Will I get stuck? log Trucking in the Wisconsin mud
Really freaking awesome. I badly wish I could be an operator for one of these.
They’re fun until they break down. Especially in the cold.
Love that machine. New sub.
From one logger in the northeast can you be profitable in that wood? Looks like a hard go from here. But I don’t know your markets or production.
@@stevenwescott1422 Strong pulp markets here. Most logs are 8’11” for Railroad ties. All types of markets. So, in turn yes. Lots of private land in a DNR program that makes landowners cut wood or pay back taxes.
How many cords does the forwarder carry?
We figure 6-8 depends on where we set our bunks to width wise.
If you're in northern Wisconsin, I'm in Rhinelander I have a couple of jobs, I need done one's pine. Any other ones mostly oak Get hold of me.
Central Wi. Shawano Co.
@@kopitzke55 Do you know anyone up here?
@@Jeff-n9lUnfortunately, I do not.
Was wonder what does a machine like this go for,???? Ball park !!!!!!! No looking to know what you paid just an ESTIMATE….
FYI enjoy the videos
850ish depending on options and tracks and service plan
Cool video. Would be nice to see you do a video of you cutting the pine
Coming soon!
Awesome
How's lift power at 3/4 to full reach compared to the C5?
@@ponsseguy It’s different, up closed better than C5. Our farther no, different boom angle. Cutting off stump, way different. You extenda boom in to lift up. Overall took me 3 hours to ge the hang of it. Cutting more wood now than I was with ergo.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Using grease instead of bar oil might be a good option
I’ll have to see how that works. I’m surprised they didn’t give us the option when we ordered it.
@@kopitzke55 it's possible they don't have that ironed out with this saw unit, idk. @PonsseGuy runs it and would know more about it
@@GreatLakesLogger Huldtins makes a grease system that integrates with the Supercut saw units so no reason they couldn't do it. Someone from Ponsse told me recently that the grease system is popular enough he's sure they won't drop the option.
Huldtins has a grease system that works with the Supercut saw units, not sure if Ponsse offers that on the new heads but they did say the grease option has been popular enough that they can't really drop it
That new Harvesterhead style is cool. And new sound map. I hate the old beep sound from Opti. Is it Opti 5G original sound like that? This is huge machine for those tiny trees
Yes, new sounds. This was smaller wood. Cut some bigger stuff today. I’ll be in some 20 inch average hardwood soon.
@@kopitzke55 okay. With Ponsse Scorpion H6 which I'm operating in Finland, I can process first thinnings and final cuttings. Some trees is too big fot H6 but mostly my woods is okay to ordinary Scorpion.
no boots inside😉
Great video. This kinda style would be good on your lives!
I think so too! It may be possible to do. I can live stream from the action cam
That will stack up good
I see you got the osmo camera! Whatcha think so far?
@@Loggermack pretty good. Trying to figure out how to rip it off the SD faster. My card reader must not be right. Had to use 1/4 footage or it would’ve taken hours.
Need to figure out where my old go pro mounts are tho. I clipped it on the hat holder and she shakes too much
@kopitzke55 did you take it in 4k? Could have been why it took so long.
@@kopitzke55 are you using a computer or phone to upload? The wifi transfer with the Dji Mimo app is pretty fast.
@@SkidderKev yes I did. My Mac is in under an insurance claim I’ll rip the full thing off when it returns.
I like how the tilt runs now that its proportional within the module
Yes. Love it. Head does not bang at all. They said it could be slow in the winter time till oil warms the gel or whatever they use.
Look forward to seeing it run. For youtube i prefer "sideways" or landscape mode.
@@SkidderKev Thanks. New cam & drone can shoot both.
Awesome looking machine. Best thing todo is to video it, great to go back and makesure youdo everythimg right. I do it all the time too
Awesome machine! Let me get a logging hat

Could your do a detailed video of the cabin and new h8? Haven’t seen the newer scorpion up close

Can't wait to see this thing cut wood 💪
Those olofsfor tracks?
Idk how to spell that lol
@@GreatLakesLogger I’m not sure of the brand. I did a deep dive one day and there from South America. Something with an “A”
@@kopitzke55 gotcha. How's the first few days going?
@@GreatLakesLogger I’m in love 🤣
@@kopitzke55 oof! Lol looking forward to seeing it run
Lot of RUclips videos to come hopefully
Nice machine! I got the chance to try out the one I cut next to. I am curious about your opinion of the crane power vs ergo.
@@pinecreeklogging I will know in the next few hours. Just got done cleaning my machine out. Got some saw logs to cut.
@@kopitzke55 you run some wood yet?
@@pinecreeklogging yes I did. Would say boom power is like C5. You just fell different with it. Visibility obviously big plus. So judging lean is way easier. Cutting and pulling wise equal. Traveling is so much faster just because of the leveling
They'll probably need to get some engine and hydraulic power into them as well to be truly competitive in the bigger harvester scene.
@@GreatLakesLogger I’ve never ran one. They pretty weak? Seems well built.
@@kopitzke55 I think they do ok, but they're a little low on horsepower and hydraulic flow. They're a single pump system iirc. I've heard they're super strong as far as pushing and pulling power on the crane.
Hello Hunter! Logger Mac told me about you and said we need to get together for some videos!
Yes, for sure. He said I’m pretty close to you. Tigerton is my area.
Nice looking machine!!!! I still want a hat

Post more videos like this.
Something seems weird about that hose routing....the way the bottom of one cylinder feeds the top of the other? Once the left side lifts, there's no place for the fluid in the "bottom" side of the right cylinder to go...so yeah, it wouldn't move, and yeah, it seems like the fluid would be getting forced past the seal in the right cylinder (but not necessarily because of a failure). I'm not an expert, but it seems like those cylinders need to be in parallel if they are meant to lift together...whereas now they are in series. Long story short....something seems goofy with the hose routing. I could be wrong though. Edit: I compared to some others on Google images, and the hose routing seems the same. So, I dunno? Maybe it is an air bleed issue, and it just needs to be cycled a bunch of times? I don't quite understand what the oil path is from the inlet on the right side...somehow past the seal, to the right outlet(bottom)....which is then connected to the inlet on the left cylinder?
We’re pretty positive it blew the packings out on the new cylinder… Or someone cleaned there old one up and a parts man took it back as a “new” cylinder and ended up coming to us. Either way pretty upset.
@@kopitzke55 It does seem to point to that cylinder. I can see how fluid gets to the top of the right cylinder...but I'm confused how it ends up between bottom right, and top left. It seems like there'd have to be a way to bleed that system....or for fluid to pass the seal initially, to fill up that side. I mean, I understand how compressing the bottom right will apply pressure to the the top left...but how does that side get filled up initially? I'm probably mentally missing something, like some sort of internal check valve...or something.
@@42anon427 it can be done with a duplex cylinder, basically a valve opens allowing bypass only when the cylinder is fully extended.
The 2nd cylinder is filled with oil dead heading the 1st. All air needs to get bleed with both cylinders retracted. Usually there is a bypass valve between the ports on the first cylinder to equalize the 2 cylinders
Right side lifted one time. Left wouldn’t. Think it blew the seal again, and now the left side lifts and right it junk. I bled all air. Hose routing is correct double checked that all.
@@kopitzke55I would think the right cylinder should be a duplex cylinder, look them up there are some good videos how they work. Basically a port should open allowing oil to bypass to the 2nd cylinder only when the 1st is fully extended. When the 2nd cylinder is full with no air it will equalize with the first and always move in sync. It is very important that the displacement of the rod side of the first cylinder match the displacement of the 2nd cylinder. The same effect can be accomplished with a standard cylinder with a manual bypass valve. You can test for bypassing by removing the hose to the 2nd cylinder and feeding oil to the top of the first.
might need a flow restrictor in one of your hoses
Yeah idk wtf is going on there
