I know this to be true however in larger more complex circuits is an led not also a resistor? Or maybe a better question might be if you where to wire many led bulbs in series would you still need a resistor? Thank you for your knowledge 🙏

Each led needs a voltage between 2 and 3 volts to turn on, so you can't connect an LED directly to a 9-volt voltage. But if you connect 3 leds in series, you don't need resistance and all three leds will light up and they won't get damaged.

In any circuit, if a voltage of more than 3 volts is applied to the LED, a resistor is needed. Now, if you connect two LEDs in series, a voltage between 5 and 6 volts is needed to turn on these two, and if it is more than this voltage, for example, 9 volts. applied to them, a resistor is needed, but if three LEDs are connected in series and a voltage of 9 volts is connected, there is no need for a resistor.

But i know for a fact that my IR is working because i put an led so its either the ic or my 7 segement
