My new program is paying off. Also, I finally learned to use leg drive efficiently. As long as all goes well, I'm going to try for 245 in a month or so.

I'm starting a new program this week, so I decided to test my sumo max. I've only tried sumo once, and it was light weight. My conventional deadlift max is the same. Also, there is a little too much lumbar rounding, but it was my first time going heavy on sumo, and I'm going to fix it.

    Nice video, only suggestion I would make is to put maybe a steel plate or a fascia board over the area where the bar that holds the weights thru. My reason is because that seems like a weak point as you go up in weight. Over all, good idea for a cost effective contraption.

    Maybe try not squatting that deep in your belt squat…maybe your knees won’t hurt so much…I assume that’s why you’re wearing knee sleeves? Anyway, do however you feel is right. Good luck😀

    How did you keep the pipe centered in place? is it just a really tight fit through the hole?

    Nice job. I use a landmine attachment and hold the other side up on side with jcups. Once lifted off step over just a bit and do them. I plan to put the back in the Henny strap as it will float around a bit.

    I thought his knees were 'popping' until I realized it was the chain hitting the floor. Guess only my kneed do that 👴

  • @Noiconnotag
    @Noiconnotag Год назад

    The idea is nice, the execution is lacking, you are essentially lifting only a fraction of the actual weight due to the position of the pivot and the long lever. For a better design you might want to take advice from your physics/biomechanics professor, they should be able to explain torque and moment rather easily. If you care to try something, try the same movement but position yourself between the weights and the wall (pivot point) it should provide a different force curve. Facing the wall with weights behind or back to the wall with weight in front can also work slightly differently to stimulate the anterior or posterior chain.

    Really nice design, very simple. I built my own, but found it was easier to use pipe straps instead of drilling large holes through the wood for the weight rack (on top) and the rotating joint (on the bottom) on the squat rack pin. This way you're also using the full strength of the wood.

    How much weight do you need for this? Like if I can squat 405 any idea how many plates I'd need on this guy to be effective?

    • @ColtonPhillips19
      @ColtonPhillips19 3 года назад

      For me it’s pretty similar to a regular squat. If you can squat say 300lbs, I doubt you would be able to do more than that for reps on this
