The Sounds of the Gold Cup
The Oulton Park Gold Cup.
One of the best historic events on the UK calendar.
The International Gold Cup is a prize awarded annually to the winner of a motor race held at the Oulton Park circuit, Cheshire, England. In the 1950s and 1960s it formed one of a number of highly regarded non-Championship Formula One races, which regularly attracted top drivers and teams.

Motorsport Photography for Beginners: The Basics
Nice photos!!!!
Hahaha i was at that Oulton Park race, my god the weather for the majority of that day was horrendous. Was also the first time i took a camera to a race event. Love the advice, going to put this into practice.
Interesting video, especially as I was photographing at the event myself! It is always nice to see how others approach it!
Always double check your ISO. I shoot at ISO 64 99% of the time, except at night races. Shot more than a few the following mornings at 1600 before checking.
Love the bark of a F5000 Small-block Chevy V-8.
This is fantastic.
Just me over in western Canada being VERY envious of all the epic circuits you have close to you. Great stuff Jordan!
Mercedes sauber
Done all thoughs ones
Comments cant. Or can they???
- Format SD cards the night before - Charge your batteries up and pack the night before - Look at other photographers work for inspo - Chat to others on track to network and learn from them - Get a variety of shots so they dont all look the exact same and same angle on track - Experiment outside your comfort zone and try things no one else is doing - Use a raincover on your camera - Avoid staying in one place the entire time
You legend
Go for variety - and that means in everything. Use different lenses, from fisheye (great for taking shots inside the cars in the pit/start area) to extreme telephoto. Take pics head on, from the side, from behind; grouch down, get up high - don't just stand eye level. Take wide shots, close-ups, frame cars through trees/people/buildings, use reflective surfaces (glass, water etc). Use high shutter speeds and try extremely slow shutter speeds. Take pictures with the sun behind you or in front; notice where the shadows are at different times of the day. Don't put the car smack dab in the middle in every shot - find different shapes and colors on the track and use them to your advantage for different compositions. Look at how the road bends, frame the shot with cool buildings, trees, maybe there's something in the distance (mountains, skyline etc). And don't forget the pit/box area - there is so much more to find there.
Just started to get back into motorsport photography once again after a lengthy break. When i was attempting motorsport photography here in Malaysia we still had F1 and the Japanese Super GT series but sadly both have left the Sepang Circuit now. Am glad i had two (three if you count the iPhone) cameras in tow during a Drift shoot last weekend and can relate to the shock and horror of finding i left my Zfc spare battery at home in the charger! I have 4 D500 batteries but only 2 for the Zfc and the one in the camera was down to its last bar. Fortunately i could still charge the camera using my iPhone’s battery pack but it was too cumbersome to hold along with the Zfc and 70-200! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
Hi mate, I’m an amateur motorsport photographer too, I’m going to follow your journey
No, Better camera + better skils and better experiences means Better Photos (Generaly)[in this period]
Thanks for the input mate! Very well put!
So beautiful to watch! Happy birthday to your father!
oooo. very nice
The other thing that is huge that you kind of missed is test and shoot and make sure the settings are correct for the venue that you are shooting at as every venue and day is different
Cheers for the input. Yes I did miss it. Review work on the go etc. thank you mate!
thanks 😊
No worries!
🥶🥶
Nice
Gt3 for life
Wide body and big wings, cool as anything!
Ya know GT4 doesn't look exciting but it's an underrated class to actually drive. But GT3 is king. Especially right now! So many manufacturers.
I’m loving that the GT stuff is growing more and the endurance stuff!
But the mechanics are equally as crazy as the drivers
Mercedes AMG W15 (f1)
😂😂😂😂😂😂
🥶
😂nice
British gt
What an edit 🥶🥶🥶(keep up the great work my friend 🫡)
Thanks mate. That’s really kind of you man!
Np
Supercup is loads better!!👌
Not a race car but 04 cobra in screaming yellow
Great information, but I find the cuts in the video very jarring... I'd try not making a cut every sentence and make sure your camera is completely stationary, so the background isn't moving with each cut either
Thank you for the feedback mate. So I had some issues filming where I wasn’t very aligned so had to do that in post. I’ll fix it for next time!
@@jordanyeatesphoto Awesome, I'm sure you have more great stuff to come!
Thank you mate. All feedback is welcome, so thank you!
Where can one go to take these pictures as an amateur. Would we need to get tickets or is some sort of accreditation required?
So you wouldn’t need accreditation. On a normal race day then it’s just a case of buying a ticket. Whereas test days are free and you can just turn up. Media accreditation is only needed for spaces in front of fences.
@@jordanyeatesphoto ok cheers!
My favourite is the Beechdean AMR Vantage GT3

Ur photography are awesome❤ And thank you for the tips ❤ From India 😁
Thank you for the kindness. Means a lot!
Thank you
I have a couple questions. I'm trying to get into photography and I wanna see what kind of cameras there are. What is the camera you are using? It seems that your lens might be an addition, too, so whats that? And also, what would the prices be for these? I know this profession/hobby can be very expensive.
The camera im using is a Canon 1DX Mk1 with a Sigma 150-600 lens.
@@jordanyeatesphoto Thank you!
