Fresh wet dirt.... Testing a new Chin Mount for Alpinestars SM10 Helmet. The mount was designed to give the closest position to the riders eyes without interfering with vision. There is some visor deflecting in 5 and 6 gear speeds that can be seen at the top of the video frame. Not sure if the Alpinestars visor needs stiffening for high speeds or what is going on here. 2023 Husky FX 350 2nd Desert and Moto trip
And everyone says Yamahas aren’t good for rock crawling…😂
I have the same(FX350 2023) and its the best bike i ever ad😊
Man that's a sweet view using the drone... I need to get me one of those to bad Skydio is no longer making them. Kyle from The DirtBike channel swears the DJI drones work well but I hate supporting the CHINA PLA "CCP"
Thanks. I don’t ride very well when it’s up because I’m looking at my phone image or the drone shadow most the time. And because I’m old. lol . Skydio is a USA company. If you are in Utah check (k s l) for some used ones . You need a beacon and iPhone . Don’t fly with another type of phone. Sadly, DJI (CCP spy drones) does not have ANY tracking technology that works so a skydio at this time is your only option.
Some cool trails and video! Drone following you is neat! So this bike stock? How is the chassis and suspension working? Some good rebates on 2024 FX350's now and I want a new 350....just not sure if I should wait for the updated chassis (which is a little better on my 24.5 KTM 450FE). Love the new 350 engine!
The hardest thing is worrying or watching the drone (A Skydio 2) shadow while riding. I almost ate it in that canyon in that video in a basic corner, because I couldn’t see it in my iPhone on the crossbar pad. LOL. Knowing that Skydio does not sell consumer drones anymore, and DJI drones are total garbage for tracking adds to the stress…. Ya, stock 350. I really like the 350 on MX tracks but when I trail ride, I realize the 350 is so great all around. I definitely will get another 350. Motor is insanely good. The reason I have not got a new one is, for what I ride, I don’t want to give up that airfork so I stick with my 23’. Not that it’s better than the 24’ spring fork, for one thing, but the air fork lets me adjust quickly for big stuff on MX tracks, and the next day, I’m doing 50 mph thru some hard packed single track. There is no way a spring fork can adjust for that big of range without changing the spring out all the time. Even if it is just trail riding. In the morning I might be riding deep wet sand stuff, til I get worn out, then quickly adjust, and I’m in fast open to hard pack technical dirt. Airfork adjusts on the fly. Or at least none of my buddies 2024’s seem to adapt as quickly as I can with an airfork. I wish they would make a Factory edition GasGas 350 EX. I like the look of the GasGas more than husky or KTM. However, that lowered shock dynamic on the husky works so well for me on trails.
@@parkcitymacs Thanks for the detailed response! Yes AER forks are very tunable for a wide range of use.
God i love how that bike sounds...
Thanks! I have so enjoyed this 350. The bike absolutely rips and is zappy responsive.
Is the new barona layout more fun than the old one?
I really like this layout. This track was very fun, had some pretty good sized jumps that you could work up to safely. I never a rode on this track before but would definitely recommend.
Nice riding man, What bike is this? Fx350? Would be cool if you put the bike model in the vid description. 😎👍
Thanks! This track was a blast to ride. Yes, it is an FX350 which I love. As an old vet guy, the bike is super zappy fun, very lightweight feeling, but has some crazy power if you want it.
My Westie loves going for rides too! I use a GoPro 7 Black with a GoPro mic adaptor and a TNE gaming mic (only $8!) all connected to a Dango chin mount. The audio is excellent - can hear the bike and my voice and almost no wind noise. How do you mic up a GoPro Hero 12? I would want a small mic inside the helmet chin bar (same as I do with the Hero 7).
Ya your videos have crisp sound/voice. Oh our Aussie's best friend for many years was a Westie. Such an amazing dog, tough... but sadly, he did not last as long as she as. Right now I just adhere mic fur over the GoPro mounts.I really should run a mic down under my helmet or maybe a remote to the fender/airbox someplace to get a better exhaust noise and eliminate the transmission noise. If you see my other videos I made a mount because I wanted the GoPro as tucked up and close to the helmet as possible and if my GoPro watch went dead I could see the record light on. I had a Hero 10/11/12 powered modification which included a pass thru door for a cable, and had a remote power source ( fake plastic battery with a + - lead cable. I attached that power cable to "castle creations "BEC to set the voltage to the measured voltage of a charged GoPro battery. I used this on my Honda Talon because I wanted the camera on all day on attached to a gimbal powered. The power all came from the Talon, so I never needed to change batteries. I ran a mic split out of a USB-C cable from modifying the mic adaptor accessory which was a pain, all the way out the by the rear cage. I have not got that fancy with the bike.
Super cool. Great looking product and great video results.
Which one is the most fun? I've just picked up a '23 FX350 and I have a '20 300XC that's been changed to TBI.. Also, which one of those 2 would you say is the easiest to ride?
Well you are set with both. 350 easier, faster on MX, for sure. Rocky tech stuff the 300 is less work. Both are so fun!
Hey, just curious, do you run a recluse on that bike? I also live here in Utah and I'm thinking about getting one of those but I'm worried about flame out issues
No, I don’t care for a Rekluse much. In particular, on motocross tracks I have never trusted it in rhythm sections. I have always had the attitude, the better you make a bike for trail, the worse it gets for moto. If you make a bike great for moto, it still does pretty well for trail, or at least you can get by on trail.
@@parkcitymacs Ok so you don't feel like the 350 is stall happy...
@@flingndirt_UT The 23 and 24 KTM 350 Motor is very improved for that issue. I’ve not felt it was a problem after this last year of riding. I had the previous 22 model 350 which did flame-out a far amount which could be stressful at times, in particular deep rocky water crossings. A lot of that is how you ride too. Certainly, if stalling was prone for the type of terrain, adding a R-clutch is pretty easy.
looks like a fantastic time
If you had to choose only one which one?
I much prefer Motocross over trails. I think I raced too many desert races back in the day. lol. So based on that, my pick would be the 350. But that is like a 48 Percent Versus 52 Percent ratio. Very close. If I did mountain trails, for sure the 300. IF it was fast sandy fun trail riding, maybe the 350 would win out again. I should note THAT the 24’ 300 is the ONLY 2 stroke I have ever transitioned from a 4 stroke that I could ride with confidence within the first 5 minutes. Usually, it takes half a day to reprogram my brain to 2 stroke mentality. IF I was buying a 300 I would barter hard with a dealer to swap to an AirFork. I think the spring fork is better for 1 type of riding but bouncing between 40 degree temps, to 80, trails, then motocross the next day, the spring fork kills the diversity of a “do all” bike by requiring oil and spring changes. What a pain. I would much rather have a lightweight ,”OK “ fork for all kinds of riding, than an heavy “awesome” fork for just one type of riding.
Also, that looks so fun!
Those are probably two of the most fun bikes made to date!
Where is this track?
It's at Cahuilla Creek, California which is not far from Anza.
@@parkcitymacs oh, I will have to try it if I am ever in California because I don’t live in the USA but thanks
Looking so good out there!
Did you do anything to exhaust sounds good
That is stock exhaust. Brand new pretty much in that video
where did you get your graphics made? they look great
Thanks! I designed those on a Mac in illustrator and just had a local group print them. I had a bunch of red anodized stuff from my gas gas that fit, so wanted some more yellow mixed with red. Tired of blue look on husky too.
Totally torn between the fc250, or fx350. Vet rider nust got back into it , currently own beta 250rr 2 smoker. And want to buy my first 4 thumper. Think I am sold on the Husq. Just cant make up my mind as to which 1 lol. Love the vid
When I have raced, I always picked a lower bore over larger, and for the most part placed higher as a result. Handling, lightweight, suspension over motor, in particular desert racing ( I was much faster on 250 2 stroke than a 300 2 stroke). I like the 250F's but Im over 200 lbs, yet I ride aggressive so don't mind keeping things above 7,000 RPM. Honestly, in the past ( 2012 to 2020) the 350's felt like a 250F done right but I never trusted them on MX track. However, now the 23' 350 is no worries on technical or big air sections. The new 350F still feels like a light 250F with an instant burst of 450 if you want it, but never too much It is the perfect 4 stroke. . Way fun, way easy to ride.
@@parkcitymacs Awesome thanks for response!!
@@jcsquared1111 No Prob! Let me know what you get!
@@parkcitymacs Been searching far and wide for a Heritage edition but looks like those ships all sailed anywhere within 200 miles of me. Lol
As a vet rider looking for a 4 stroke thumper, currently have Beta 250rr. Is the husq lower seat height? As only 5 foot 8 lol. Great vid man
Yes, for sure get the Husky then. At first I was worried about the husky on a Motocross track with ruts being lower, but not problem. Trail riding, I'm so much more happy with the lowered height. Amazing! So glad I did not get a KTM. I'm 5 foot 11.
What has more pull and torque? The 350's or the 300?
That's a tough question. Exiting from a slick corner on a track and hitting say a 80- 90 foot double or triple, 2nd gear or possibly 3rd, then the 350 has superior torque and pull. Off a concrete start, long start, hands down the 350 pulls better. Short start on dirt, it would be close. The traction control is superior on the 350 if it's dry and slick up the face of jumps. I'm sure why that is the case. If you are riding in 1st year, loose rocks, steep, more hard enduro type riding the 350 still has more pull, but the lighter feeling motor, less rotating mass of the 300, less chance to stall, then the 300 is probably slightly better. I have raced mostly 2 stokes in Desert as well as motocross, but find the 350 is a better overall bike and much easier to just go have fun on. For a short loop, or perfect conditions the 300 has a bigger fun factor if you ride it pinned but for where I'm at now riding, time is short, so I kind of feel why buy a TBI 300 if you ride a gear tall and lumber it.
@@parkcitymacs - I have a 23' Heritage 350, and its power and pull are crazy compared to the bikes I raced in the late 90's. I have been off a bike since 2001, but wanted to come back... This 350 pulls so hard, way harder than my old YZ-250 race bike did with engine work and race gace... I would be concerned riding a 450, if in fact they pull so much harder than a 350 as all the bike review guys say. I almost bought a 22' SX-450 KTM, but glad I did not.
@@seangavingregory4367 I guess if I was younger, and racing only Moto, I might be on a 450. My problem is I never have fun on a 450. It's like a lifeless bike that goes really fast. The 23' 350 is like a super lightweight 450 that is fun. In the past the 350's have been fun, but more like super powerful mod'ed 250's or 290's. The new 23's 350's are much closer to 450 punch . I was really on the fence about getting a 23' TBI 300. I stopped riding 2 strokes when KTM made the TPI's because of the drop in fun. So when the TBI came out, I thought for sure, but now that I have had some time on one, I'm so glad I got the 350!
@@parkcitymacs - yea man this 350 is a beast. How much more the KTM 350 hits, I am not sure, nor do I care..
Hi great channel very nice motorcycle ;)
Thanks for posting! That dirt looks incredible. You look really comfortable on the track too.
Thanks! ~dirt was really great! Catch ya next trip!!
Braaaap 🤙
were you in low?
Yes, low... Keep in mind the Talon can do almost 60mph in Low range, and the lag between gears on downshifts is very quick in low range when in sand.
That bike is quick don't think you need any more power than that A few bolt on parts could do moto As well as the trails a do it all Bike
Has a real nice bark to it with the stock muffler! Is the bike completely stock?
Yes, engine wise, the bike is stock.
Well what’s the thoughts on this bike?
Well, I'm not sure. I'm much for a motocross person than a trail rider despite doing a lot of desert racing in my youth. This is not a motocross feeling motor to me, but I'm old school too. I'm coming off a 2022 GasGas EX350 that feels like a rocket with very fun hit. I've always had and raced punchy fast quick bikes. Overall, I like the stiff frame and air suspension, lower CG the husky gives you. On one end I feel I can ride this bike hard without it wearing me out, and trust it. On the other end, it does not rip your arms out for having only a few HP less than a 450 because it's insanely smooth. I'm just not sure I like that smoothness. I was riding in an area in this video that was pure wet fun loam, so I did not want to waste my time on tight technical trails when this area is full of Moto-style deep sand trails. I hope to get it on a track soon. Then I will have more confidence than trail riding, to decide what I think of the motor. Life is short and I just ride for fun now, and I'm not sure I would say this is a fun motor Plus sides: I could not get this bike to flame out. I purposely tried and it would not kill where I knew the older 350 engine would for sure flame-out. I would say it's a massive improvement for those that might not consider a 350 stroke for flame outs. All 4 strokes can flame out, but this bike is beyond better. There is a little engine braking where as the older 350 had none. I kind of like that, at least for Motocross, I am guessing. So I think this will be better in bowl corners. Ergos are better unless you are smaller (Cooper Webb sized) rider. The new frames are roomy! All the amazing quality things you don't get on a Japanese bike just got better along with updates (battery system/wiring, kick stand, triple clamps, seat design, airbox, brakes, suspension...) It looks much better in person than on a printed cover or the internet. That was a bonus . Transmission is MAGIC!!! The gears are much more motocross like. I hated the XC and XCW transmissions . HATED THEM!! Now, First is low (yeah), 2,3,4,5 are closer to Motocross ratio, and 6th gear is wide. Why this took 10 years to figure out, when they had awesome transmissions on their 250F's off road models , I will never understand. Cheers!
@@parkcitymacs Thanks for thoughts. I am a aggressive 450 rider and I always felt like the older 350s did not have enough thump for me. I here the 2023 ktm 350 an husky 350 have better power but I’m like you, not a fan of the smoothness but might be something to grow on me. I’m more of a free rider which most free riders need thump and stick to Japanese. At almost 50 and 200lbs I’m slowly slowing down and considering a new 350.
@@shannonscott5788 I'm not even sure how many dirt bikes I have owned but my GasGas 350 (more similar to KTM) has been one of the most fun bikes I have ever owned. Before that I had a 61hp project build SX 300 (Carb'ed motor) that was insane and light. This last GasGas 350 was just as fun but miles better off-road . That's why I bought another 350. These new 23' 350's , honestly are more like a lightweight 450 and is some cases higher performing. I got the Husky over the KTM which has punch and jump, because I wanted to lowered suspension because I'm riding a lot of technical trails with my buddies. I think I just need to get some more time on it.
@@parkcitymacs I've been back and forth many times on my dialed in '21 350XCF Kailub Russell Edition, 22 Gas Gas MC350, and '23 350SXF. Like you noted the '23 350 engine is more like a mini 450 in terms of more low to mid response, better stalling, but also more thumper like. The previous 350 engines are more free feeling with quicker rev and less engine braking with a big "fun" factor too. The Vortex ignition can noticeable reduce engine braking on the '23 350 but it is an expensive upgrade. I've got a '23 300XC with the new TBI engine and that new XC transmission which works great on the trails (2nd/3rd) and moto (3rd/4th) and nice to have the big 6th for cruising in open places. You should take a spin on the '23 300 TBI - you might be surprised how fast and fun that bike is with an electronic powervalve that lets it make big power that is controllable too. Enjoy your new FX350!
@@mxengineer1 Ya, my buddy has his new 300 TBI, so that is definitely on the list to ride this next month. Watch me end up with one. LOL. He said he is blown away how well he can ride in a control zone, or let it rip. Very confidence inspiring machine.
Amazing

You drive like old folks f k.
Great Stuff Scott! Let's keep it going!
That looks fantastic. Looks familiar from Kyle's videos.
Where that at? The end looks a lot like the 09 trail West of Strawberry
I never pay attention to the numbers. I'm sure I was on it at one point.
Are you still using this setup?
Yes , plus Upgrades since then... Turbo, 33's, suspension, and a JEI Off Road tire rack which is amazing with the Talon box. Well, was amazing. I sold the Honda Talon complete. The guy that bought it loves the Honda carbo box and JEI Off road rack combo. I have 3 friends that ended up getting the same exact system. They love it.
Are you still riding this thing? Any issues out of it? One popped up near me, pretty much identical to your thumbnail. Kinda at a crossroads for the eMTB I want and the Rail lines up with the new RockyMountain stuff. So it's really Bosch or Dyname.
Yes. Love it. I upgraded the fork and some minor things, so I think it's more of a Rail 9.8. However, this Rail got me back from an injury and back on my motocross bikes, so it's worth it weight in gold. Well, as expensive as these are it might actually cost more than gold. lol But yes, still out riding the rail! One thing I have noticed in Utah, there are a ton of "used" Specialized Turbo-Levo (comp, expert...) for sale and most are due to broken frames, cracks, downtube issues, cosmetic delams, failed frame sections, blown motors. I rarely see Rails on sale or out with problems on the trails. I would recommend this bike again, minus the BS speed restrictions on eMotors.
@@parkcitymacs Nice, here in Denver I see more Levo's come up than anything as well, but, to be fair, they are the most sold eMTB to date. They also do great to warranty their problems with dealer access in almost every major city, in my research. For me it seems to be coming down to the motor/controller as everything modern is pretty good GEO wise. Components are important as well but more for durability over weight, in my opinion.
@@CodyYankey Ya, that is true on volume and they are super good on replacement. But such a drag to even think of issues for the $$$ they cost. I can't count how many MX bikes in that $8K plus range I have raced with zero problems and sold for 90 percent the value a year later. MTB's are fragile little things but the e-versions certainly are fun. I will have to say, here in the Salty City, The Trek's hold a better value over the specialized, but that could also because of the volume of Levo's. Anywhoo, I would buy another one hands down.
@@parkcitymacs You are for sure paying as an early adaptor of eMTBs. It's also unfortunate they tend to devalue so quickly but that is the cost of creating "new standards" every couple of years. Hell, all my bikes are 135mm spacing with HG freebodies. That is mostly why I am around asking everyone questions about their EMTB experience. I do thank you for sharing yours.
What is i4wd?
It is amazing. I have gone around a lot of CanAm x3's with broken loc-front diffs in Moab. Watch this: ruclips.net/video/DzunshpPhlE/видео.html
Keep coming back to this video even after several years. The quality and clarity of the filming, the sound of the machine and the stunning views are just fantastic.
Hey, Thanks a ton for the nice note. I kind of miss that old YXZ.
Ok what do I do with the extra metal brackets mine came with ?
I'm not sure what you mean. I only had the hardware I showed in the video.
Why do people remove the window netting? It’s an important safety feature,
Good question
What size tire do y'all run. I'm running 30" mongrels, but I dont know what you need for sand hollow trails
I'm on 33's now. for some stuff I liked the 31's but now I get more versatility out of the 33's
Any noticeable power loss with the 33s? What pressure are you running? Swapping out my 32 Motivator RT for those 33s before our Thanksgiving Moab trip
@@brettbenoit454 I thought the motivators were super heavy at square edged, so if you went with Kanati's as 33's you probably would notice an improvement regarding speed/power.
I'm moving to Breck. Could I take this downhill too? I really like this bike a lot.
I actually think you could fairly well on it. In particular if you keep it in turbo mode for the downhill bursts when you need it. The limitation seems to be the amount you want to clear double jumps or obstacles that have gaps. It drops like a brick when in the air.
@@parkcitymacs Makes sense due to the weight. Thanks I am gonna get it.
Are you happy with this bike ? I've just ordered one
I am super happy with it. Now that I have had more time, I'm very glad I did not get the specialized Levo Comp/Exp . Fit an finish on the Trek is very apple like. I dumped the fork for a 38mm Zep ultimate , got some moto bend renthal carbon bars, and switched the brakes (left to right) so they are normal (motorcycle position). The bike is nothing close to the fun of a dirtbike or motocross bike, but I'm having a great time getting out on it. All that said, it is worth every penny! You made a great choice, and hope yours comes in soon.
@@parkcitymacs at least you will get fit on a cycle unlike a dirt bike . Less noise and smell too
