Thanks for the question. They are not sprung shut, or locked down tight like the rest of the industry’s designs. The weight of the steel, when closed, holds back most discharge until eventually, when the deck builds up, the plate will “burp out” clippings and return to the closed position. You give up a little security with the closed position, but you pick up long term reliability and near zero input after installing. Speed of mowing, and turf conditions will affect the closure, but at normal mowing speeds they do incredibly well. We always tell guys, don’t watch the plate and worry about it opening just slightly, watch what you’re protecting, ie mulch bed etc. As far as the larger engines go, we developed our Scag and Ferris chutes on 38-39 hp engines, and obtained the same performance standards. You can hold it manually open temporarily or you can also rig it temporarily with some hardware, but just understand these are thick steel and won’t flex like a factory plastic or rubber option.

If you can’t ride a mower with one hand I wouldn’t be on a mower 😂

It’s going to depend on the 3000 that you have. Some have the older style tall deck mounts with dual holes, and some have the updated shorter style, with a single hole. As long as it’s the Exmark ultraCut deck, with the single gas tank under the seat, they will fit yes.

Not without some modification. We are working on adapting the next run of production to fit the 48” as well.

Hey Bryan, they work similar on the Ferris decks, we just got around to recording an intro for the Ferris 61 Speedtrap. I’ll be uploading it, hopefully today. Design and install are totally different. If you check out our website we have the 61 Ferris kits up on there. We do have a 52” icd kit coming this Spring that fits the isx800, z2, isx2200 etc. We use cable for longevity in the field, it works very well for quick operation, doesn’t stretch, and holds up long term. I thought if it would fit I’d pick up the speed trap now and use it on the old and then just put it on the new one. 22 years and almost 12,000 hours. I guess it is time for a new mower. Crazy how those mowers are still out laying it down in the field! I know a couple guys fairly deep in the industry and they still use those as their personal mowers, and they’re still going strong! Hi Jimmy, the chute sits back against the factory pulley guard mount when in the open position. When you want to close it, simply pull the cable, flick your wrist again to re-open. Ultra simple. We have an accessory available as well, that allows you to keep the plate up, ands from striking the guard. Not necessary, but it depends on preference. Thanks for the question. -Danny

Hi Doug, I believed we touched base over email about this, but for those others who may also be wondering, yes our Titan chute will fit the Timecutter HD 54” & 60” mowers. It will NOT fit the standard Timecutter decks. Thanks for the question.

Hello! No, you can run whatever blades you would like to. The Speedtrap will mulch up leaves fairly well with high lift blades installed and the chute in the closed position. Hey Bernie, I believe we spoke about this via eBay last week, but we have not made a plate yet for the standard Timecutter. Our Titan plates do fit the Timecutter HD decks, but not the standards. Thanks again for checking us out.

@@allankaufman2550 Your supposed to recycle your clippings on your lawn to keep it in optimum condition. The trick is to disperse them and not see them. That is on your lawn guy not doing it correctly.

Hi Randy, yes in most all cases at normal mowing speeds the chute will stay open. High speed mowing over bumpy terrain, while also downhill, may lead to an unintended close. Thank you for the question!
