I come back to this video for my own personal nostalgia. The default music from the editing program is very soothing and I always wanted to make a board but was just too young and didn’t have the resources to do so. It’s nice to look back at this video every now and again

You paint prior to fiber glass and Baltic birch would be the wood you'd want to use but I want to know how much it cost to build and how long it took

If I wanted to use wood what kind?

as far as i know the fiberglass protects the wood and your aint. but that's all I know!!!

if i wanted to paint the bottom of the board would i need to do that before or after i apply the fiberglass?

I think I'd just use polyeurethane. Fiberglass takes a bit more caution when sanding.

You're gonna have some breathing problems if you keep up sanding the fiber glass without a mask.

What kind of wood is that?

No, he did give it concave. That's what the part with the car was for; as the glue was drying the weight of the car forced the wood to fit the shape of the mold he had made, and when the glue dried, the wood stayed in that shape. Plus the plywood you get at Loewe's or Home Depot or wherever has tons of non-wood fillers and therefore isn't strong or flexible enough. Also it looks like crap. I'd say he did a pretty nice job.

no, beacause not everyone like u uses them....

he used long board trucks and wheels because this is a long board not some sort of hybrid man..

there are much easier ways he could have done this. he could have just bought a piece of plywood as opposed to what he did, since he didnt give it any concave. that would have saved him time and money on fibergass and wood glue. other than that it was pretty cool.

He applied fiberglass resin and cloth because he wanted to harden the board so there was less flex. More flex equals less downhill stability...in most cases

You can do either the top or bottom of the deck although, fiberglassing the bottom will help stiffen up the board much more than fiberglassing the top.

That's a good way to make a board. The only problem is the way u did it there will be no concave.

Board seems quite thick, yet I'd rather have a hunk of wood under my feet than a piece of paper
