Now you know how Uber drivers feel when they get 1 star after they offer a clean vehicle, safe ride, pleasant music and cheerful service. I got a 1 star for not waiting 20 minutes for a guys pizza to be done on busy Friday night. Got another as a retaliation from a punk who got in & played loud vulgar Rap music that I 1 starred so I'd never have to drive him again. Welcome to Uber's World. Its unfair.

I have a problem in my area that the basic Uber is usually has a driver who actually speaks no English. Zero. I’m fine with a no conversation ride if I can have one, but wit no language exchange, nothing can go wrong. I’m not perfect. It’s too much trying to deal with the other language. I’m not on vacation. I’m disabled, I’m in pain. I wish the only way to English weren’t a more expensive upgrade. I got a 3. I don’t know why. I’ll try not to care

Is ridiculous how you have to treat the drivers. I’m not saying treat them poorly, however they want to be treated like royalty. THEY ARE ONLY DRIVERS like it or not they are your EMPLOYEES for the duration of ride. Not the ROYAL FAMILY. 😂😂 I honestly wonder myself why I’m a 4.89 I looked at my rating I have 18 ( 5 Stars ) & ( 1 4 Star ) how does that work. If I do the math I should be at least a 4.97??

Thank you so much for telling us how to do this. This has totally open my eyes! I always tip 30% or more and I’m extremely kind. 40 people gave me five stars, four people gave me four stars and one person gave me two. I’m still wondering about the two because I’ve never gotten in an Uber drunk or obnoxious and I have tipped everyone generously. I will go back to taxi cabs at this point. I’m so mad.

I read the hobbit in primary school. Elementary school equivalent was such a classic. I'm yet to read the rest of the Tolkien collection too. But I'm sure I'll be addicted to it too

everybody gets 4 stars unless they deserve 5 stars. I can’t give 5 stars to everybody when people have deserved 5 stars. I’ve had people hand me cash tips, cash app, PayPal, Venmo, I’ve had people fill my gas tank up I don’t ask for this. 3 & 2 for people who are disrespectful & 1 for people who start complaining.

i have a 4.90 (39 5 stars, 2 4 stars, and 1 3 star). im a student so sometimes when i need to get home from or to school, ill keep my back pack by my feet or on the seat next to me. maybe people dont like that, im not sure. i feel like the biggest reason may be my location. i live in an area in the hills where roads r windy and narrow, so people may not like my location, but thats not my fault. i live with my parents and they were the ones who chose our neighborhood, not me 😂. Ill give benefit of the doubt, maybe i closed a door too hard without realizing it, but either way i always greet my driver and thank them at the end of my ride. if a driver is likes to talk and continues a conversation after i greet them i’ll continue the conversation. usually the conversation just go about my schooling and what my plans r for the future, or we talk about any random conversation starter… nothing controversial at all. im always waiting for my driver when they arrive. sometimes if im in a crowded area ill do a friendly wave so they know who i am and dont get confused. there was only 1 time where i was a few seconds late to when my uber driver picked me up cuz i was leaving our building after speaking to a professor, but i for sure wasnt over a minute late to the pick up. the rider was friendly too. not sure what the issues truly are, but i try to make sure im polite as can be as theyre giving me a service and i appreciate that a lot. i have a license but im saving up for a car, so until then uber is my way to go.

Sometimes its the co rider behavior that messed up some peoples good rating. Being a driver I can say groups during weekends are the worst nightmare for drivers. So if you really care rating’s then don’t ride with people that you don’t have any control over.

I have 4.83 rating as passenger. Always clean, respectful, on time, get out where I am supposed to, and give $5 tip for standard ride without conversation.. but if the driver starts talking to me and we have a pleasant convo I will give $20 tip. And I will even give 5 star even if their car is a mess. I’ve never given less because I’ve never had any significant issue in an uber. I spend thousands on uber per year. Why I have under 4.95 rating is beyond me 🤷‍♂️

4.97 is an ideal rating. I don’t trust 5 stars because they’re usually new accounts.

It's not always your fault. Some riders have fiven me low ratings and they never said anything to me during the ride. My rating on Lyft is 5.0 but on Uber it's 4.92.
