I'm partial both to the 70's/80's one (that I remember as a kid) and the Dave Koz 90's one (that I watched as a uni student). The modern ones are so short (understandable) but feel like idents for a new programme. 😆

The 1967 - 71 opening is inaccurate. I think that Anthony may have used it as a fill-in because there are very few episodes from that time available. The visuals from 1967 - the year GL went to color - featured the GL logo in Gothic lettering against a blue background. And it was actually 1968 when the blue lighthouse visuals started being used. I hated the 2003 - 05 opening. But the 2005 - 07 openings were my favorite.

I am 27 Years old will be 28 at the end of this month, man I remember my mom and grandma watching this and the intros from 2002-2010 and it would start at 1:00 pm on the West Coast right after The Bold and The Beautiful which my Grandma still watches to this day lol 10/2/2024

This was filmed at Bullocks Wilshire in Los Angeles. Boy I m ss the regional stores we had. We went from thousands of department stores to Messy's, Dillard's, Von Maur, Boscov's and Belk. That is about it.

I don’t know why they didn’t just keep the 1983-1986 one. Most TV programs would kill to have opening music like that. It’s pretty much up there with “Nadia’s Theme” from The Young and the Restless, and that show has never given up that music.

I miss Another World, I wasn't able to always watch it like I wanted to because school, but just the opening intro alone, always had me hooked whenever I did get the opportunity to watch it. I miss this soap and wish there was a way to access all 8,800+ episodes of Another World. 😞

It's 2024 and i wish they bring back guiding light

It's the ending seconds at 1:46-1:51 that are eargasmic for me. There's a touch of a classic luxury to the tone, and it throws me into imagining a beautiful beach sunset with five star hotels all the way along that beach.

The hourglass spinning is great. I have an hourglass that doesn't. Buuuuutttt, my globe spins. It's a tribute to "As the World Turns." And a lighthouse that lights up at the top. My Tribute to the "Guiding Light. " Celebration of the Greatest Soaps of all time.

I loved Guiding Light. I watched from the early 90s until maybe 04/05. I started watching because my mom did and by the time i was 12 I was rushing home after school to watch. The 91-02 opening is a core memory in my childhood. Thankful for YT and everyone who recorded and saved this kind of stuff so we can rewatch it all these years later.

Oh dear, I've never known these were the original opening credits musics! In Italy, where the soap was a remarkable tv success, we had different themes (wich I really loved, so right for that tv show). I'm wondering why. Every single program from foreign tv's had its original musics, except this one. This sounds so weird to me, rewatching the whole series these days 🙃

The 1981-87 intro reminds me of the Quantum Leap intro.
