400 Cummins & single drive would equate to low level flying

Put a 14 litre Cummins in most things in its day was brilliant

Never drove one of these, but was told they had a reputation for being over thirsty. Still looks good, mind.

They were bloody excellent trucks much better engineerd than your Usaual British truck of the period they drove better and were more refined can't understand why they weren't a roaring success

Drove one of these in the early 80s on hire from ryders truck rental bright yellow had the detritus engine short stick 4 over 4 box fully loaded tilt no problem beast

Had one of these for two weeks back in 85. 290 cummins, fuller roadranger. It was a beast. Boss had it on rental/demo. Was a truck that could've made a difference to uk haulage. Timing, cost, availability. I don't know why it didn't make headway. I wasn't happy when it was returned but..... I was blessed with a scania 142.🤔🤔🤔with all the toys. Bedford was still a lovely truck and I would've been happy to keep it. Felt right, like it was just right. One of the BEST

We have seen several years heavy haulage truck configurationans of the FAUN in conventional and cabover of the Van Twist - Big-Lift company. They serviced well, with good maintenance and experienced People. Later these configurations became owned by Mammoet and later sold to South European as well as Arabian companys. Nowadays the newer and compact trucks from Titan / Mercedes SCANIA and so on are used world-wide. These trucks have 6x4, 6x6, 8x4, 8x6, 8x8, 10x4, 10x6 and 10x8 drive lines up to 700, 750, 770, 800 hp. and so on. Keep well and drive with your brains and your professionals as a team. Good luck. In 1968 i was 16yr old i spent next 2 yrs driving a matador dump truck in a quarry for £12 per week the quarry floor was very rough had quite a few broken springs and halfshafts i still have 2 bent thumbs from them days

I drove one of these at Larton Dairy Wirral in the 70's, the sliding door was useful as you could drive around with it open just have to be careful it didn't take your arm off when stopping which was not always an option available to your foot.. The three speed column shift was handy as it had so much slop when you dipped the clutch the gear lever would drop by its own weight into third. Good van a rather peppy but the cab always smelt of unburnt fuel and the lights tripped out when on main beam for to long. Good times.
