    It’s fascinating how much of our youth, when we are in our prime, we spend thinking about things that we can’t change, and judging ourselves so harshly, when it is something we can learn to change. Learning to be kinder and less judgmental of ourselves is such a game changer. We are all miraculously beautiful and unique. Love your content so much, it really connects.

      🙌😀I just love how you show us the photos of the shadow that inspired your sketch, which then becomes a digital artwork, and then becomes content for this awesome video! • @hellodie
      @hellodie 3 месяца назад

      Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🥰 For the digital overlays, I basically redrew each drawing digitally!! While editing, I took screenshots of the clips I wanted to add an overlay to, screenshots that I sent to my phone to create each overlay! To do that, I simply traced the original image on a separate layer, so I could download that layer as a transparent PNG (I use ibisPaint X) I hope this helps! ❤️

    Would you also like them as much if you saw someone else post them? Be honest!😂

    • @hellodie
      @hellodie 4 месяца назад

      That's actually a really good question! On one hand I feel like I'd like them more because I am a little harder on myself than I am on others (I'm more prone to criticising my own work than other people's) but on the other, since I AM harder on myself, maybe I am amazed at these artworks BECAUSE, after many occasions where I'm not happy with what I draw and where I'm at with my art skills, they stand out from all of the others by being "adequate". They surprise me with how decent they are, and this "surprise" element wouldn't happen had someone else drawn them (I don't think), because I don't doubt other people's skills. All it comes down to with this second hypothesis is the fact that the bar of expectations is much lower with myself than it is with others. Does that make sense?? Plus the fact that I had fun drawing these does play a part in how I feel about them, so, if you take out the fun and the act of doing them, then maybe I WOULD oh so slightly like them a tiny teenie bit less if they had been drawn by someone else?? But again, I do find it easier to admire other people's work than I do my own, sooooo... yes and no?? 😂 Did I read way too much into it? Maybe haha (though you are allowed to like your work simply because you think it turned out great. Just like you are allowed to find your own drawings inspiring, it doesn't make you vain if you do!)

    I am a bit late but as someone who hasn't read the book either but might at some point (I spot it somewhere near so i might get it someday) but I have seen several movies of this studio before also. Also I might be a bit mean but I don't have a lot of respect of what happened behind the scenes. This was the most mid-est movie from Ghibli ever, and they do have some stinkers amongst some real masterpieces, so it's just not you, but I do think it's onw of those movies where people are more enamoured by the aesthetics and the idea of it than the actual movie. Because in comparison to something like spirited away it just looks like a pretty piece of cut glass instead of genuine gem of a movie. The movie wastes a lot of time meandering in some scenes rather than awnsering questions. Also another thing that I got from it is how much the director continuously his own ideas before others including the book author, in the produciton of this movie the studio hired a movie director and while they were working on the story board, miyasaki was vague about his ideas while simultaneously expecting the new hired members to read his mind and would often fight people for not doing his vision, and also considering japans infamous working conditions, this guy was no better and dude is so old he was refusing the use of technology to help the animators with some scenes, which granted did look beautiful but could have helped finished them with a lot less grueling effort and a lot less crunch. But Yeah miyasaki the secret puppet master of this whole movie and the whole reason it's so disjointed because he ony allowed his ideas to be put on screen, and I did feel very obvious to me, he does tend to put his ideals in his movies, which in the case of it being an original story I don't mind, but when it comes to an adaptation, it hurt A LOT. So yeah you are not alone and I really despised the absolute disrespect of the authors vision, his co-workers vision, he just used everyone as a platform for his own shpiel. Best part, is that he has always been like that, it's just that he gets marketed as a nice person, but considering Japan's culture and work ethic the truth is often the oposite, not always, the first director who got hired created his own studio after this shitshow and learned from this horrible experience.

    i’m late but you’re not the only one! i didn’t read the book, and i still found it terrible. i just watched it last night and i have so many thoughts. i also had high expectations and after watching it i was left so confused on how this is such a liked film. the art style was beautiful but the storyline felt all over the place. i didn’t even feel the romance between sophie and howl either??? the movie felt so slow too, it seemed to drag on and i found myself getting bored a few times and forced myself to watch it. i missed so many points but it really was a disappointment :(

It did feel like the story was all over the place and don't get me started on the romance! I had so many issues with "Howl's Moving Castle", like how slow it felt and how boring it got at some parts, as you said, that I'm shocked not more people feel the same way. It's really interesting to hear your opinion as someone who hasn't read the book but still was as disappointed by the film as I was. So thank you for coming here and sharing your opinion! Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked this video and my drawings!! The highlighters I showed in this video were Stabilo ones but they definitely don't have to be! They are a personal favourite of mine yes but I do also have other highlighters that aren't Stabilo ones (off-brand highlighters)! They're just the ones that I personally know and enjoy using, but you definitely could use other ones like Zebra highlighters like you mentioned, if you wanted to! Just make sure the tip isn't too thin if you do end up using those!! I hope that answers your question :)

    Hello! Happy New Year! I just wanted to let you guys know that I just started my second semester at Uni today and when I'm at Uni, I have a really hard time juggling it and my RUclips channel. I'll still, definitely try to work on and post RUclips videos because, as said at the end of the video, I love making them, but it's quite challenging so yeah. I preferred to give a heads-up, in case you think I've decided not to post on here anymore because I definitely haven't! I'll definitely be on here much more once May or June comes around but, until then, you can follow me on Instagram and TikTok, I might be on there more as it's a lot less demanding! Thank you for your patience and take care, Elodie

    Beautiful and profound words, Elodie. You are a true artist and poet. I could relate to your words well, unfortunately, but we have to keep going. Acknowledging your feelings is such a big step towards feeling better about loneliness and I'm hoping yours will be short lived xx
