    That feeling of being stupid for not realizing you should get something to hold the onion that isn't your fingers.

    So i have a few questions as i have to start doing this as part of a job: 1. Is the technique maintained with a particular way the knife is held, as well as the size and shape? 2. How do you keep the melon handled so well on a wet board?

    • @friedrichef455
      @friedrichef455 Год назад

      1.The better way to have a good grip is to pinch the blade with your thumb and index, it makes all the difference because now you don't hold a knife anymore, the knife become an extension of the hand so you can work like this for hours. 2.Don't focus on the melon, it holds itself because of the weight, plus you cut a base, the board is textured, so is the melon 3.Just trust yourself, the more you cut , the more you improve

    A little thin but a good way to cut them how do you do that without them burning your eyes?

    • @friedrichef455
      @friedrichef455 6 лет назад

      Hi! There is not really any trick, the thing is to use a sharp knife to avoid tearing the cells of the onion, which makes the gas release more quickly!

    • @gettalife5501
      @gettalife5501 6 лет назад

      Friedrichef thanks for the tip I’ll try that! I also would suggest if you run across Vidalia onions try those hardly any burn at all.

    • @friedrichef455
      @friedrichef455 6 лет назад

      Yes, you are totally right. In general, red onions are stronger but interesting because of the color and the sweetness too. Perfect for salads!
