The Glider Pilots Association reports the following information: Throughout India and Burma between January 9th 1944 and the 23rd of April 1945, out of a total number of 415 sortie about 194 CG-4A gliders were recovered. No gliders were recovered from the Sicily operation (9 July 1943), the invasion of southern France (15 August 1944) nor Bastogne (26 - 27 December 1944). ww2gp.org

@@Idahoguy10157according to WW2talk and other sources 97 percent of the gliders used by American forces in the Normandy landings were left to rot in narrow pastures in which they landed. It just wasn’t a priority for us and a lack of qualified crews according to some research. Again, thanks for watching and commenting

@@TheAmericanLandscape : sorry. A stope is a chamber left after drill blasting an adit to cone up under the strike ( mineralized fault ) so that when you blast out the ore it falls down into your ore cart saving you time and most importantly gruelling effort. You keep going up till it peters out. The chamber left is the stope. Normally square setted. Hope that helps. Hey you know Jeff williams ? Tell him Scottish Graeme sent u.
