes, I installed the Yamaha hard hitting and smooth maps from the Yamaha Australia website. I'll test them both using the handle bar map switch. I still haven't ridden it yet as the weather is still too hot here.
Was this the YZ250F maps you used i cant find any maps for the 22WR 😣
@@AndysRV www.yamaha-motor.com.au/discover/technology/power-tuner-app
Great work! Very informative material. I like the way you have been doing it. Cool to see review of the bike afterwards. I'm wondering how the bike performs in technical stuff? How is low end power?
where do u buy the new off road kit? thxs
In Australia, it comes with the bike.
