They look and feel like the same thing, but they sound completely different. I personally prefer the poppy sound the Evo80 has, plus it comes from a more reliable website... but it can be a little more expensive and is hardly available...

Nothing special , and all these keyboard makers are just riding the wave. How many would spend 300 to 500 for a keyboard this normal. Maybe flux keyboard is more interesting.
For me, it's really rare to find a top-mount keyboard that doesn’t have sound resonance(hollow) in the rows near the edges. As someone who loves a firm typing feel, especially with tactile switches, I find the sound very satisfying.

Daughter board isn't necessarily a good indicator for board quality. Lots of budget boards can make you happy about that.

Doesn't this board have a 1.2mm pcb not a 1.6mm?? At least according to the Geekhack it is 1.2mm.
The name of the PCB is "Mechlovin' Zed65 Rev 1.2" so it's not 1.2mm. It's 1.6mm.
@@nelsonahson I was just going off the IC on the geekhack haha if it is 1.6mm they need to update it bc it says 1.2mm as of right now.

Would you say this is a dark grey? That is how it looks in the video. Still chasing a grey that matches the pacific slate of the parallel array. Can't decide between black or grey with a copper bottom. Thanks!

I can feel the vibration on the plate but sounds quite amazing. I prefer a gasket mount
I got the Evo80 a few weeks ago. It’s replaced my Rainy75 and sounds better too. Super Thocky!!!
Arguable that it sounds better ;) but I’d love to hear more about why you replaced the rainy with this one? What differences sold you on that? I’m trying to figure out what makes the board pricier than the rainy 75 pro.

I have this in green as well, used Nixies and GMK Botanical... was in rotation with my QK75n until my EVO80 got here so one of my sons took it and won't give it back. Another fantastic video, subbed as I think we have very similar keyboard tastes :)

Just got mine. It’s so beautiful… although they did drill the holes incorrectly and the standoffs don’t have threads to grab onto. I used some super glue to hold them.
I have this in the same color, best prebuilt board ever IMHO.

I was interested in buying this board but the colours combos are weird. Who thought putting teal and black together was a good idea? Or let us purchase additional weights/badges. I wish they had the Tyrian badge /weight with black colourway. Would’ve been perfect.

The Evo 80 offers 10 color options, but the switches are combined with specific plates: you can choose either the PP plate with Oat switches or the FR4 plate with Azura switches.

@@nelsonahson Got the Tyrian / purple with FR4 and Azure, switches were a little light for me so I put Baby Ks in it and my PBTfans Subarashi set and it's now my #1. The cap and switches that came with it were fantastic, just a little light and I had the Subarashi on a Neo65 that I want to try my Osume Dusk set on (which worked great as well with the purple on the Neo). If someone is looking for a comparison, this is a slightly, and ever so slightly, lighter purple than the Neo... frankly better IMHO, the EVO 80 is simply a fantastic keyboard.
