World Vision International Nepal

World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
World Vision first started its development initiatives in Nepal in 1982. In response to the 1988 Udayapur earthquake, World Vision supported local non-governmental organisations in providing assistance to people affected. Likewise, in 1993, World Vision helped people affected by the floods in Nepal. World Vision formally started its long-term development work in Nepal after signing both general and project agreement with the Social Welfare Council in 2001.
At present WVI Nepal is working for the well-being of children partnering with communities in 16 districts of Nepal.

West Nepal Earthquake Response 2023-2024 | Project Impact
154 people lost their lives to the earthquakes in Bajhang and Jajarkot district in 2023 leaving 372 injured and affecting the lives of more than 80,000 children.
Through the West Nepal Earthquake Response project, World Vision responded to address the needs of 45,625 people including 20,040 children, 182 people with disability, 895 pregnant and lactating women and 5,585 adults. The project focused on food and non-food items, temporary education facility, school and health centre reconstruction, WASH facilities, livelihood recovery and pyschosocial counselling for the safety and well-being of the affected population reeling from the disaster.
