Wow, best interview I've ever seen, great intelligent questions, main stream media could take lesson's from this man. Mr. Rustad will get my vote, more good ideas and common sense than any other political leader yet, and he's very knowledgeable about our province, big asset to B.C.

Holy smokes ! I like the common sense and smarts John has. I can't wait to vote and get him and the Conservatives into Victoria. Politics has certainly changed over the past number of years where we can have informative interviews like this to guide us. I like his logical approach to solving our health care problems, it just makes sense. Heheh ... he was sure quick on his response about whether or not to fire Dr Bonnie Henry !! I find his ideas on dealing with the drug problem is right on the mark ! The banning of nuclear power generation is SO shortsighted. Everybody gets so panicked about nuclear power because things like 3 Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima all come to mind. Three Mile Island was an equipment failure and human error, all with very old technology. Chernobyl was purely human error. Fukushima, well, I personally never would've built a nuclear power plant right along the shoreline where it could by hit by a tsunami. Could it have benefited from better failsafe measures, most certainly ! However, in Canada, we have developed some of THE safest nuclear power plant designs and equipment in the world. There are other fuels as opposed to uranium. One of probably the best and safest, even after being spent, is using thorium. Another fuel source I believe is a molten salt reactor. We also now have SMR (small modular reactors) technology which is a HUGE leap forward. A few well placed SMRs using a ridiculously safe fuel source like thorium could be *the* answer to our future power needs, at least until we can master fusion reactors ! Overall, I really enjoy listening to Mr Rustad, he seems to have a very centrist, common sense way of approaching things. I read some of the garbage I see in MSM and just laugh. Well, they *aren't* biased are they !?!? hahaha !! Conservatives have cinched my vote !

I agree with Rustad's views on speedy and sometimes mandatory treatment for drug addicts. However, where is the money for that coming from if taxes are reduced? On his criticism of Dr Henry : if he were elderly or immune compromised and admitted to hospital for any reason, would he feel comfortable being treated by doctors or nurses who had not been covid vaccinated?

When we stop dividing people, stop giving to one segment of society, stop allowing any segment of society tax breaks that others do not get….we will win. We can’t change the atrocities of the past, we can only not allow it to happen again. It doesn’t matter what the political parties name is….they have to remember that they work for the people. The elites can not control the politicians anymore. Good changes will happen when we have a ethical leader.

14:16 I've been paying BC carbon tax since 2008, is it not fair to say that if carbon tax doesn't affect climate change, then there is no reason to collect it? I chuckle with these climate zealots that think somehow a country that contributes less than 2% of the world's emissions can somehow positively impact climate change worldwide, and that hampering everyone within the borders of BC is somehow a benefit to the world while China and India pollute on a massive scale.

I have found everything he said to make sense. Except the approach to drug treatment. Unfortunately both parties drop the ball on this. There are so many reasons that people become addicted to drugs, and so many reasons why that drug use changes. It is COMPLEX and there needs to be a full spectrum of interventions for people at different stages of the addiction. They all need to be evidence based. Unfortunately both sides of the political spectrum are ideological based in their approach. Both sides have failed because of this. Unfortunately Rustad is unfamiliar with the current state of mental health and addictions treatment. Apprehending everyone who OD's under the mental health act is materially impossible, and would clog up every psych unit and drug treatment facility in the province. The treatment substance users get on psych units, and in the health care system is abysmal. They are treated worse than garbage. You are just adding more trauma to an already deeply traumatized person by apprehending them. He needs to get a much closer look at these systems how they are in reality today.

Excellent interview. Questions were to the point and issues were not, “skirted, deflected, dodged” just answered. On the issue of mandatory recovery for people who have over dosed, I wish this was in place several years ago. My youngest sister had an addiction problem and was taking up valuable bed space, in emergency, on a regular basis. I asked the nurse whether we could get her into treatment and she informed me that all they can do is offer help once she was detoxed but it was up to her. She might still be alive today if it was mandatory as she obviously couldn’t make a rational decision at that point in her life.

Didn’t this guy get kicked out of the liberal party for being unelectable? Alberta seems to have generally gotten worse all around “ex” oil lobbyist, Danielle smith and her regressive ideology from a Conservative Party that can’t keep a leader through a full term, so I guess BC might get the male version? Sure hope not. Don’t like Eby, but this guys a clown that I hope we never get to see the repercussions of. ANY politician buddying up with admitted scam news reporter tucker Carlson has no place being a leader in Canada. The divisive rhetoric is to take the attention away from the real corruption of all government and the rich staying rich at all costs. It’s sad how easily it gets eaten up and we all get dumber for it and lack/too lazy to use basic critical thinking :( Russia won’t stop their pro right propaganda and if that alone isn’t enough to not vote conservative please just try to remember empathy instead of anger at a pronoun or some other dividing topic thing that has 0 impact on your day to day life. Are we as dumb as our friends to the south that elected a lifelong grifting, non bill paying, bankrupt prone, had to be put on an allowance by a bank when they would still lend him money b/c he was so bad with it, nepotist, Russian owned, convicted felon, rapist? Not saying Rustad is trump, but anti-science/vax shit is just absurd. Everything is corrupt, but it’s not hard to learn and research valid sourced information with fact checking. Type “Tips to avoid misinformation” or something. Confirmation bias is something we all do, but social media is a trove of garbage info taken for fact much too easily with the biases we all have. Just try to get legit information. If you’re rich and are cool with human suffering you’ll probably be better off voting conservative, or if you’re just so insecure about all humans having the same rights to be called what they fucking want vote con. I don’t agree with every “woke” (fuck I hate that term) thing, but it literally has so little to do with my well being I’d rather point the finger at all government and the lobbyists pulling their strings then go on in an endless cycle of anger at the each other the powers that be pull ours towards. I understand times are hard and people need to direct their anger somewhere, but things can and are almost certainly going to get worse without intervention not currently capable of our race with the greed of the ultra rich that the entire world economy is structured heavily in greed and corruption friendly less the odd scale goat. We’re nearing the endgame zeitgeist with capitalism and everything that caused the last crash in overdrive and possibly the “last” and definitely worst recession of our lifetime a few more billionaires underground bunkers being built away. Should be fun 😅
