Omg you are so half empty!! Clearly a reporter not a fan. You say Cardiff could have scored but city could have won 6 or 7 -1. Cant you see the progress? Lights up and give some credit!!!

A 4-1 win, their keeper had a good game yet we all said on leaving "that was lucky". Good job Cardiff were shocking it could've been 8 apiece. Belloumi was excellent but every other game this season it's been all on the left nothing going right, yesterday complete opposite the left didn't click at all. At least the midfield didn't get totally bypassed for once but we're still way off despite that scoreline.

  • @anothercw

Definitely agree that the scoreline flattered Hull. It was a very open game and Hull put themselves in unnecessary danger throughout with the inexplicable passing aeound the back or being caught on the break. A stronger team would have taken advantage of such errors. Belloumi was excellent, though after his first goal I thought he injured himself during his celebration. Bedia is geting better each time he plays and hopefully it's only a matter of time before he scores from open play. McCloughin was poor for me and even though i rated Drameh at LB last week, he was caught out several time today. Yet, with such a big squad now, if TW insists on rotating players mid game (such as the entire midfield) even when they are playing well, they will struggle for consistency and allow the opposition to come back into the game.

  • @Geoff_1975

Cheers Baz. I agree completely. It was good to see us win at home but the midfield is wide open and we take too many risks playing out. Oscar was asking for the ball from the back 4 but they seem determined to play it across the back and into dead ends which put unnecessary pressure on us. On a positive, you can see glimpses of good footbal and hopefully as the squad and first 11 settles we'll build into the season. COYT

We need a proper interview from the best player to have played for City in the last 60 years. His ability in front of goal is unimaginable to anyone who did not watch him week in and week out. Lets get his thoughts on record, such as, his thought process when he was facing the best goalkeeper in the world and in the 2 games I recall, he scored 3 goals, but not just scored, he made it look so easy. Thabks Baz. I really enjoy your podcast and glad you've opened the comments. Despite the issues with losing possession easily and presenting chances to the opposition, and being caught on the break, there were definitely positives from the game. Millar and Slater should start games on present form. Millar as a winger fits into the system Hull are playing which seems to emphasise wing play. Slater offers high energy and constantly looks to get into space which I haven't seen from the other centre midfielders to the same extent. Drameh playing out of position at LB was much better defensively and in terms of getting forward compared to Giles, so he should also start more regularly. Palmer and Omur on at the same time leave the team unbalanced. Omur being deployed on the wing isnt working either as he's too lightweight and has struggled to contribute to goals/assists. Bedia ran all night but lacked service. There were a few occasions where he nearly got on the end of a high/through ball and hopefully as he adjusts to the Championship he will be more clinical. He needs service though- and to remember his defensive duties (Stoke's goal from a corner). Oh, and the corners were a better too- clever movement from short corners to create two shots on goal from Drameh.

Onto the game, like you said, we got the rub of the green last night and that won't always happen. We definitely need to show more quality in the final third if we're to win games more consistently. Positive but still a working progress.

Listening to what Walter says about the way we play, its clear he is still trying to get them to be more brave and play forwards more. The improvements in our forward play is hard to judge when we've only had one winger and the strikers have been in two mins!

Baz really seems to have it in for Walter, and seems to give us the reason why towards the end of this video. He seems to have forgotten what the German media guy they interviewed around the time of Walters appointment said. As a reminder he said something about Walter not being great with the media and on many occasions would leave all this sort of stuff to his assistants, win or lose. The press should be above taking managers comments personally.
