    I asked ChatGTP if triticale could be used to make beer and it said; Yes, triticale can be used to make beer. Triticale is a hybrid grain derived from wheat and rye, and it combines characteristics of both parent grains. When used in brewing, triticale can impart unique qualities to the beer's flavor profile. **Impact on Beer Flavor:** 1. **Spiciness and Earthiness**: Triticale can contribute a spicy and earthy flavor, similar to rye but often less intense. This can add complexity and depth to the beer. 2. **Maltiness**: The wheat component of triticale can enhance the malt character, contributing to a smooth and slightly sweet profile, somewhat akin to wheat beers. 3. **Body and Mouthfeel**: Triticale can add a fuller body and creamy mouthfeel due to its higher protein content, similar to what wheat does in a beer. **Potential Beer Styles with Triticale:** 1. **Saison or Farmhouse Ale**: The spicy and earthy notes of triticale would complement the fruity and peppery flavors typical of these styles. 2. **Rye Beer**: Using triticale can create a more balanced rye beer, moderating the spiciness with some wheat-like smoothness. 3. **Wheat Beer**: A triticale wheat beer would have a unique twist, combining the refreshing quality of a wheat beer with additional complexity. Overall, using triticale in brewing can result in a beer with a distinctive and intriguing flavor profile, blending the characteristics of wheat and rye in a harmonious way. Brewers looking to experiment with new grains and flavors may find triticale to be an exciting ingredient.

      @tricalforage3052 3 месяца назад

      @kennardjohnson7875, thanks for your comment! Yes, TriCal triticale can be grazed. It is one of the more popular of the uses of our products. The best time to plant for Central Texas will be mid September, or as it starts to cool off at night and you catch a little moisture. You can plant all the way through December or January if you had to. Lots of flexibility with your planting timing with triticale.

    We like winter-king rye for grazing. Super fall growth and early spring growth, it gets cattle back on pasture earlier than anything else here in Southern Mo. For mechanically harvested forage nothing will beat triticale.

      @tricalforage3052 3 месяца назад

      Thank you, @noelking7215, for your feedback. We agree that triticale is a hard to beat forage for a lot of uses. We would encourage you to try some of our newer TriCal varieties that we have released that have more vigorous fall growth than your typical triticale lines of the past. Also, with our new releases that are facultative, you have more planting flexibility and varieties that will grow faster in the spring than other triticale lines.

    Hi, I am from Poland, My country produce around 30% triticale in the whole world. In this season triticale was best choice on lower-class fields. We got around 7.5t/ha wheat compare to 8t-8.5t/ha winter triticale on even worse (avarege) class fields. The key was, that we had like 3-week drought in may, where wheat had run dry and we saw some burnouts, and on the other hand, the triticale with his long roots survived this hard time, and give us really good outcome. I am prette sure, that on this class field, 6t wheat was maximum to archive. We use triticale to feed pig, as around 20% component (50% barley, 30% wheat, 20% triticale (in our experience 30% is max you can give, but I dont recommend it) and there is no problem at all, triticale is much better than rye in this scenario. What I also like about triticale, it helps to break crop rotation without sacrificing efficiency. One thing, that is needed, is to not allow triticale grow to long, because it can be really pain in the ass to harvest if lying down. Best regards to all of you guys :)
