I am an incoming PhD student at CHarles University, am in that time of my education when I am going to start my PhD in 2 months, getting visa sorted as international student is headache but hope it comes through, I have been doing lot of reading around the subject on cancers people work in the lab pharmacology and all, I just though reading a bit of theory will help, but now I think I can relax a bit (dont know what exactly to do though!), maybe slow pace reading and keeping my head clear before the start

Can we get a waiver in phd if we have masters from uk

Do we get our number of years reduced in USA if we already hold a masters from UK?If possible,how many years waiver is possible please?

FYI, in our program we expect applicants to have a significant research experience. While experience doing data analysis and working for a student journal are worthwhile, they do not allow the program to judge the student’s research potential.

Our STEM PhD program expects all applicants to have at least a year of research experience. None of the suggestions you mentioned would make a difference. It cost $500k for a stipend and tuition and on top of that the cost of their research program. Just because you like reading research or reviewing research articles does not show you have the potential to do research. Are you suggesting that the vet school you are attending does not allow students to do research. If that is the case then they are hindering the progress of the field of veterinary medicine. In the vet and MD programs I know a large percentage of the admitted students did research as undergraduates. There are research opportunities for veterans students and the top schools like Cornell have a DVM/PhD program.

I applied indecber. The decisions are made in April. It is 30the May but still I haven't heard anything. The status of application appears to be complete same as it was at the time of submission. What do you suggest I do?

A friend of mine got a phd offer at Imperial right after his undergrad at Warwick without a masters, I don't know how common it is though and whether him being in stem made an impact.
