Why not use a whisper flex gas line?

I recently installed the kit to replace the one in my 20 year old Majestic vented natural gas insert. I was impressed by how easy it was to install and how quickly it lit. The remote control was easy to use, but the instructions were lacking. Everything worked fine for 4 days, but then stopped working. The remote system beeped, but the ignitor didn't try to light. I tried to contact their customer support, but couldn't find a phone number, or website, so I returned it. I don't know how they can be in business without having some sort of technical support available.

Where is the inline gas shut off that according to pamphlets 54 an 58 is REQUIRED to be within 6’ of the appliance?

Been a while. What are the electrical characteristics ? When you shorted the two wires, power was coming from somewhere -- where ? Otherwise, excellent how-to.

I had an “electrician” come by to switch my gas fireplace wall switch with an outlet switch combo and I guess he fried my millivolt system and possibly whore board , is there a way to check which thing he destroyed? Lol

I hate to have to bring this up. But how anyone in good conscious could leave this video up, is beyond me. We're working with explosive gas here. Previous comments have pointed to the potential problems, years ago. sigh

Can i do that with a Wood -Fire ? Can i use the Skulls more then once ?

Never use a torch to light a pilot with thermocouple or thermopile,if there is air in the gas piping you could preheat the thermocouple and allow main burner gas to flow.Someone not familiar with the operation of a gas control valve could get flash burned.

ATTENTION: EVERYONE!! DO NOT follow any of these suggestions!! No way! I'm sure he's nice. I'm sure he's just trying to help but this is very unsafe. The plumber's putty as a gas pipe sealant is terribly dangerous. Don't put any sealant on flared fittings. Lastly, it was done carelessly. One needs to take this installation much more seriously. An experienced technician that could do this blindfolded would have treated this with much more care and attention to detail. Please know I'm not trying to be ugly about this. I'm trying to let folks know there are safer ways to go about this project. Please do your homework.

Bells started going off immediately. Are you sure you want to install your manual cut-off valve BEHIND THE BURNER? Also, using crescent wrench backwards, which is why it slipped off, rounding off your brass ferrules.

Do you have skulls that can be used in a NON-GAS firepit?

Go to Dollar Tree and buy plastic skulls. Cut a hole in the skulls and fill them with mortar mix for fireplaces. Let sit for three or four days and cut them out of the plastic skull. They will need to cure for a few more days. I made ten a few weeks ago for just over $20. I'm making ten more this weekend. It's too easy. You can also use a roll of paper towels as a wick and saturate it with kerosene. If you cover the skulls with hand sanitizer fire will dance over the skulls.

Make a styrofoam skull and make a mold . Melt aluminum cans and poor them in the mold . Stack them up in the fire pit. Voila

It would be so much cheaper to just murder people and take their actual skulls

i have a Lennox FP with gas valve is an model no.082067 can In use it with a wall switch or does that take a specific valve. I want to use a regular wall switch if possible
