Dude, you should be an instructor. You explain it better than most of the clowns out there. (Here's looking at you Punjabi licenses for $200, shady shit)
Dude, you just explained the splitter better than any other person or video ever. Been looking for answers on how it's used for ages. (I'm even a heavy vehicle tech and on the Eaton, never understood) (Scania opticruise is a little different kinda but it's auto)
Driving just fine to me mate , not racing to engine or gearbox ,, perfect for a long life span on running gear, to slow for the other bloke , oh well maybe he should've gone 1st 😂,
Its funny, in America a ranger is a 4 or 6 cylinder 6 speed 1/4 ton truck. But because they're so loved by us rednecks the idea of someone modifying one to have 18 gears is completely reasonable. So when i clicked on this video I no joke was expecting a tiny ford ranger with a splitter.
Thanks Ross for explaining in such a clear and understanding way how a 18 speed ROAD RANGER works . If ever i get the chance to have a go at one , your tutorial video on how to operate a 18 speed ROAD RANGER will surely assist me , Take care .
Hey mate, just wanted to say thanks so much for posting this, out of every other video I watched trying to understand the concept you were the most crystal clear with it! I work on a large scale farm and had to move grain trucks around the place, problem was I made a dogs breakfast pretty quick the first time I tried an 18 speed. Driven plenty of 10-15speed trucks but 18 seemed impossible till I seen this. Cheers !
Good vid mate a lot of “professional drivers” have a chip on there shoulder and don’t explain anything good info and visuals 👍🏼 and also probably a lot of guys who think there pro never pulled 3 trailers before ha! 👍🏼
Y'all must really like dirt there because its everywhere in the truck! I live in East Texas and we have sand here and some red clay but nothing like west Texas...very hot and dry there and lots more sand. No worries mate! (Love the accent and all the different sayings y'all have)
If I can, I'll definitely open a Freight Company here in the Philippines and run Road Trains. Such a badass Kenworth. Thanks for the video, it might be years later but this is still extremely informative in 2020. This is gonna help me a lot in my future endeavors!
Why and how do you Aussies butcher the english language like you do?
This is better than all the other videos

Willow drink bottle is always key on the passenger floor.
Love your understatement mate. Grew up here..watching dad n then me self
Does a great job explaining this especially including rev gaps .not like all those yanks explain it
One of the best!
Good to see proper double cluch usage, all these drivers who brag they don't use the clutch are just rounding their gears prematurely
Man awesome video, really enjoyed watching this.
nice video mate👌

0:12 - "I'm not a truck driver"... cunt you're driving a fkn road train in the middle of nowhere.. YES YOU ARE A TRUCK DRIVER!
Awesome bro Thanks so much
Driving a RR one handed while recording a Video and steering with your knees with another Road Train telling you to hurry up! Only in Australia!
most useful video I've seen yet cheers
Not much of a truck driver by any means??? You just out driven 80,000 truckers from the USA....most have problems with 1 trailer.
3406e or c15 cat?
Hey guys . I see Ross uses the clutch to split and not using the method of releasing foot off the accelerator to split gears ? can this be done ?
Thank you for share your experiences 🙏🤟🏻☺️
Traktor
Krš
good video mate but not using clutch is a better option for longer clutch life
Cheers! Great explanation.
That was well done . From a truck driver, you're selling yourself short though. Good job mate.

Do today's modern trucks still come with non synchromesh transmission as an option?
Some do some don’t, depends on the manufacturer

Hella video, man. Respect! I'm also not a truck driver, just do it for a living, too. Cheers from Colorado, in the US.
