Escaping from German weather. Approach like an airliner. They were so friendly to switch the lights on then :) With that weather the only option is staying on ground and having a tea...

What's insane is that's not even the 915is SV. Love the Risen!
Etwas langweilig anzusehen.
Fantastc
So wait.. is it still an ultralight or would i need a pilots license for it
Are the wheels big enough for grass strips?
How much extra fuel was needed from Praia to Natal? How was the weather up there and max altitude? . thanks
Their small so I better take two.

How would it handle a bird strike during that pass?
Great video why you not making any new vides
swiss ...perhaps, presently produce in Italia and desgned by Argentina engineer
Nice.
How much fuel did you need for the flight?
That gives him an average of 255 KPH, pretty good for an Ultralight
Sorry, but that is NOT, an ultralight. The term, “Worlds fastest Ultralight”, is an oxymoron.
The dr killer
Ah, I see the source of confusion; that is, in fact, an _aeroplane_ and needs to be moving forward at a fair clip lest gravity catch up to it and pull it from the sky.
So it weighs 250#'s?
55 mph?
Why would you Bastardize such a beautiful Vtail. Love the plane and the video. 👍👌
Why
In the hands of an unlicensed pilot.... THAT can't be a good thing!
License required
@@c172215s I guess people mix together USA's "ultralight" (no license required, but only applies to motorized hanggliders and such, not sure what's the spec, I think something about speed very low like 75kt), and Europe's "ultralight" - which allows for MUCH faster aircraft, yet does require license. This Risen, in the U.S., can only be an Experimental. And pilot would need a PPL to fly it.
Yah, call that bullshit. If you dive, of course you will gain tremendous speed. I've red-lined a 210 at 270MPH. Doesn't mean that is the cruise speed.
Reminiscent of a WWII fighter around the end of the war.
Just get a pilots license. It's cheaper. I don't know a lot about the rules and regs of flying, but I get the feeling this thing is for pilots who can no longer pass their flight physical.
Erm, cheaper than what? I do have a PPL, live in the U.S. It's not like it gives me access to any aircraft more efficient or, just, better, than this, in any way. Being "ultralight" is NOT for circumventing some sort of pilot license requirement. There just flat out isn't anything on the market that fills this niche better. Alas, this is too fast for either an U.S. Ultralight, or Light-Sport. So in the U.S. - this must be an Experiemental
To me, it looks like an electric RC v-tail, with dubbed sound. Just sayin.......
cool aircraft
That reminds me of the pass that’s getting Trent Palmer’s license pulled 🤔
Imagine the stresses on the airframe! I would also gather that, enjoying the scenery is not a high priority.
Flying is fun. Flying faster is funner.
@@nunziobusiness1509 Then try terrain flying.
@@nunziobusiness1509 Only if the purpose of the flight is to get from point A to point B. For me it is pure fun and enjoying the scenery and not have to constantly worry about staying ahead of the airplane.
The stress is fine the newer air frames have a VNE of 240 knts and is utility rated.
@@CrossWindsPat I’m Ex Air Force and all aircraft are beautiful and to think, that all this started with fabric some dope possibly some bamboo or pine, Sitka spruce and look at it today with all the composite materials. It must be quite the ride at 240kn and itchin to push the envelope.
0 seconds ago Thats 120kt; maybe 125 at best... and its going downhill to get to that speed which drops off to about 100 by the time it reaches the other end... motor isn't even running at full throttle... yep, plenty light sport 912 rotax powered aircraft will hit 175kt down hill... maybe it was flying into a 50kt headwind so the groundspeed caused poor judgement... Its a bit like a modernised 90's Europa Classic with better fowler flaps; that'll do 180kt in level flight with a 914 on a calm day
State the speed in KpH to make it sound better. State it in knots, because planes use knots. 172 .7 knots suddenly doesn't sound all that impressive.
Since most ultralights cruise at <90kts, 172kts is absolutely impressive
Absolutley not an ultralight in a LARGE part of the world...so WORLD fastest Ultralight is a deceptive advertising.
So this video is clearly CLICKBAIT I'll eat my hat if that speed has been fact checked ????
Other countries ultralights do not qualify as an ultralight here. Max speed 50 mph here.
Same as the U.S
Fast but expensive. $215,000
Almost sounds like a Spitfire, awesome!
My thought too
No way is that anywhere near 200.
Because you can judge speeds over distance sooo accurately… 😄
The best feature of an ultralight vehicle is : "To fly Low & slow".
Said by those that couldn’t fly high and fast! 😄
Only for elderly people
@@troyjollimore4100 and you obviously don’t know the legal restrictions placed on these types of aircraft or at least to be classified as the title implies.
@@Roadglide911 Depends on the jurisdiction, and the honesty of the owner… 😉
I think soaring is a better feature. If you take the motor out, Part 103 gives you a lot more leeway. Something like this: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/be/SparrowhawkSailplane2-view.svg/320px-SparrowhawkSailplane2-view.svg.png It stalls far faster than is permitted for powered ultralights. Has very good performance. Breaks the bank. But you don't have to go THAT fancy.
Did anyone else notice the unidentified that went across the path of the plane??? right around 29 seconds on the video.
Yup, that's gonna be yer garden variety gray right there.
I wonder what the fuel burn would be per hour ? I bet it's a arm and a leg !
Look at the horsepower, multiply by 0.50 to get pounds of gasoline per hour. Rotax 912 at 75% power burns 36 pounds per hour which is 6 gallons.
Rotax 912 ULS burns about 4 gallons/hour at ~75% power
No way that's 320..
Bruh. That's MAYBE 250km/h 🤣🤣🤣
Hmmm. Having worked in Indycar for several years, I got pretty used to small vehicles traveling fast mere yards from me. I love homebuilts and I have my Light Sport license, so I love airplanes of all sorts. I'm just saying that this aircraft does not appear to me to be traveling 198mph (329 kph). Seems more like maybe 165 - 170mph to me. But show me the data and I'll gladly shut up, because I WANT this to be true. :)
Yeah man. I've been around airports and airplanes most of my adult life and I thought the same thing. Maybe about 150ish mph.
After watching again, I'm gonna revise my estimate to 130mph. It'd be nice to see some reference data.
What is the speed limit on ultralight aircraft for FAR part 103?
@@garrykennedy5484 very slow 🤣
@@garrykennedy5484 55 knots at full power level flight. Clearly in a dive they can go faster but most FAR 103 ultralights have a VNE between 75 and 95 mph. Other countries use the term ultralight to mean something different from the US term.
Was that Mike patey holding your beer in that clip Eva??
looks like a lot of sailplane trailers
It looks like one of those vintage rc pylon racers but with a canopy
You can do anything you want until you're caught.
Faa wants your license because you did not land and it was in an area where houses might be
lol. Yeah go hit that FAR AIM again buddy
Was a reference to another pilot that got his license pulled because he aborted an off airport landing
Hmm commented when there were 103 comments. Love it but that aint no ultralight.
Disregarding the qualifying as an ultralight in various countries, I believe that true ultralight fans would not be interested in such a rocket--especially considering the price!
