I have listened to Zapateado by Yitz Pearlman, Hadelich, etc.. all very excellent violinists - but Ms. Kim's rendition both this year and later on are the best I've heard. Her special brand of youthful energy and passion and her obvious joy in playing this song are what makes it so great to me! Bravo Esther!
I personally prefer Midori's performance, but Esther did an excellent job here as well, and the emotion behind her playing is very evident in many parts. :)
@rebellionVII thats the easy answer, the more intersting one is because their language is a tonal language. as in one sound or word means something different depending on how high or low your pitch is. making them hit the perfect note (or pitch) in their language, it gives them a head start.
@BrendaHolandaViolino I believe she was glancing at the pianist, who also happens to be in the direction of the camera...I think. 'Cause she's supposed to do that to make sure the accompanist is following her right. xD
@turtoy1 WOW all the finger postions?? theres like 30 of them. and yes i can play the violin and im not learning that song. upload the video of ur "sister" playing this peice. bye!
@sasusakuforevaz123 yeah she does and she turned 9 on july 21st so shut up and do u play violin? if u do i want to see you play it and upload it and i will send u a video of me or my sister. by the way y do u rite negative stuff on me bitch. so shut the fuck up and well go to hell. TTYL bitch.
@turtoy1 your 8 year old sister can play better than Esther? Can she fidle? do vibrato? learn all the finger postions? i guess not because it would take like 9 years to learn all those. so ur a bitch! mmkay bye!
@beautifulviolin Its quite amazing how many hidden violin virtuoso players eg @turtoy1 ...there is on youtube who claim to be better than the likes of Sarah Chang, Joshua Bell etc and in this case Esther Kim. As you say these unknown 'Virtuosos' are never ever seen performing in public or ever place a video of themselves on youtube, wonder why ?
You are very talented you play very well like Midori.
Perfect performance. Excellent.
2024 anyone? ☺️❤️

this recording is much more "real" than her more recent and more professional one. i think you're just being presumptuous.
talent is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

@pinkbananas21 Yes! Who was she looking at??? I couldn't pay total attention seeing she doing that! I think it was her teacher or something...
@turtoy1 WOW all the finger postions?? theres like 30 of them. and yes i can play the violin and im not learning that song. upload the video of ur "sister" playing this peice. bye!
her playing is good. But is zapateado a practice piece? Did Sarasate orinally mean it to be pracitce? Because musically, it's not that good...
