Benjies vlogs and what nots
Австралия
Добавлен 22 авг 2012
hello I'm ben, on this channel we do a lot of vlogging and adventures such as hiking, camping, fishing, abandoned buildings (when we come across them) and paranormal videos using our collection of equipment that has ben collected over the years.
paranormal side of things.
we have experienced our share of paranormal events in our life from our name being called to seeing full body apparitions to being poked in the back and being watched while we sleep. i am no expert in the field, i more or less seek my own answers to the unknown.
I will occasionally do taste testing videos too for the fun fact that i love food and drink.
hope you all enjoy this channel and thank you all for coming with.

brainstoming a stand for the gas furnace.

hello everyone, welcome back to anothe episode. in this one we are brainstorming a stand design for our gas furnace so its not directly on the concrete. we dont have a gravel patch for it so we decided that a steel framed stand will work out better. we will go and get the steel plate for it sometime this week than we can weld the frame together.
thought they would be bigger!!

Cool video
thanks mate. something a little different. its a bumber that i cant film in these places.
@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots You're very welcome
Any time you spend doing stuff with your dad is priceless! Speaking as a son and a dad.❤
@@oobasven8169 absolutely right on that one mate. He’s getting on with age and ailments so more time I can spend with him now the better.
And you can use it as a BBQ!!!
@@oobasven8169 didn’t think of that. Got all the charcoal and everything
Looks way too small for 51 inches. Maybe 51cm?😊
@@oobasven8169 now that I think about it, it was probably in cm’s instead of inches. Sweat to god sometime you can hear the crickets coming from between my ears sometimes lol
@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots just didn't want you to order a 51inch plate!😉
Some nice brass fittings. Good and clean for your pour. New sub you. I use my electric foundry a lot, glad to see you use a dual canister respirator.👍👍 Good couple bars brother. Sound would make your video a lot better brother. Thanks for sharing.😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
@@CandSMINING thanks mate, it was a fun little melt with brass. It was a good idea to use respirator this time round due to the smoke coming my off it. Going to try and more later down the track.
It's so much fun melting in a gas forge. You are going to love it. Just making sure you buy all your crucibles and tongs from the same company each time. The tongs are made to fit the manufacturers crucibles.
that what i thought on when i bought the gas furnace. i do had tongs to poor, they are a little offset so i'll have to have a look at the place i bought it from to get some one's that fit. i wouldnt mind getting the ones that pull out the crucible that wrap around it, the ones that i got are like the 2 small point the grab the lip. i am a little scared that they wont grab it propley. i guess it all trial and error. hopefully without getting burned.
Hey , just so you know, the bright yellowish green color is the zinc ( that is boiling starts boiling at 904c° )vapors burning. Brass typically melts in between 905 and 950c° .To keep the toxic fumes as low as you can try to keep your melting temperature as low as you can. the bubling you got around the 8:20 time mark was from the zinc boiling and creating zinc vapor bubbles. don't take this as critisism , just want you to be as safe as possible. from a fellow brass caster
Hey mate, any advice I can get is always helpful, I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you. All of this is a new learning curve. That’s also why I was wearing the respirator so I didn’t breathe any of the smoke in.
Great comment.
Love the asmr format! Is that Darth Vader in the background 😂😂
@@oobasven8169 thought it be a nice fitting for this video. Yeah it shore is. Just thought of doing a little skit after it came out.
>look at all those solenoids You mean capacitors
@@devicemodder couldn’t believe how many were on this thing lol
@@devicemodder and yes. I do get a little jumbled up sometimes with my words
"protable"?? .....You should make an effort to spell-check and properly punctuate the titles of your videos before posting them. If you want more subscribers, a little professionalism goes a long way.
@@robertatkinson6864 you’re right. I do this channel for fun. Not as a professional business. Maybe I do need to go back to school. Maybe need to replace my brain and hope it doesn’t have autism and adhd that causes things like this 😁, have a good one one
@@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots You're using ADHD and autism as an excuse, try using it as an advantage. There is nothing stopping you from doing better.
You should be able to buy the fitting to your cylinder I did last month
@@jeffbaade8480 there is definitely fittings Ng's for the cylinder for shore. My main concern is how much gas it will use to do the job, if you watch big stackd he's got my size gas furnace and bigger. He uses the bigger gas cylinders for all his, bit over might not need such a big one.
With the bread just mould it on your hook
Big carp next time put bread on the hook no weight or a tiny weight they will take the bread off the top of the water mate
@@jeffbaade8480 I didn’t think of taking bread. Will definitely take some next time. With some floats too
@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots yeah floats are good I'm actually going to use them next time because the carp are doing it at my little lake I go to
@ I thought of it before leaving but chose not to take any. Bloody numbed out about it big time. Next time I go I’ll be taking a float or two
Do you get better scrap money if you melt it
not really, they always assume that you've mixed it with something else. which sucks.
YOURE SUPPOSED TO COAT THE MOLD DUDE. LOOK IT UP. THATS WHY THEYRE SO HARD TO COME OUT.
Has it got anything to do with the two nuts next to the cutter maybe your dad will know
That’s what I was thinking, I was thinking of pulling it out and adjusting the bolts slightly to the left to try and line it up.
@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots ask your dad he seems good with sort of stuff by the look of all his tools and machines not saying your not
@jeffbaade8480 he is pretty switched on with all things like that. I do alright when it comes to it but need a little practice at it.
This was awesome Benjie! I've never melted copper down before!
It’s good fun man. Best to know what works best for copper, A 20 pound propane furnace would work better due to it getting hotter. The one I have does pretty good for being electric, it does take time to melt it down.
On my 3kg electric I use a cocktail spoon with long handle, main thing to not breathe is zinc which is also in brass won't kill you but will make you sick
@@davidbliton985 I was looking ok’ing for a little my handled spoon of some sort. I did find a spoon that would m going to modify. I did my best to try and avoid the smoke the best I could. Did breath a little in but not much.
Benny boy you have to look after yourself mate your just a young rooster I'll do it with you let's go on a health kick
@@jeffbaade8480 absolutely mate. It’s due to the years of drinking the booze. That’s the first step at getting better. I think I need to start the hiking clogs again.
@@benjiesvlogsandwhatnots yes but don't expect things to happen straight away slow and steady old friend
@ 100%, I’ve learned the hard way to not over do it. Been working n some tracks that nearly killed me lol. The tunnel video I did a few months ago was one of them.
additionally i think you actually cast aluminum bronze, being a mixuter of aluminu and copper because de copper windings used in the large motors or generators are actually copperplated aluminum wire
@@miatoolway9068 I did notice that the coin molds were a little lighter in colour. Not shore if that was because it was mixed.
Hey the majority of the smoke was from the varnish that was on the copper windings that you were melting. copper windings from motors and transformators always have an insulating layer
@@miatoolway9068 shore was late It wasn’t a pleasant smell lol.
A cool video! What was the set up cost, and how long did it take between putting the wire in and pouring out the molten metal?
@@oobasven8169 the machine and all the equipment cost 280 all together, it took about 3 or so hours from loading it up to poring, but I think I might have broken it after this sesh so I’ll have to have a look and see what’s going on with it.
Great video
@@lifesadventureskeepingitre1180 thanks mate this video gave a spark to start pulling things apart lol
Hey Ben I wouldn't mind getting a energy drink was thinking about them last week could you or would you no if the sugar free ones work just the same as the ones with sugar
@@jeffbaade8480 they do work quite well. They do a good pick me up without the sugar crash later down the track. You do taste it’s a sugar free though.
😮 looks like your birthday was quite prosperous, with all of the recent purchases, young Mr B!!

@@squiddiddy yeah 100%, I like to give things a try and to be honest. It was nothing like normal coke. It tasted more like raspberry coke than normal. Not only that. I don't understand why these companies do these things.
@@squiddiddy yeah the coke tasted like crap. Vanilla coke with a hint of biscuit.
