This is what an alpaca typically goes through once a year. The whole process including trimming the toenails and checking the length of their teeth (vital herd health practices) takes less than five minutes. Within minutes of being sheared they are rolling in the grass, happy to be free of their wool and cooled down in time for summer.

How muck is the wool worth
This is the best I've seen of alpaca shearing. Everything is well planned out to keep the animal as relaxed as possible and to help the shearing go smooth and fast. The wool collection is immediate and clean. Well done, everybody, and happy alpaca.
