UFO "Love to Love" Live Hard Rock Hell Festival 2010
UFO, with Vinnie Moore, live 2010. I filmed this with a Panasonic NV-GS21 - which was just about okay for the time but, in 2024, it's really not great so please excuse the quality. I only recorded this one song.
Hope you enjoy

SUGAR (Bob Mould) HELPLESS Guitar Lesson
Просмотров 191Месяц назад
Copper Blue, by Bob Mould's Sugar, is a landmark album in terms of loud guitars and melody. Released on Creation Records in September 1992. It was voted 1992 Album of the Year by the NME. All of the songs were written by guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould, who also co-produced with Lou Giordano. Musically, the band continues the thick punk guitar of Mould's previous band, Hüsker Dü, while slowing the...

From the TED NUGENT album FREE FOR ALL, this is my take on the guitar parts for STREET RATS. As ever, it's just my take. I left the main lead work up to Uncle Ted. HEAVY METAL Sunday at Dunsy's: Episode 1

Let's look at a landmark in Heavy Metal History from June 1981. I might start doing this kinda content as a weekend livestream, but I figured it best to test the waters out with a coupla pre-recorded video's first. In this one we find a very excited elderly Scottish Heavy Metal fan reminiscing about a magazine from his youth. Not the kind of jazz magazine that you and your friends would find di...

TED NUGENT, the Motor City Madman! FLESH AND BLOOD, from the SCREAM DREAM album, what a riff! Here is my easy to play guitar lesson for this fine tune. Note: In the video I mention an E Minor Chord in the intro, but it's actually E Major. Apologies for that. Scream Dream is the sixth studio album by American hard rock musician Ted Nugent. I Want You, by Cheap Trick, is the opening track on the album One on One, released in 1982. Written by guitarist Rick Nielsen, this is a fine uptempo rocker. Fist (also known as Myofist outside of North America) is a hard rock/heavy metal band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that was formed in 1979. DOUBLE OR NOTHIN' is taken from the 1981 album FLEET STREET - although the album was released as THUNDER IN ROCK in the UK. I first heard this song (I'm sure) on a free flexi single that was given away in an issue of KERRANG! magazine. As ever, this is jus...
VARDIS Living Out of Touch Guitar Cover - Classic NWOBHM
Просмотров 542 месяца назад
100 MPH by VARDIS is one of my favourite albums - huge influence when I started playing. STEVE ZODIAC was the quintessential guitar hero in his bare feet, bare chest and low slung TELECASTER. Although very much associated with the NWOBHM movement, Vardis to my ears anyway, were much more on the boogie side of things. A truly great band. The only time I actually would see Kerrang magazine was in Walden Books stores which were in malls. They were too pricey for me as a kid because Hit Parader, Circus, Metal Edge, Faces, and Rip magazines were like $3.50 and those Kerrangs were like $8.00

Hi Dunsy. A fan of both channels here. As a long time useless guitarist, with only a repertoire of power chords and easy riffs, even after years of playing, your channel was a godsend. Among my pals i was the one who couldn’t really keep to tempo or get through anything without a screw up somewhere. I came across your play through of UFO’s Letting Go. A real favourite of mine. You made it look properly playable so I copied you. Straightforward and no faffing. And I could play it end to end in no time. Then ‘The Writer’, all the Cheap Trick stuff and many more. I’m over the moon about all this thanks to these channels. The presentation and the playing have helped no end. Thanks so much.

I really enjoyed that! The only Diamond Head I know is the Borrowed Time album, my brother had it back in the eighties. Based on this song though, I need to check out the Canterbury album. Sounds like that guitar part is in 7/4 but the drums are playing in 4/4, I love stuff like that but it can be awkward to play.

Aye, it's a tricky one to keep going! It sounds like the snare moves the beat in places and swaps with the bass drum? And the middle bit is some Prog time, lol! It's a great album - although much maligned at the time as it was a major departure from their earlier material. Definitely worth checking out.
