Nothing wrong with that. I just like modern MTH and Atlas because they make what I see out on the rails today

They have a big gap in their lineup of trains. They have cheap plastic battery operated trains then they have the $500 plus o gauge sets but they are very low end and not reliable and then you get into the legacy which is very expensive. I remember getting a Railking starter set and it had the same capabilities and features as the Premier stuff. It was definitely a much better way to get people in the hobby and allow them to expand and grow!

It for most people was a let down, considering how hyped up they made it going into the catalog. I’m sure their are people who are excited for certain thing. For most of us we just see a lot of the same things for a price than it was 2 years ago, with no new features or anything to justify the % increase they chose. The Heisler is cool to see but it’s sad how they made such a small little 15” engine that expensive, it’s more than the set cost when it was released last. You now also have no cars to buy with it. Lord knows what a log car would even cost now. The price increases and the decrease in quality is the main issue.

@@TJsModelTrainsOkay those are fair points. Well maybe part 2 of the catalog will be better. They always release 2 catalogs a year right? Do we know when part 2 drops?

@@JSRFModCentralthey usually have a Vol 2 around fall York. I sure hope for the guys who like Lionel they do a better job for volume 2. Atleast give them something new and unique!

@TJsModelTrains Yeah that's just my idea like what if I made a Lionel train simulator that you can built your own railroad layout, railroad tracks and selected any locomotives and cars from the classic to 2025. Right now my channel has not grown yet and yet I'm still in school but almost to my graduation.

Yeah, what’s sad is how many people just defend the pricing. The other two manufacturers can make a profit with a lower MSRP so I don’t see why Lionel can’t.

I actually have a pair of RMT 36’ woodside reefers. I think they are an excellent item of the price. I personally don’t like the roller bearing type trucks on them but that’s solely a nitpick of mine. I think they are great cars. I want to check out one of their scale boxcars at some point

@TJsModelTrains yeah I personally dont own any RMT actually didn't hear of them till recently but will be buying some in the near future wonder if they make any passenger car sets? Do you know? But yeah with RMT I won't be buying Lionel cars again unless I'm at a train show at those places used cars for 20 to 35$ yeah and only than thanx 4 responding my comment

@@daivdwalker2374I know they just got into the “Scale” rolling stock. Far as I know they have Ore cars, Boxcars, tank cars and reefers in their scale level at this point.

I definitely think they leave a lot of things left out. As of late especially for diesel locomotives it’s a wash rinse repeat cycle of the same 4 models. I do understand there are more paint schemes and such but how many ES44s need to be made haha

I agree, I am pretty much a sole MTH or atlas purchaser. Always have great luck with their items.

I will always speak my mind and my thoughts haha. It’s just who I am. I too am not a fan of fantasy schemes. It’s just not my cup of tea.

Funny enough I bet the MPC era stuff even has “low quality” as people have called them in the past will still be working long past the modern stuff. Sometimes I do think all this is way to complicated but I grew up with it, it’s what I know and I love making the models look more like prototype! Do appreciate ya watching and enjoying the video!

@ Yup, MPC made some good trains. Their reputation is undeserved. I have a number of MPC locomotives and cars that are just fine. When you look at what the inherited, they basically saved Lionel.

The old stuff take it and run the heck out of it and it still continues to run. Great stuff,no gimmicks built to last. Simple maintenance.
