Where did you get the ramps? Also how long is the box?
@Joeyruss13 thanks for your comment! I had a local welder build my ramps for me. I showed him what I was looking for and he built them and installed them for me. The box is 8' wide and 16' long.
Does the Ferris have a stripe kit on it.
Yes, the rubber flap stripe kit mounted behind the deck.
Hey- are you in Maryland or PA? I was gonna look at one of these at Wertz
I'm in York Pa! Wertz's is great! Tell them you saw my video. Kevin is great! Ferris is a great mower, and Wertz's is a great dealer! Good luck, and let me know how you make out.
Mine has that electronic throttle, too, and you will notice if it gets wet, it’s unresponsive for a min or two.
Price? Performance on hills? Under trees? Tear grass in turns?
deck hangers are better
I think all the hanging parts the same part numbers, I'm looking to buy a 60" to replace my 61". the dealer said its a direct swap
Thanks for the review
You're welcome and thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you still shut the roll up door ??
Can you still shut the roll up door ??
Yes I can shut it. During the day I just leave it open to air everything out. Then after my last lawn I shut the door and lock it all up. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 Great idea and smart !!!
Nice!
What company makes the drop down gates, I like them, light well sprung and secure. Pull down door can stay open during the day and the truck is still secure. Nice
I had my local welder fabricator build them for me. There are companies out there that make them as well but I'd still need a welder to install them. Check with a local welder fabricator first. I like to support small local businesses like myself for most of my work. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you put out another video soon about your Ferris? We’re currently debating on getting the same one and some more insight would be great thanks!!
Hi Kaden! Thanks for watching! The answer is YES! I'll be putting up another video as I just hit the 100 hour on it and taking it in for service and a check up! I plan to get a 100 hour review video up this weekend! Keep an eye out for it!
That’s awesome!! I’m excited to see how it’s goin for you so far!
Was the chute baffle standard?
No, I had my dealer install the Grass Flap for me before buying it. I get them installed on all my mower's.
What are your thoughts on the new 60" vs the old 61"?
A much better improvement on cut quality for sure! It's amazing the difference after I cut with the new 60" ICD plus compared to my older 61" ICD deck. It's like a night and day difference. Once I hit 100 hours on it I plan to do a 100 hour review on show a cut comparison video and go over what I like and dislike about it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 that’s awesome, I look forward to the review!
New sub! I just demoed that mower and it’s beast 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for subscribing! I'm glad you were able to demo one. They are a great mower! Have a great 2024 season!
Cheap plastic deck wheels and no protection in front of engine
Never had a problem after 3 sets of these mowers👍plastic deck wheels have 900 hrs, and still fine so🤔
Who makes the ramps?
I had my local welder fabricator build them for me. I showed him some pictures of box trucks with ramps and then he built it and installed them for me and gave me a lifetime warranty. If anything goes wrong he'll fix it for free. If you're interested in getting ramps I'd check with your local welder fabricator. They'll be cheaper and do a better job and you're supporting a local business. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have a Z3X icd deck how is the new plus doing?
It's definitely an improvement. No stragglers left behind that's for sure!
can you do a blade change or bottom deck video vs the 61 difference?
$13,500 right now. Just called about one.
Nice setup
Thanks!
Hobbyist setup.
What blades are you using on that ferris??
The factory blades that came with it. I only use them, and during leaf clean-ups in the fall and spring I'll use the Oregon gator mulching blades. I've also messed around with the Scag hi lift blades, and they also work great!
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 i have the 61" deck on a snapper pro with the 37 vanguard. I have only used the blades that came with my mower. I was really curious about the scah hi lifts.
@@ronniegibson8577 they do work great however to spin those hi lifts you lose power and go through gas more. If you're ok with that then use them. I've heard some guys use 1 hi lift at their discharge side and regular blades on the other 2 spindles to help throw the grass clippings further. I never tried that yet.
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 are the sails as wide on the scags? I know the oems from ferris/snapper are pretty wide
The Scag hi lift blades are a beast of a blade. They are big and heavy. At $150 for a 3 set they definitely take care of lifting and cutting and tossing the clippings out from under your deck. Another plus to them is the bottom of your deck stays pretty clean from the force of the air.
Bummer. The 61 inch deck is amazing sad to see them cut the inch off as it does make a difference. Scags and ferris beat all my other machines usually. And i own exmarks as well but ferris has always been my top fav. Sad to see the old decks go
Actually, the new 60" ICD plus deck blows the old 61" deck away! It is cutting superb and no stragglers left behind. Apparently, from what I've heard, Ferris had to change their deck design because it was to close looking to the Exmark deck. Exmark sued Ferris and won, and that's why they changed them. It's actually better, so things happen for a reason.
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 thats not why they changed it ot was almost identical to scag not exmark. However the new design looks like exmark and exmark does 60's so idk where ya heard that from the new design is like it.
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 also my initial comment was In reference to 61' vs 60. The extra inch makes a difference.
@@ecooutdoorswww.servicedealer.co.uk/homepage/briggs-stratton-ordered-to-pay-28-8m-damages
So I’ve had three of the 61” deck and it’s the worst deck of the lot when it comes to that deck size (when compared to other companies) I’ve logged 200+ hours on every deck and I can say it sucked… discharge was terrible, it left stragglers even with brand new blades, and it always left a row between blades (and this isn’t a sharpening issue, I’ve tested this with every other mower). Supposedly the new 60” deck was made to fix those issues, not any of that lawsuit bullshit that other guy was talking about. It’s the same reason exmark now has the 60” deck, they made it cut better. I believe this involves a little more overlap of the blades rather than shortening them all down a 1/3 of an inch.
Nice setup.
Thank you!
I love Your Setup I will definitely get a box truck in future Keep up the good work 🙏
Awesome! Thank you!
where did you get the spare trimmer spool holder that is mounted on the shaft?
Ballard products for around $15. It definitely comes in handy!
where did you get the spare trimmer spool holder that's mounted on the shaft?
Ballard Products around $15 a couple years ago. It comes in handy.
Very nice
Thank you!
Congrats, To the addition 💪🏽
Thanks!
Super clean shocked to see the wood floor in the truck but its better than aluminum
hECK YEAH. i just brought home my brand new Z1 and was running it today thinking.....I need a trash container!! Simple....and effective.
Awesome! I'm glad this helped you! Congratulations on your new Z1 and have a great 2024!
Awesome thinking 😊, plus saves money too.
I can't believe it's been 6 years, wow you're awesome 👏 ❤️ 😊 Ly sis
Nice setup. Almost like my 05 isuzu box truck. I use trimmer trap though. z2 52 in and z3x 72 in. echo and sthil handhelds.
Thanks! Yeah the box truck setup is nice. I wanted an Isuzu NPR but this old Penske GMC fell into my lap and I had to get it. I figured this being my first box truck setup I'd see how I like it and run this for a couple of seasons and if it works nice I'd eventually get an Isuzu. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a great season!
nice ideas . I may try the bucket idea. A square bucket would be nice.
Thanks! They do make square buckets that may work too. As I was looking online for 2 gallon buckets some square ones popped up so that is another option. I'm thinking a black, red or gray color bucket would look perfect on it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know if do this to yours? My other buddies that run Ferris near me liked the idea that they ran out and bought buckets to hang on their Ferris mowers.
Now that's THINKING out the Box ☑️
Thank you, Sir!
Great video man!! Keep them coming! I enjoy hearing about the Ferris mowers and your thoughts about them! Great idea with the bucket! Ferris should definitely look into designing something like you talked about
Thanks!
I'll have to check out my John Deere stand on. See if that would work. For mine.
We have those same Toro trash bags on all 3 of our Z2's. They are very useful but, I agree the bags have their flaws. Let's us know how the little white bucket works out for ya 😉☝️
I liked them at first because it was better than nothing for holding trash. It's a great option but after seeing some other mowers the other day that had trash cans on their mowers I wanted to look at other options and this is what I came up with. I'll let you know how it goes.
Have you tried the wright bucket holders, or those from Spencer products? I don't hang anything on the trim sides , it gets hit on side hills with fences and as you say blocks the view of the edge of the deck.
@firstname6208 I have looked into the Wright mower's trash kits and they're around $100/$140 for their bag or bucket kits. This $5 bucket works for me. I actually got the idea from seeing the Wright mowers trash kits. I'm hoping Ferris sees this video and comes up with something similar. It's a perfect spot for a trash bucket right behind the battery shelf. It'd also be nice if not just Ferris but other brands point the exhaust pipes to blow out the same direction as the decks discharge chutes. Having the exhaust pipes pointing towards the trim side hurts the bushes or hedges with the heat.
I bolted a bicycle bottle holder aft of the battery box and keep an aerosol fire extinguisher on every mower. Puzzle mat on the foot platform. I bolted a chain saw scabbard on the r frame rail, keep a hand saw in there for those nasty branches that hang in the way. The ballard stander seat on the 61". Engine aire precleaner on everything.
Nice setup,I’m in the market for a similar setup. What ramp did you go with or did you have someone build them?
Thanks! The box truck setup is definitely nice. I had my local welder fabricator design and build my ramps. I showed him what I was looking for and he came up with what I have there. He gave me a lifetime warranty so if anything happens to them I just take it to him and he'll fix it. All the ramps online for sale I'd still have to get a welder to attach it to my truck so why not just have a local welder build one for me. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great 2024!
Do mowers need to be that cool…. No. Do I fucking love it? Yes.
And this one is bad ass!
Super clean setup. Much better than dragging a trailer around.
Thanks! Yeah, I don't miss those days!
Very clean and organized. I would love to get away from hauling a trailer everyday.
Thanks!
Did they redesign all their decks or is it just the 60" ?
I believe it's only the 60" deck that they redesigned.
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 gotcha 😉👍
@@JsCrazyCutzLLCat the moment just the 60”. I believe new 52” and 72” versions are in the works as we speak

Awesome setup 💯💪👍 We run a trailerless setup and Ferris mowers as well 😏☝️ Do a follow up on that new 60" for us!
Thanks man! I'll definitely do a review follow-up probably around 100 hours when it's do for it's break in check up. Have a great season!
Amazing, love it😮😊
Thanks Inga!
Nice setup. How long have you been in business? I gave a 14 foot box truck, ram. I love it.
Thanks! I'm going into my 9th season in business. I had the idea for mowing in 2015 and I started as a side hustle in the spring of 2016. After 2 seasons of working both my full-time job and this side hustle I decided to go full-time in 2018. I love it and don't think I'll ever work for someone else again. I love my freedom too much running my own business.
@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 that's so cool. I definitely understand. Starting my 23rd year. I hope you have a blessed year.
