Je venais de voir l'adaptation de Melville datant de 61 et je cherchais à en savoir plus sur Béatrix Beck. Pis v'là-t-y pas que je découvre qu'il va être adapté. Pis qu'en fait, c'est déjà fait. Que y a pu qu'à attendre la journée de la Femme ! Aaaaaaaah !!! Trop hâte d'être le 8 mars ! XD

@24boat Because the original title of Shelley's story was "Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus". It was a horror story and is sometimes considered the first true science fiction ever written, which means it's the predecessor to today's films and books that also have a foot in each genre, like Alien, and now Prometheus. Prometheus deals with some of the same themes as Frankenstein, and the scene where they electrify the head is probably an homage to Shelley's Frankenstein.

I do respect Ridley Scott grew up on Blade runner and Alien but if any other director had done Prometheus they would have been ripped apart for this film. I the visuals are good but the plot was just too weak to be forgiven, and I do like Noomi Rapace but it was a mistake to try to creat the same effect that he got with Weaver, somethings can't be duplicated and for some reason to me that's what it seemed like he was trying a little too hard to do. I liked Fassbender as david, but that was it.

Guys, there's no point to fight about this movie. For sure, it's not a huge sci-fi flick with that kind of scenario, but the art direction is pretty cool and it's quite enjoyable if you can forgive the bad stuff in the plot. I'm not sure There will be blood has anything to do with it too, if you wanna watch intelligent sci fi, you can have a look at Tarkovsky's Stalker or Kubrick's 2001. And Merry Christmas.

The studios may hav simply let Ridley make this type of film in the direction he wanted, but maybe still we'rent preppared to take too much of a gamble by deciding to let him make a whole new trilogy more or less in 1 go, as other directors hav done. Prometheus is not based on any novels either, so they might hav just let this 1 run and see how audiences react. Never know, history mite repeat itself, and they let Cameron get in on it again for a sequel done in his style.
