If you have importend stuff, you should have a minimum of 3 different brands of old school HDD drives, becourse ssd fail without signs and they loosing data with time if they are not powered periodically, and not even copied the same data on the same ssd or for other reasons. Ther are some yt videos that can explain it much better then I can. Eventually in the future ther will come out a ssd version that don't have any of this problems, but they are only beta versions around of them for testing, they will not even loos data in 100years or much much longer and they will be cost much less then today's ssd beside the first on the market they will cost more, becourse its new, but after a couple of years, it will be a happy data storage solution. I have forgotten what they called this storage drives.

The best hard drive, but arguably the worst IT company to deal with. Let me say straight away my experience of dealing with the parent company of G-Technology, Western Digital, has been a living nightmare. In my work as an independent film-maker I have owned G-Speed Shuttle XL and G-Raid Shuttle since 2017. The outlay for these large storage units has run in to thousands of Australian dollars. One particular storage has created long standing errors in the running of my Mac Pro; problems that Apple have been unable to solve, and Western Digital haven't begun to look at. In any event what I wish to say is should consumers of this high end product be living outside the US, and find the need for customer support, I suggest you do not rely on that offered by WD in India. Three days in a row I was promised a trouble shooting call back by senior engineers. Not one call eventuated. Moreover, the South Asian support staff did not read my emails containing essential information, and had no idea where WD are based in the US. If you work with digital technology you may have come to the conclusion Apple and Adobe are the living end in terms of providing effective, "live" customer support. I'm here to say Western Digital have given perhaps the shabbiest customer support I have experienced from any tech giant in twenty years.

recently updated from an intel mac to an mac studio m1 max with my g raid shuttle 32TB SSD raid. seems not to work anymore. it boots up after a hec of installation guides but always freezes. The finder in ventura or blackmagic speed test won't access it anymore and freeze up almost every time. any suggestion to solve the driver/Software problem?

do these give off a an odour and if so, how strong is it ?

I've ordered mine but as a few reviews has pointed out, there's something crooked about the front of the bag. I've seen two other reviews where it lookes scewed thanks to bad stitching etc. I can see that even your backpack is a bit warped or whatever we can call it.

I don’t understand the pricing. The unit in a 72TB config (4 x Ultrastar HDD’s) is £5009. WD sell 4 x 18TB Ultrastar HDD’s as a bundle for £1,641.96. That means you’re paying £3,367.04 for a RAID enclosure and hardware.

Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting this to replace my Drobo. I've read one comment that the fan doesn't ever turn off. Is that true? I'll have this in my bedroom where my workstation is. Also, is RAID 6 possible? Thanks!

Why its so large, the 2 drive is like just a cover for the drive, this one is like has a lot more space underthe drive, what is below there, power supply, needed becusse it has 4 drive? How about their Armorlock ssd model, it is same size as the pro model but doesnt has think speed, any reason for it to be so big when it has same ruggedness and speed of the smaller drive(they update it to be 1Gb/s instead the 0.5Mb/s you mentioned in the video), i like yellow color so I interested for the Armorlock but its quite big so i wonder should I get it when i just use it for my personal file and work too not gonna make use of the drive sharing hardware encryption fearure

For that price you can get a 10GBe NAS that you can store somewhere else so that you don’t have the insane noise of this thing next to you the whole time. Sure it’s fast. Sure it works great. There just are much better solutions on the market at that price point

Guys you didn't mention read/write for the G-Shuttle formatted RAID 5 .In my scenario Via Thunderbolt 3 on my MacBookPro 16/64Max I get 400mb/s write 350mb/s Read (5gb Stress) instead the Drive Pro SSD 1TB its flies ...! How about you? thxxx
