Fast Friends Fieldtrip #2 - Calico
Просмотров 2110 месяцев назад
We took off to Calico for a short weekend full of great food, drinks, and sights. Took the little guy along to spend some time but I would be facing my first battle with homesickness and ultimately took my guy home on night one. Beyond that, the rest of the weekend was rad. From seeing Calico Ghost Town, Eddie World, Peggy Sue's 50's Diner and a quick stop on the way back to Slash X Cafe, it wa...
EP8 - PROJECT TWOBARU - Much Needed Protection! ASFIR Skid Install on our Subaru Crosstreks
Просмотров 14510 месяцев назад
We can't even begin to state how important skids are for any vehicle that enjoys spirited drives down mountain roads. From rocks, to whoops to unforeseen objects, skids can make the difference between simply banging out a piece of metal to a costly repair that can run in the thousand-dollar range (like a transmission oil pan - more to come on that in a future video). Huge thanks to ASFIR OFFROA...

EP 6 - Project TWOBARU - WARN Bumper/Winch/Factor 55 install & Real-World Beach Recovery in Pismo.
Просмотров 14211 месяцев назад
With most of the boxes checked, Ali and Eric set their sights on a valuable and neccessary element to their builds, self-recovery. And it's done by way of installing a WARN front bumper, Warn AXON 5500 winch with synthetic line and some FACTOR 55 goods. And just in time too as an overland trip to Pismo forces the duo to do an impromptu recovery in the deep sand of the beach. WARN.com Factor55.c...
EP 5 - To Lock or Not to Lock? There's no question with the Subaru Crosstrek!
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.11 месяцев назад
In an effort to bring you the most unbiased opinion on this Torqlocker upgrade, we leave Ali's car uninstalled and take both vehicles up in the hills of Silverado Canyon to see if lockers really live up to the hype. While soft-roading gains in popularity with these smaller more fuel efficient cars, they aren't crawlers by any means. But if you're the type of person who might find yourself in a ...

EP 3 - PROJECT TWOBARU - our Subaru Crosstreks get a new rack with Front Runner Outfitters.
Просмотров 10711 месяцев назад
So your average Crosstrek while roomy still lacks the space for all the things. And in regular fashion we're throwing everything we'll need for a few days of fun in the wild into these rigs and needed a storage solution that would allow us to take some of the stuff and place it on top of the vehicle rather than crammed into the interior. The Front Runner Outfitters Slimline II rack is a sleek a...

From the ashes of King of the Hammers w/ an engine fire, Atteberry Motorsports #4693 never say die.
Просмотров 6611 месяцев назад
During pre-running car number 4698 encountered a fault on their fuel rail dumping around 3 gallons of fuel into the engine bay. While managing to stop the fire before it completely burned down the vehicle, the next handful of days would have them scrambling with all hands on deck to get her running and on course. And they did. It’s a great story of an amazing family who doesn’t quit. Year over ...

PODCAST | EP9 Living on the Edge Part 1
I just wish the Goose Gear system had drawers. They probably figured the trunk was too shallow for that, but having to take stuff off to get into the storage space is a bummer. And what happened to the spare on the swing out? The inside edge is worn to the cords!
yes
Would have been better to just buy a Trek?
Very cool defender I really like it.
In a way in not surprise the country accessory is available but I always thought LRs and RRs tailored too a different friend--posers, country club types... Never go"off-road"... Just city driving
Breakdown... BREAKDOWN.
Nah real Defenders finished years ago now you have to go for a Grenadier or LWB Jeep rubicon
Mehn this build is on another level.. Good stuff.
Where can I buy the bull bar please
Not enough of these defender rigs, best ive seen (only one ive seen like this tbf)
Curious to where you get the higher quality connectors. Was hoping to see how wires were run thru firewall but with wireless app for Spod....no need.
Noiice
Gary is alegend for his build cant wait to see the new defenders take to the wilderness
Lovely touches on this beast!! Would love to get those speaker plate to mount that kickass mobile holders!
What front Bumber do they have install on the crosstreks and do they helo with angle of approach?
Hey Jared, they are the WARN Industries front bumper (Eric actually also runs an F44 rear bumper which has greater departure angle over stock), there is a full video on the WARN bumper and winch install as well as a small recovery in Pismo beach featuring their phone app in our playlist. To your other question, we haven't measured approach angles and I don't think there's going to be much different given how it integrates into the stock bumper. So far we've found it to be a great mount for our WARN AXON 5500 and KC Slimlite lights but it definitely deforms pretty well when it's bashed into little things. We think the steel could be thicker. - Ali FastFriends.Fun
This is good for the african terrain more especially on anti poaching operations for the Lower Zambezi National Park escarpment
Do you still have it what tires do you have on it?
nice front bumper, is that available in the USA
Amazing car Bro ❤
Very good defender
Thanks Ali! that was a lot of fun to do! I appreciate the invitation and thanks for making this offroad community so 7ricken Awesome!
Yeyeas 🎉
Nice job 👌 Is the colour eiger grey ? Do you mind sharing the interior/trim details pls ?
excellent video... did you have "x-mode" activated here?
Yes. I've heard it manages the AWD system better for gravel, though i've also heard it really works better for downhill speed managment...at any rate we had it on for both vehicles when we tested.
Question: So if I have an older Crosstrek (2017) without the Xmode… it sounds like the TORQ locker might help… but I would be better off getting a Crosstrek with the Xmode?
@@karlsturzebecher9463 Hey Karl, we haven't really noticed the benefits of XMode in it's full glory yet, but have definitely enjoyed the locker. Take that for what it's worth, I mean I had XMode the whole time when we did the test. Also, I don't have anything like that on my JEEP...analog over digital all day long! (Until I drive a car that really knows what it's doing). Honestly the Subary needs 50 more HP and the opportunity to throw the girl into 4 Low. Thanks for the question, - Ali FastFriends.fun
Absolutely love it 💯👍
Such a great trip!!!!
Epic! Love it (says Daniel and LongCruiser)
Solid recap! We get to see what KOH is all about. And to think, that was 2 full days and 3 nights. I didn’t realize how late you stayed Friday night! 😆
Rad! Bummed I couldn't make it.
Me too!! 😢
Love that fromt bumper
I got mine with no third row and 18" steel wheels from the factory.
Why didnt you just use portals
Yes, it will greatly improve my mental health.
Toyota’s are built for dirt.
Giving a light just for the opening comment of “let’s see much money you’ve dumped into this thing“. Has a lot of us in this hobby know, there are very few, if any cheap upgrades to make it a more off-road, worthy vehicle, whether we have a General Motors product, a Chrysler product, a Toyota product, etc..
The rear end is sagging
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I hope this is prep for a world trip, and not merely to impress his mates at the caravan park like so many other money guzzling projects people undertake out of boredom for which they'll never get decent use out of or be reasonably compensated for upon future sale. But hay, it looks nice. 😂
I had one when they released. I used it for car camping and light exploring, but don't think I'd spend money to equip it with sliders and M/Ts on it. I did have a dual battery setup though! Just my personal preference. I'm not knocking this gorgeous build. I like to tackle tough technical stuff and disliked all the wheel lifting it did, where they are fully independent suspension. It was a blast for EVERYTHING else! Rallying on dirt roads, car camping and road trips is where they shine!
Really nice and great work 👍 I am not designer expert , but one day will buy a modified car like this. ❤❤❤
can it take a turn? 😂 Those wheels look cool.
all it takes is money money!!!
😮
What happens when you lift it up manually how the suspension button will work inside?
What mounting brackets did you use for the awning?
What size tires are they? True 35s or something metric? I assume just lifter rods and intercooler relocation to clear?
please send link for that slide system in the back please
a clean build
MONSTER♥️
Defender Rocks!!!
