I Have done the same. I’m on 123notary and only accept signings from direct title companies. If they don’t accept my fee I respectfully decline.

I agree with everything you mentioned! I prefer general notary work. Its easier than having 100+ pages of loan paperwork. Its just not worth it to me. Like you mentioned, agencies don’t pay well so I just stopped working with them all together. I wouldn’t recommend it to notary newbies. The courses people offer also over complicate everything. I prefer having a Google Business page, obtaining my own clients and creating my own fee’s + client tips. My appointments now average 10 minutes😂

I'm so sorry your first experience was so trying, but it sounds like your stick-to-it'veness is going to pay off. sometimes a slower start makes for more consistent excellence in the long run! Tomorrow's my first "available" day on NotaryGo. I'm hoping to gain some good experience with them. Low ball fees are less important to me than quality experience that can build my confidence. Christine, you mentioned that you asked the attorney to utilize their office / booking a room- in TX I understand that loan closings need to be at a title company office or attorney's office, aren't they the ones that book the closings? In what type of situations would you have to book an office?

I thought you can only notarize documents in your own state. You also mentioned notarizing documents for people out of the country. Can you notarize or do loan signings from outside the country for people in the U.S.?

Oh bless your heart! I know exactly what you're talking about being a bundle of nerves! My 1st signing went really well as far as with the client but I stamped wherr I should have put my signature on the notarized pages. The title company only noticed one of those and had me correct it and then I corrected it wrong! I swear they must hate me! The 2nd 1 was so difficult because it was tax documents I wasn't familiar with those at all. Never went over in training so it has been a rough start for me as well.
