I Travelled 1127 Miles Searching For This Exact Spot 🇨🇭🇱🇮🇦🇹🇩🇪
I set out to retrace a chaotic, adventurous journey my grandfather took across Europe with his friends some time in the early 1950s.
His trip ended up being inadvertently adventurous because of a lack of planning and a car that was falling to pieces.
My adventure started when I insisted on not paying for anything more than I need to ... including any sort of accomodation.

Recreating the greatest survival story in history

In 1914, Ernest Shackleton set sail for Antarctica, with the aim of being the first expedition to cross the continent. The expedition wasn't successful, the ship, the endurance, never even reached Antarctica. Instead, the crew spent a year and a half stranded in one of the most remote, hostile environments on earth. I'm attempting to recreate the final stage of this expedition where three men t...

Can I cross a city without ever being seen?

Ok, hear me out. It might just about be possible to sneak across an entire city, from one side to the other, without anyone ever seeing you. I tried to achieve this by crawling through the network of dirty ditches and streams flowing through Edinburgh. It wasn't one of my brightest ideas, but it was one of those sorts of adventures you just can't resist having a go at.

Damn. I watched every second of it, this is great. This is an example of traveling. Many people just go at some most well known place, walk around touristy places, eat McDonalds and go home. Just like you would want your kids recreating your picture, I think your grandpa would feel the same way. I didn't expect you to actually find these places, it was a surprise at the end. It must be an interesting feeling, and that's why we should travel.

Yeah I am not expert of UK law but pretty sure tresspass is civil but TRESSPASS AT NIGHT is a criminal offence, so not smart to prowl on or around residences between sunset and sunrise. Climbing buildings etc.. could be seen as possible to cause damage to roofs, railings brickwork etc.. so just be careful for sure as trespass laws do exist beyond civil tort. Landowners now have the right to prosecute, as on 28th June 2022, the now Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill (PCSAC) received Royal Assent, making trespass, in some circumstances, a criminal offence punishable by up to four months imprisonment and/or a fine of up to £2,500. Many landowners welcome the introduction of the PCSCA as it provides a significantly less costly way for trespassers to be removed from land. What The Law Says Under the new legislation, it is an offence if a person over the age of 18: Resides, or intends to reside, on land, in or with a vehicle (including a caravan) without the consent of the landowner; and Fails to leave and/or remove their property as soon as reasonably practicable when asked to do so; and Has caused, or is likely to cause, ‘significant’: Damage to the land/property/environment Disruption to the us of the land and/or supply of utilities; and/or Distress via ‘offensive conduct’. Just the stuff happening at night like someone climbing your house etc.. might cause "distress" and be seen as offensive conduct and interoduce the risk of damage to the property.. imo not super serious but if something were to happen any clmbing of stuff using railings etc.. could result in damage to them, so probably just entering the area of where concern may arise, in what would be like prowling like activities. Also would be suprised this wouldn't fall under like public order stuff or antisocial behavior since the UK went sort of nuts with that to enforce normal friendly behavior that isn't going to upset people. Not 100% sure on that but while it may be a civil trespass, doing stuff on peoples property at night when they don't have a clear idea why someone is climbing their house may create concern. None the less end of the day no harm done, just if you can accidnetally break something it may actually be vandalism not simply innocent travel. Like look at it from the perspective of the person getting woken up by the sound of someone climbing their house "The Crime and Disorder Act definition (1998) A widely used definition of anti-social behaviour is the definition contained in the Crime and Disorder Act (1998): 'Acting in a manner that caused or was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household as (the defendant). '" Not saying its a serious or criminal matter but I think it would raise eyebrows and be a possible cause of frustration to occur at night while people are sleeping to suddently be awoken by someone outside their 2nd floor window climbing their wall. In some areas i am sure the purpose would be thought to be Burglary at first glance most likely and introduce the fear of violence.

This video is a true representation of what i want to accomplish when i have the resources to do so (as i am only 18 and beginning college). This is probably the best video i've seen to date, ever since i took on mountaineering as an aspiring hobby. You guys are genuinely my heroes, thank you so much for documenting this and showing the world what only 2 people with a drive can accomplish, this is truly beautiful to me. Im currently planning to take a mountaineering course soon, i will only be able to afford it by eating scraps for about two months but so be it. My current mountaineering goal is to complete a guided summit to Matterhorn in the swiss alps by summer 2025. I hope to be able to keep my hobby alive and eventually go on great expeditions like this. Thank you guys so much for this, i wish you the best!
