Cool playing. What would compare this too, Classic vibe or player tele?
@@mike70s hey thank you - I haven’t really tried the Player stuff but this would definitely compete with the vibe series. Worth a look anyway if you find one in the wild. I know a few local players using these as a spare 👍
@nathanleonardmusic thanks mate, much appreciated
Everybody’s talking at me is one of my all-time favorite songs. Why did you entitle your video everybody’s talking at me and you didn’t play that song ??
@@mikepenna3340 it’s a guitar lesson
Lost me
@@nathanleonardmusicare you okay my friend?
@@mikepenna3340😂😂😂 good point
Is the neck small or just right?
Geez hard to say, it's so personal! Felt good from what I remember, not like the Luke EBMMs anyway
I found it thin, but I haven't played in years.
Wonderful guitar ! Great sounds too. Why did you place à buffer à the end of the board ?
@@alibaba4848 Boosting signal at the start and end of the board made everything sound better. I’ve updated this board now (new Gear Talk video on my channel). Merci!
I'm hearing Bébé le Strange in that turnaround.
Great ideas! Thanks for giving me another months worth of practice
@@neilhawkins1 Awesome to hear mate - keep going!
Would you recommend this over the blade Levinson Delta Standard? That roasted neck is quite the looker
Hello! I haven't actually played that one, sorry. These Levinsons are pretty great though for the money - I enjoyed playing this one lots. My feeling is that the entry level beginner guitars have better specs than they used to if you don't mind we're they get manufactured. Good luck!
Can you please do a video on how you got this tone?
Maybe it comes from the Alan Hinds version (havent listened), but in BB's the Ab dom7 is an Ab maj7. I have a hard time not hearing it that way. Great lesson though and I really dig the Zep quotation. Thanks!
Yeah okay cool I'll check it out - the Ab chord here is an inversion of the Fm (Fm9/C) and then an Ab9 in the turnaround. SO many ways to handle a minor blues so have some fun with it and experiment with your sounds & licks. Cheers!
Great lesson mate, concise but thorough, and the little dip into alternative voicings was really helpful!
@@mam7414 hey thanks so much mate, glad you got found it helpful!
Five hundred and one now :)
@@ver251209 Yay! Welcome aboard :)
All gold. Embellishments be used in funk and rhythm. New subscriber.
@@amandamoore8516 hey thanks so much - glad you got something helpful from it 👍🎶
How did you get that tone?
@@yusufallie3089 That’s all coming from the Fractal FM3 with a RC Booster in front of the unit. Guessing it would have been the Vibroverb amp model (this was done a while ago can’t quite remember sorry)
@@nathanleonardmusic I'm speachless
What amp are you using, that warm tone sounds like a Fender Strat, my Cort G256 had a similar tone
@@yusufallie3089 yeah the Cort is a great little guitar 👍
@@nathanleonardmusic have you tried the Cort 280?
Nice playing and nice guitar!
@@kylersmith709 hey thanks - this is my Kinman Blueprint. Check them out!
great video with helpful explanation!!
@@keshumphries9691 thanks! I tried to get something in there for the beginner, intermediate and advanced player!
Magnolia...
Is the Bb a major 7 chord I used Bb13, dominant sound that sends you to the Ebmaj7 chord
Yeah that would work! I use a Bbmaj.9 voicing in the verses here which I really think of as Gm9/Bb. I interchange with the Bb7 (or 13 would work also) as we head towards the Ebmaj7. Remember: if it sounds good, then it probably is! Thanks for your question :)
I was speaking in regard to the Bb13 chord, it contains Ab instead of A natural . . . As well: Fmi7 Bd13 to Ebmaj7 Perfect ii V7 to I
@@fredtibbetts291 Yep makes perfect sense in theory but don't think I'm playing a Bb13 in this video? I mainly think of it as a Bbmaj7/Gm9 voicing to bring out some jazzy flavours.
Less talk, more play :) if you’re gonna review a guitar please play it
Less comment, more read - there's a link in the description to the 'no-talk playing demo'. Here's another one that just went up too ruclips.net/video/ec9a_sDmrZw/видео.html
Do you like this guitar ???
Yeah I thought it was great! Made me question some of the more expensive guitars I have. Great workshorse instrument that you don't worry about too much at your gigs :)
That tone, wtf is that real!!!!! Omg!
Excelente toque, esto si es música!!! 😃
Gracias!
Like the way you mentioned the paint is gonna relic by playing it, its kinda cool that making your own marks on it.
Totally! I'm actually enjoying the self-relicing process. It feels more honest! Thanks :)
I love your videos, I just find I miss part of the things you say that are kinda advanced or new to me I would really like to see a song explained more throughly and with some background, maybe on the chord progressions and how you spice them up, or maybe even a little theory, I think it would be really useful to a lot of people, and I feel you can do that! I really hope so, keep it up :)
Thanks for the kind words. I do my best with these vids but it's hard to cover everything in a short video like this. Happy to answer any questions but you also don't need to know all the theory for something to sound good either. Thanks again :)
beautiful jem, my dream guitar but white :(
Yeah, great guitars! The white Jems from early to mid-2000s are the ones to get apparently.
got mine 3 weeks ago from maloolabah music $4,400 waited 25 years for 1 , love it !!
Thank You...❤❤
Wtf do you mean?
Cool. It's kind of a similar concept to what he does on "Going Down Slow"
Yes for sure! Thanks for watching :)
Great lesson ❤…Love Clapton and especially the bootleg sessions…picked up a really good groove from this one…please share more of this in the near future…Love the Blues etc🤙🎸🎶
Yeah these recordings are gold. Laidback and listenable. Glad you enjoyed the lesson - I'll try and do more of this stuff in the future. Thanks!
Thanks for the lesson Nathan, great ideas to map out the fretboard. Btw the poster wall looks great. How long did it take to collect all the pieces then fix them to the wall?
Thanks - glad you found it useful! Yeah the wall was a quick fix for a daggy ply wall. I googled ‘vintage concert posters’ and hit the colour printers then a couple of days with the PVA glue and paintbrush. Came up good!
Hello
nice tele tone...
Thanks the Brent Mason Tele is really great
Nice rendition of a great tune, well played and quite different from most of Cales'. Any chance of displaying the tabs? btw Original Cale version is in F# while most of his other versions are in E.
Hey thanks for the info! Yeah I'm just presenting songs how I play them in my bands mostly so may deviate from the originals. No tabs sorry - we just use our ear around here :)
Thank you! I subscribed to your channel immediately.
Thanks so much!
Very well done.
Thank you kindly!
JJ has so many great tunes - Woman that got away another great one ! Thanks for this
Cool thanks I’ll check that one out!
Very helpful! Thank You! Please do some more videos. This is a quick easy learn from basic to much better fast, which i and i’m sure many others really appreciate!!!

Thanks for your excellent instruction and for putting me onto Jack Pearson, how did I miss him?!
Jack is the man!
RUclips settings: 1080p, 720p, 360p ... but this was recorded at what, 4p?
Haha just a humble iPhone bud
Thank You...❤❤
Nice! J.J. Cale had his own way of playing, that's for sure. I'm not good at Chet Atkins style, but it's nice to see the chords and runs.
Yes for sure - J.J. is the man! I suggest that focusing on the rhythm and groove with your runs is worthwhile practice. Thanks :)
Great stuff. Too many RUclips guitar instructors think a lesson can be aimed at everyone from absolute beginners to intermediate. They can’t. Your lesson is a nice early intermediate lesson.
Hey thanks so much - it's a pretty casual lesson format here on my channel. Hope you got something out of it.
I’m waiting for the tutorial up To now only narcissistic tones far to much over enffasis on your ability stop Fannying and teach your not as good as you think you seem to have any natural ability do people when they come to see you or co they walk out your not playing for the people but yourself disappointed
Hahaha thanks
The Ego Comp & RC Booster are always on pedals for me too. They just add to the base tone. Great pedalboard btw!
Yes absolutely - a great way to kickstart the signal chain. The RC just keeps that top end sparkle and the mix option on the Ego Comp is my fave. Thanks for the kind words!
Nathan, you are one Smoove player! Rock on!!!!.
Thank you kindly!
Hello, new subscriber here. Do you use a looper pedal or considered using one for your tutorials?
Yep, will be adding one to the tutorials very soon. Definitely a good idea to hear melodic ideas against the chords. Thanks 😀
Thank You...❤
You're welcome 😊
