Classic Car road trip part 4 : back to Montana
My 460 EFI is in an E-350 motorhome, you F-350 people don't realize how good you have it.
Those things sure do shift like junk haha, i have had 2 460s now same year as yours, 97. And the trannies shifted just like that, sometimes a little worse though
Isn't your dad freeking out. Molesting his truck.
I'm glad to see a person so happy to work on his vehicles.
L-I-ma.. not leema. The I is pronounced as an I. Not an E. Coming from someone who lives in Ohio lol
Kinda sounds like you say lime. Lima bean lol
@dustnreichu929 ok heard. But why is it leema in the military phonetic alphabet? Or do guys from Ohio say lie-ma? Never heard lie-ma over the radio!
@@cprgarage3206 yeah we pronounce it Lime-a lol idk why they call it that in the military that’s a new one on me
He is a cars salesman 😂😂
Looks great I put 285/75 on my black diamond steelies with no lift had to remove the crash bars but I have done the 2 inch lift since for ground clearance
I carefully scienced it out so I could keep the crash bars. They did occasionally rub the sway bar at full lock
Damn dude i was about to sub but "we're good" beautiful pickup and I wish you the best. why be so intentionally polarizing?
@@d0peshow sorry what?
I think you have good content. At 01:24 you became divisive. I still wish you the best.
@d0peshow I see. I stand tall for what I believe in. Especially with what I have been through personally. If people don't like that there are many other channels to watch
Rule of thumb when buying aftermarket parts is ask yourself why the manufacturer didn't do it. Also the video title is misleading. I clicked on it thinking "let's see why this guy thinks efi 460's need redemption". Last thing: You did not test the Dodge TPS sensor. You showed that your Dodge sensor's range is different than a good Ford sensor's range, but you did not test your Dodge sensor against a known-good Dodge sensor. You could have replaced an intake to fix a TPS. On the other hand, 460efiguys could have designed a new intake to fix a TPS.
😂😂what's happening with Harley?
Came out that the CEO was woke and people are boycotting
Good video
Thanks
Nice👍👍
Does your duece always have a loud primary noise
When it's cold it's always sounded like that. Just the chain whirring around in thick oil I think
I have a 99 with the 4.6... great engine, im over 200,000 with the old bird😂
I thought it was known to just cut out the reducer out of the intake plastic and add modern style injectors instead of the old straight lines
Did you remove a spark plug or injector ? I saw that on the bottle under directions
@mick5740 nope just poured it in as you see.
Do you need to remove the thermostat first ? Did it work ??
No need to remove anything. Worked pretty good. Still weeps a little when it's real cold
The way she was shifting (slow) made it seem like she was toying with you😅
14:50 I have the same issue . how did you fix it ?
@@Mish-bv5pn the relearn did not fix it. Truck still always did that the first time shift but went away warm
I’m worried that a 5year old kid would try this 😅
Why did you paint it that horrible awful ugly color oh my goodness what is wrong with you
Hope you had some tou
Are you trying to tease me using the bump as the backdrop? Lol, can't wait for you to get back on that one
I owned a 74 F100 with a built 302 and a 3 on the tree converted to a Hurst floor shift, in Grabber Blue. My Father had a 67 F100 and a 77 F150. My Brother special ordered a dark brown 78 F150 with a Built 351 with a 4 speed and limited slip axle. The late 60’s through the late 70’s are my favorite Ford trucks. I’m curious about why you painted the engine green and not the Ford Blue that Ford used in those days. I can’t wait to see it in the truck and on the road.
I've painted many ford dark blue... and light blue. I let me kids have free reign to choose on the 460 and... here we are
Need to get back at the 6.2 raptor truck
Big changes coming for that one, finally cracked the code, I think!
Exhaust and cam keep it simple.
What color is that , high temp ?
Grabber green duplicolor engine paint
@@cprgarage3206 thank u
you realize dual 2.5 is good for 500HP?!
@@WilliamMunny-d8s I swear if you say needed back pressure and I'll lose low end torque lol
@@cprgarage3206 maybe, maybe not but your truck has about 250 hp correct?
@@cprgarage3206 IM waiting to hear what you GAINED by goin dual 2.5 when your 250hp engine only needs 1-2.5 pipe? Sure you GAINED extra work, extra expense, extra crowded underneath but was it worth the EXTRA 7 hp at 5700rpm?
If that fox had a t5 it would be very different
Naaahhhhh that's the driver. No way that 4.6L is beating the 5.0 liter
Shows how much you know. 99+ pi 4.6s bone stock, street tires, can run a 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds. The fox needs gears AND drag radials to hit mid to low 14s. 4.6 pi has always been faster.
I got a 1979 I’m fixing to shorten
Hey I'm new to your channel and I really enjoy it. Keep up the good work. Lookin forward to more on your Vicky truck. I have a 65 F-100 that I want to get stated on. Have a good day.
Got the 460 in my rv. Got the 7.3 power stroke in the truck.. love my 7.3. Is that truck obs 1 or 2? A tuner could change your world. It did on my 7.3. And I know they got them for the mustang so they are available for gas engines. Maybe a hydra tuner?
@@hondaxl250k0 OBS is 92-97 body style. Never heard any referred to as OBS 2. 88-91 would be bricknose
@@cprgarage3206 obd2 not obs. Dam auto correct or fat fingers.. who knows lmao
@@hondaxl250k0 ah no OBD1. They almost all were except later CA emissions ones
@@cprgarage3206 I’m looking into a tuner for my 95 460 .. maybe get the rv a bit more pep in it’s step.. I’d love to just put a 7.3 in it.. big turbo. Injector’s and a hydra tuner.. it be the shit.. and better mileage
I enjoyed it thoroughly!! 😂😂

tin foil, thats a good idea.
after your dyno session and what has been said in my comments about needing a 230° at .050 cam to make 500hp. Do you now see that advertised duration can be misleading? i just hope you learned that is all. the number at .050 is the most reliable.
I definitely agree this combo needs more camshaft to make 500. But to say it needs 230 @.050 is over simplified IMO. What if it had a roller cam with 218-220 @ .050 and more lift and more aggressive lobes? Waaay more to a cam than duration
@cprgarage3206 Duration is the biggest factor, though, and my comment was about your engine with a flat tappet, so there is that. Anyway here's what I know, but I dont know how to write what I've learned over the last 8 years from dyno testing my engies and from other engine builders in a short paragraph, so i apologize for the novel. But yeah, you're right. There is more to cams than just duration, but duration is the biggest factor by far. I think faecebook Groups, forums, and some salesmen have made it seem more complicated than it is, but more on that later. yes, the lobe design on a roller vs. a flat tappet should have a power advantage, and the same for adding more lift, but how much power is parts combination specific. I.E. the heads and intake. Also, the demand being put on the engine is an even bigger factor. which is determined by the rpm the engine is running at, which is determined by cam duration. that's why duration is the biggest factor. looking at your combination, 3-5 more degrees, and a little more aggressive lobe (worth maybe 15hp) probably won't get to 500 hp. A 224° cam might do it, though. but again, my comment was about your engine with a flat tappet. I built a 475 cubic inch engine (the extra cubes are worth roughly 10hp over yours) with a 219° at .050 cam, edelbrock heads, and 9.0:1 cr. it made 482 hp. Flow testing the edelbrock heads showed they are not that great. possibly with some goods head like AFR, trickflow, or kasse could have possibly made 500 hp. Now, if you look at your combo, yeah, the lobe design of a roller might give you another 15 horse, and 3 more degrees of cam duration is nothing really. to me, it looks like the heads are the biggest thing holding your engine back, well, and maybe that dyno you used, lol. there's just so many test that show up need 230° regardless of lobe design to make 500, horse. I'm not sure what you know, so I'm just going to ask. do you know that the cam duration dictates at what rpm range power is made? the lift can add to that. how much power is gained from that is really combo specific, and how much lift you are increasing by also determines that, of course.
zooom!
I have been looking at the EFI Guys kit, thanks for the video. You saved me a ton of money. The difference between the factory progressive linkage and the Dodge direct linkage would be a difference you could definitely tell. I wonder what hooking up the factory direct would feel like? Probably "feel" snappier too. I wonder what a 1 inch open spacer would do between the manifold and factory upper intake? On a carbureted dual plane, this would help mid range RPM big time. It would allow both sides of the manifold to share intake pulses. Shame it is not standard carb pattern. I bet a carb adapter with a Holley 4 barrel throttle body would do something useful. The biggest power increase I have found so far is dual exhaust and cutting the funnels out of the intake hose spacer. Those two things definitely woke it up. Subscribed.

What rims and tires are on this truck? I would really like to get them for my 97 f250.
Not sure they were already on it. I think they are KMC wheels
You should refund this guys money. I am pissed off and its not my truck. That mod is not going to ever make a difference.
That strap around the bumper was the sketchiest part! Then again, they don't make em like they used to.
