Medtner, Violin Sonata No.2, Op.44 (Stewart, Kayaleh)
This piece can be ranked as one of the most exquisite, refined and intellectual work by Medtner. It comprise a full emotional range and full range of sentiments: carefree joy, sorrow (with a bias towards optimism), triumph and mourning and so on. It`s very important that Medtner throughout the sonata develops theme of joyful, which is very different from the mood of his era.
The main theme and dominant motif of this piece - theme of spring: flourishing, awakening and harmony of nature.

Scriabin, Fantaisie Op.28 (Melnikov, Volodin)
Просмотров 7312 года назад
We used to think, that when you play Scriabin`s pieces generally you use the entire keyboard, and this work is the clearest proof of this. This is what happens when someone`s left hand is over-developed and this someone is romantic composer. Blustery, sublime and sometimes so serene piece is a bridge over first and second Scriabin`s symphonies (symphonic lines is clearly seen here) and bridge o...

I have always tried to avoid using old poor-quality recordings (comparing to modern sound producing standards) on my channel, but gradually I began understand, that they sometimes feature unique, lost sound. Overwhelming majority of modern recordings are refined, meek, with correct tempo, sometimes with gentle rubato. The modern pianist is torn between competitions and commerce, which doesn`t a...
Chopin, Variations (Ashkenazy, Zilbertstein)

Early Chopin Variations, some of those works that are often overlooked (except Op. 2), but they filled with lyricism and sometimes joy. One of them opened new way of composing (like Sourvenir de Paganini), another in a manner not typical for Chopin not saturated musically. Variations Brilliante Op. 12 - Ashkenazy`s performance is jaw-dropping with delicate lyricis and such power, when it needs....

Medtner, Forgotten Melodies Op. 39 (Mejoueva, Sudbin)
I'm going to state with a great deal of confidence that, with 76 years yet remaining, Cho will be considered as one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century.
The allegretto is out of place.
Thank you for uploading this, it's truly an amazing interpretation.
Lifeless and awful interpretation. Letterberg couldn’t understand Scriabins music if Scriabin himself were playing right in front of her
Ads in the middle of the music? Seriously?
Its so dame hard 😨
Anyone else playing this at the age of 12?
Da quí sono partiti gli altri compositori.....percepisco armonie riprese poi da altri...come Beethoven....ed anche operisti come Giuseppe Verdi....ad un certo punto la melodía del primo movimento fa proprio :"la donna é mobile...."
new generation always play mozart with too much pedal, romanticism drama No classicism in there
What's your idea of classicism? Marmo freddo e glaciale?
Oh my GOODNESS! I have never heard of Volodin until now and his interpretations of this piece fills me with an aspiration to rethink the way I usually express this piece when performing it... This is so good. Only critic I have is that the dramatic portion of the reappearance of the second theme seems to be so rushed. I prefer Melnikov's performance of this part. Thank you for posting this!
하,, 넘 좋다,,

4番目マジで上手い
I always knew Scriabin had a curiously forward thinking obsession with tuplet rhythms, creating these restless jittery backdrops (you see it even in his latest sonatas) but this might be the most full and bold exploration of it I've seen from him. It's kind of a shame that they're held back by the bláse late Romantic language and that he started to deemphasize these interests in favor of his pitch experiments later on. Triplets over displaced quintuplet groupings in 1903 (!) is no joke.

Chopin wrote this charming polonaise when he was 11 years old, to honour the name day of Wojciech Zywny, the only piano teacher Chopin ever had (apart from early lessons with his mother).
Medtner's music is just so magic!
I suggest u to carry ur question to my former piano colleague, his grandpa had Close Connections to the House of Liszt 😃
I love these beautiful sounds and vibratos 😀😁😎😍
The 3rd is just an absolute masterpiece. It's very clearly a departure from what Medtner usually composed, and yet it's done so masterfully with his signature touches. Wonder what compelled him to write something so demonic. It sounds like the world is ending in many parts, quite similar to the ending of the 1st movement of the Sonata Romantica.

Such an creative and original pieces! Rest in piece, Stanchinsky
Recently one of my most favourite Medtner's non skazki shorter works! So original and wonderfull!
まだまだ知らない名曲が沢山ありますね。余生のうちにその全部と出会いたい。
Oh my God! That coda... THAT CODA!!!
This is so wonderfull! Mejoueva did such a great job here, it's propably my most favourite interpretation, thogh think that she softened some peaks and climaxes too much - for example in Romanza I am used to a stromy monumental coda, like Hamelin has, but this also isn't bad, it just a little ignores Medtner's dynamics marks. But overally she really, really great - like that primavera left me speechless!
This is one of the most underrated violin sonatas ever, it's so beautifull, clever, tender, soft, yet joyfull and full of great stellar climaxes! Plus the form and structure is original and astonishing!
Pointless playing this unless you already have the technique and can virtually sight read it. Musically it's nothing special so no point in wasting time trying to learn it
Nothing wrong with Mozkowski. It's certainly not a waste.

Если слушать на повышенной скорости, то это самая лучшая запись этой сонаты
Eccellente esecuzione, l'adagio poi è delicatissimo. Bravo!!
Very interesting. Much more freedom with tempi by Zhukov.
Such an incredible sonata. Some playing I like particularly 2nd and 3rd movements (slight mishap at 12:34). 1st movement lacks the "drammatico" element for me (plus D# instead of Ds in bar 7). 4th movement is over-pedalled too much - sounds muddy in places (with the LH arpeggios).
love this piece, awful interpretation.
