very cool. But this isn`t the stock exhaust is it ?
This car is bone stock, but the exhaust sounds rowdy from the factory!
Now it's fixed you can take girls for a run and get sucked off in the back of in it..
Excellent work! It’s always satisfying when you fix these cars up and they pass smog as a result.
Umm...what's with the creepy pose at the beginning of the video?
Great job bringing this truck back to life just subscribed
You have good taste.
That's a clean Caddy!
A real 37k mile car!
Love the video keep it up
I'm always very surprised at the number of Cadillacs from the 70s and 80s that were brown. I wouldn't think brown would be such a popular color for cars. That being said, this is a beautiful and well preserved example. I am glad to see this young man having an interest in the old car hobby.
Fun to see a young man your age checking out one of these old Caddies. I'm a fan of these also a family member had one that was a convertible that I used to get to ride in as a kid. There is a pretty good chase scene in "The Terminator" with a blue Eldorado if you haven't seen it I recommend checking it out.
I have seen that one. Sad that the car most likely went to the crusher after that.
Wow! A beautiful example. It's surprising that a right hand mirror wasn't part of the package. I'm 61 and have always wanted a Cadillac, so I'm starting my search
Parker, for a young guy, your vocabulary of automotive terminology in describing the features is impressive. You’re good at what you are doing and have a great future in your vehicle review RUclips channel. Well done!
If you have a: Chrysler Aspen Hybrid Dodge Durango Hybrid Chevy Tahoe or Silverado Hybrid GMC Yukon or Sierra Hybrid Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Any Saturn Hybrid I’d love to review or buy it!😎
Nader was an idot but with the right contacts to hurt a great Chevy car. I had a Corvair Monza that was great! I tested the car and on a wet road spun it out at speed. The road was pretty wide and I was not in danger. I kept it for a time and never had a problem with my Corvair, Chevrolet's problem car.
3vze is non interference engine. Do your math pal
1965 Corvair engines were 95hp, 110hp, 140hp with 4 single-barrel carbs, 180hp Turbo (150hp was in earlier year Spyders). Your car also has wheel covers from a 1965 Impala which means the wheels have been swapped from the original 13 inch to now 14 inch, found on the larger cars and on the Corvair 95 forward control trucks. It's hard to find tires for the 13 inch wheels these days.
That would mean that the speedometer is off, too. It will read lower than it actually is. Which would cause a speeding ticket.
@@WilsonDowling That depends on the aspect ratio of the tires being used. For instance, my 1966 Corvair uses +2 wheels, ie.15x7 American Racing Torque Thrust wheels , with 60 series Goodrich Radial T/A tires which almost exactly replicate the overall diameter of the 80 series tires on the original 13" rims, so the speedometer reading stays the same.
I loved the Corvaire with the twin turbo. Ran like a scalded cat.

very nice presentation young Sir! These Cadillacs have a road presence unlike anything else, they virtually command attention. The terms excess and exuberance come to mind. I understand that they offered amenities and tech features well ahead of their time, such as for example a „soft close“ on their rear trunk lid, They are ultra luxurious and comfortable and offer a cushioned ride, and their massive 500+ cubic inch V8 works effortlessly and never breaks a sweat moving the car.
I just figured out that the trunk motor was not standard. This is a very odd car, and I forgot to note that there’s no passenger mirror!
Naders condemnation of the corvair was a proxy war on the VW
The 2nd gen is such a great-looking car, especially in 2-door version. It's a shame they never recovered from the PR, despite having the issue solved. Also, love the sound of a flat 6!
The "Gave Lift" also brought on the first 4dr."Sport Sedan" H.T. The last Tom McCahill who published the first magazine road test in 1948, tried to purposely "Roll" a first generation Corvair. With the tires and the recommended pressure he could NOT get it to "Roll over". Owners did not follow pressure instructions. The suspension on the Corvair is the same as a 356/911/912 Porsche/ VW Beetle. Nader did rant on them
The original frunk!
Good truck. At 300K miles it is nearly broken in.
good job!! cadillac is my favorite car ever since i was a kid in the 70s because i thought they were the only car with power windows. i thought that was so cool!
Nice job on the review, handsome =). Keep up the good work!
I remember these cars. Built as long as my house, but I always thought VERY styliish.
One thing I remember about the El Dorado was the absence of the drive train hump in the backseat floor. They were gas guzzlers at a time just after the big energy crisis, and yet people still bought them. Some 50 years later we see a reluctant N American market really looking at a sustainable, EV future. Really enjoyed the video and expert navigator. Thanks for sharing your land yacht!
You did great man reviewing one of Americas most beautiful and legendary cars. BRAVO.. !!!! Cadillac - The Standard of the World.
No disrespect meant but to this old man you don’t look old enough to drive.
lol I get this a lot.
Cool! There's a 1:18 scale model of this '78 Eldorado in the same brown on Ebay. It's expensive but spot on with the detail.
Love to see my generation loving those big boxy giant cars. Love the boxes
If it’s overrated I’ll take it! You just don’t realize what you have. But you do you
Back in the day only rich people like doctors and lawyers would drive these bad ass cars, other people drove them only to church to show how much god had blessed them! 🧑🏼⚕🧑🏼⚕🩺🩺🤑🤑
Oh wow, I never knew that SR5 originally meant "sport runabout 5 speed"!
WHAT A NICE SURPRISE to see a young person actually presenting and enjoying features of a vehicle from a by gone era that was built decades before he was even born , very odd ( in a GOOD WAY)
I’m at the point now where I JUST DON’T like where the auto industry is going …. The technology that have to be serviced at a dealership rather than being able to work on our own for those that were willing 👎🏿 the design where much of it looks identical to everything else 👎🏿 and especially trying to forcing us into these ev’s not to mention making vehicles so expensive that average people almost unable to buy or keep up with the humongous monthly payments 😒 Im still driving my 05 Dodge Dakota not because I can’t afford anything new there’s just nothing made out here now that impresses me enough to purchase any of it …. For my next vehicle I’m hoping I can find one with low mileage in very good condition that was made b4 infotainment screens were put in them
Nice job, buddy! Yes, the 70s were Very Brown and Harvest Gold! Some pretty cool cars came out of the 70s though a lot of therm way underpowered because of Emission Laws.
Glad you like a big Cadillac (and that is a BIG Cadillac). Enjoy it but keep it forever even if you buy an economical car for every day
Good review!!!
T400s began to be sold alongside the square body in late 85 and spring of 86. GM truck buyers were not to keen on the new ( scaled up S-10 look),which is why GM offered the square body into the early 90s and square body Suburban remained in production as long as it did. It was quite some time before GM officially mass marketed and mass advertised the T400 for the 1988 model year; as "all new' even though GM had discreetly been offering them for sale for 1 1/2 years.
Those engines were more about torque then power. Positive, they could run all day without being stressed.
Wait until you start having to replace those plastic bumper fillers!
THIS IS MY WORST NIGHTMARE.
Very nice sense of humor😋😉
Amazing interior condition! Love the blue... much more interesting than today's typical black/gray/tan interiors.
I’m glad you can appreciate cars from those decades. I’ve always enjoyed the plush interiors of those cars. Unfortunately, you don’t find them in any new cars. You’re doing a nice job describing the cars.
You are adorable!!!!!!! I love the car and the color and Dixon Cadillac was where I serviced my cars!
You presented this really well.
Good ol 3.3. I still love the LH platform and have had many. All with the 3.5 though
So purrrrrrdy😍 I love my old GMs!
