Hi, does the E6 interface show AoA, face and path data?
so the thing i have now noticed about the garmin r10 videos is that in not 1 video is an amateur or beginner who is hitting the ball with a R10. all are guy who are pretty good at hitting the ball straight. i am eager to know if a person who slices a ball used the R10 to help them fix this issue and if the R10 actually and correctly detects the slicing problem
How much distance from hitting net is required to track the shots?
Appreciate your R10 if you have one…I work at a private club who has a Trackman… our head pro allowed me to compare my R10 to our Trackman and the results were very similar which is HUGE for the Approach R10 unit!!! For anyone using this in your simulator, I highly recommend getting a usb c to hdmi cord rather than mirroring! Completely cuts out lag!

Nice work! Thanks for the video. Have you tried to purposely top the shot and see how the R10 goes? or even purposely mishit ? Would be interesting to see how it reports the numbers.
I contacted Garmin in Denmark asking about the E6 content and received the following reply. I talked to one of my Swedish colleagues that are using the Approach R10 himself, and he confirms that yes, those 5 are free to use without any other subscriptions. You will in the Garmin Golf app receive a voucher with a code that you need to provide in order to unlock it.

Can you project to a TV?
you should be able to to, using airplay on a iOS device or the HDMI adapter is you want wired, for android devices you should be able to use chrome cast, or MHL which a lot of Android devices have if you want wired
Whats the minimum distances the R10 recognize? No puts... But very short chip/ or bump and run?
The shortest I have tried is about 10yds and that’s been good, I will try something shorter
And what about that lawn? Did you ever get around to mowing it? Can I suggest you subscribe to lawn tips for inspiration.
I did, prior to getting a dog a year ago, my lawn was really good, I was quite obsessed with it..however, the dog had put paid to my ideas of a nice lawn, now, anything slightly green is a bonus

Hi Shaun i got my R10 today. I have the garmin connect app on my iphone and will download the app to my iPad. When it comes to the e6 free courses can you download/use them on both the iPhone and iPad? Wasn’t sure if you could only use on one once you’ve selected the e6 courses. For instance if I choose the iPhone first and use the e6 course on that device could I still then use e6 on the iPad? Hope this makes sense keep up the good content.
I believe that the licence is linked to a single device

Hopefully take to range today so I basically just got it up and running and logged into E6 for the free courses.
Does this device have a setting to convert range ball data to premium ?

thanks for posting this Shaun! when it comes to the green/fairway sizes, did you actually measure the width by adjusting the aim/distance marker and doing some math? or are you just going on gut feel?
pretty much gut feel, but I was also using how far I ended up from the pin to give some context
it would be great if you could tweak the penalty % of Rough and Bunker shots to make it harder....
that would be awesome, I will have another go and try and land in tougher spots and see what it does
Do you know how big the Course downloads are by any chance?
from the speed of download, pretty small, probably about 50mb
@@shaunsshanks8111 Are you asking about the courses in Home Tee Hero or the courses in E6? For E6, the size of the 5 included courses range from 130MB to 209MB. You can play E6 connect offline once you have downloaded the course though you will have a "no internet connection" warning that does not affect gameplay.

How accurate is the distance with the driver?
pretty good, for me its been within 5 yards so far
also wondering if you can "cast" the Iphone screen to the TV?
you should be able to using airplay
Thanks for the video. Considering buying one of these for the winter garage range. How realistic is the gameplay from behind a tree? Does it block you out from hitting full shots? force you to chip out?
You have to chip/punch out - you cannot hit through a tree though the number of trees in the game will most likely be much less than at the real course.
Shaun firstly thanks for the video. Can you map your bag ie does it give averages for each club then that gets recorded in the main garmin golf app? And do you get a mini game in e6? Also does e6 have all the driving range different pitch shots included ie 60 yard 70yard etc?
I didn't see a way to map your bag, E6 does not have the mini games and the driving range only allows you to adjust flag position

So can you not use E6 connect via the R10 using a laptop? Only iOS?
Half correct, the r10 comes with 5 free course on e6 that only work on iOS, you can buy or subscribe to e6 on pc where you get something like 25 courses, online play and games, as well as amazing graphics

There is no windows support for the device, I had to purchase a new android tablet to use as the screen on my phone was too small. Contacted Garmin and there is no windows support. Seems like they are missing a huge part of the market here
Thank you so much for doing this!! Do you think the home tee hero courses are accurate enough to still enjoy using them or do you think you'll default to the free/paid E6 courses for simulator use?I have one pre-order and love the idea of home tee hero to player other courses, but if they don't really match than it might be frustrating
I think I will use both, e6 for a serious round, but home tee hero will be fun to give courses a try, I may never have a chance of playing them, but I can see it being really good fun which a bunch of friends
Does the simulation aspect properly depict shots to the right or left? For example my miss is usually to the right sometimes way right! Will that show up on the simulation part?
It sure does, on the second hole of home tee hero I hit that right quite badly, it was think and necky which is why it ended up short and right
What about fat and thin shots... or bad shots in general? Have u tried some of these on purpose? Do u compare this LM to skytrak or it's more like Optishot Ones?
Fats and thins behave exactly as they would in real life, I have not used optishot, but it is a straight competitor to the skytrak in my opinion (I used to own a skytrak, and if both units were at skytrak price I would go for the garmin)

Thanks for the video Shaun, can you please try with ''Almost Golfballs" to see how the ball tracking works. Thank you.
I will order some, however, I would not expect them to work, the radar is tracking ball speed v club speed v club path and using calculated spin, almost balls will impact the ball speed to club speed ratio and throw everything else off..there is no ball type adjustment in the software so I would expect the numbers to be way off

Have you tried to purposefully slice and hook the ball. I’m curious how the ball flight is when you do this?
I have done my best, the ball flight has a slight curve to it, the offline is about right, but the actual way the ball seems to fly in the app is not great. I will do some ore on this, most of my shots are draws or cuts, I’m Not really skilled enough to hit hooks and slices on demand, but will try
What are the free courses on e6? Is it any good?
Aviary Golf Club, Brandon Dunes, Sanctuary Golf Club, Stone Canyon Golf Club and Wade Hampton Golf Club
So is the accuracy very similar to the skytrack into a net? I have an outdoor net and am wondering on the accuracy. Please let me know, thanks!
Yes, very close, having owned both there is very little between them so far

@@shaunsshanks8111 Been looking for the accuracy comparison between skytrack vs G10 or even Rasodo vs G10 into an outdoor net. Would you say that the G10 is a good buy for a mid handicapper who is trying to work on their dispersion and accuracy??
Thanks for posting videos while we all wait for ours to come in! After having it for a few days now, how does it compare to the skytrak? Do you find the club path and face to path to be accurate? Also, are the driver and 3 wood yardages fairly accurate compared to your normal distances? Thanks again!
The carry numbers and spin are very close to my numbers, I used to own a skytrak and got all my numbers from there. I am finding the garmin just as accurate certainly within the limits of a average or good strike, my driver is down maybe 5yds at most, everything else is very close, close enough to use on the course. The club path and face to path do seem to be accurate, it’s an area I have been working on for a long time, and go on trackman with a coach to try and improve, I have been able to use the numbers over the last few days to help me sort my path out, I am now getting the strike and flight info when I am on trakman

Do you feel the data is accurate while playing into a net? Any plans to make it to a driving range this week? I would love to hear more about the accuracy of the device without a net.
I have been to the driving range, and know my numbers fairly well from previously owning a skytrak. Carry is very close, on driver maybe 5yds short but I was not swinging great, so far, all irons seem to be very close to my numbers

I am afraid so, although you can end the round at any time, I couldn’t see way to select specific holes to play

I will, although to be honest not sure what to show on it, as it is exactly the same as the mevo+ or skytrak in the launch monitors provide the data to e6 which then processes it, so the visuals and data presentation are the same for all launch monitors.
Does the r10 have a shot history view? Would love to see like 3 shots with a certain club, there numbers and the grouping and how well all that works on the garmin app if it's there

Do you really think you swung 10 mph faster between the two swings in the video? 68 vs 78 seems like a big jump. The first swing had a 1.24 smash while the second swing would have had a 1.10, yet almost identical spin rates? I do question the accuracy based on the small samples you provided. Thanks for sharing, and please post more.
I did, I was taking it very easy, snd the second one was a terrible strike. I have used it more over the last few days, my normal swing speed with a 6i is 83-84 mph which is what I am now up to. Spin does seem to be down about 500rpm now I am up to normal speed (replaced the net so can now go for it)

Could you confirm if E6 content came free with the R10? I contacted Garmin just over a week ago and had this response: : E6 Connect content is not included with the device at the moment

If you can, could you do something on the Home Tee Hero mode please? I'm just wondering if every game has to be a full 18 hole game, or if you can choose just certain holes, front 9 etc. Not sure I want a full 18 hole game every time! Thank you

I ordered as soon as it was available on pre order, I used golfgeaedirect in the U.K., I think I just got lucky
Great first-look at the E6 for Garmin! Was this from your outdoor net setup? If so, how far is the net from your tee location? Garmin claims 8-foot minimum.
Glad you lied it, it was in the net, the tee is exactly 8 ft from the net and the garmin was 7ft behind the tee
