The second one knows the power of religious fanaticism.
1:46
in the second version we see not a duke, but a stupid child who has risen to power
Chalamet’s Muad’Dib strikes me as the type to command drums made of his enemies skins (something he does between the first and second books)
1984: Speaks of a storm that will shake the universe 2024: IS THE STORM SHAKES THE FUCKING UNIVERSE
They did it, they all gone mad
Frank Herbert failed to convey his message because Paul is a superhuman that gets the things done. People shout "fanaticism" and how terrifying this scene is yet the author put the fremen in the most miserable situation, in the verge of their extintion. What can they do? Talk? Vote? Be reasonable while they are colonized and hunted? This speaks well of books and movies tho. They convey multiple contradictory messages and meanings.
E Rudhi Dina, heshidhanii: ne Lisaan al-Gayib. Ruyi dimala ruk a- SHIDHGIM. The other guys delivery is so bad he never really stood a chance. There were plenty of examples of how charismatic leaders deliver speeches. Kyle maclachlan must have ignored all of them.
The actor in the first one would have negative charisma if he was a fallout character. No one is following that guy.
I will say, the 1984 (literally) version actually doesn’t seem bad. Seems like it’s pretty decent. But 2024 is a masterpiece.
That scene from dune part 2 gives me chills🔥
One is soo white washed, and the Latest version..seems more authentic
Tatakae!
The 1984 version is superior -
Lol utterly shit troll take 😂
I liked the 1984 version better in every way. Yeah, I know. In the books, he's a kid, but the new version just made me feel like I was watching space Harry Potter. That kid annoys me for some reason.
Yet some describe the resent iteration as a master piece,,,,, There is FAR more talent that has suffered the ugly of society to be reduced to failure than there is in examples of recent success! We all lose for the lack of vision of those in power......including them..... As is the lack of creative variation and visionary investments of effort that is now the precedent tomorrow will inherit!!!! Humanities biggest issue is that stupid isn't stupid until its seen as stupid by all the people that once saw it as clever! it ensures foolish investments of effort sustain well past their sell by date......!
"I promise i wont get political" *After one shot:*
1984: nice 2024: FOR THE LISAN AL GAIB!!
There is no comparison really...
oNee-san al ghaib!!!
The 1984 one feels like a generic good guy speech, the new one feels like the 2nd coming of Christ is speaking.
Father! The sleeper has awakened!
Dune 2 got me ready to give my life for Paul’s jihad. I don’t even care if dune is a cautionary tale. He’s my lisaan al-ghaib.
The inclusion of a made up language was brilliant. But this wasn't about the language or the studio effects. It was all about the delivery. The acting on Dune '24 was superb.
Dune 1984 speech seems to be of higher vibration and from a place of standing in one’s destiny and power. Kyle(actor who plays Paul) seems lighter and higher vibration. The new dune seems like a false prophet type of speech. Even Timothée(actor who plays Paul in the new film)seems a lot more darker energetically. I had a hard time listening to his speech as it came across satanic to me.
I have now seen the Lynch and Villeneuve movies and the Harrison miniseries. Now I finally have to read the book.
I’m sorry. This is just my opinion I’ve always found the Lynch version of Dune ridiculous. Put side by side with this new version which is an adult science fiction masterpiece, the Lynch only suffers more. Granted, they could not do the level effects accomplished in the Villeneuve version. But that’s far from an excuse. Both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi existed when Lynch made his Dune so there was a level of ability they didn’t even try to accomplish.
Don't forget Blade Runner was already 2 years old by the time the original Dune came out. There were plenty of good movies in the 80s. Lynch's Dune isn't one of them.
1984 film had a better soundtrack, fight me! (Draws crysknife)
1984 Paul was pretty much giving classic hero speech, while 2024 Paul seems more like a predator going for the kill. I just love how he started his speech saying "There's no one here that can stand against me!" Really, that was something that I was not expecting
Yeah. No. For me the 1984 film was just - better.
The second clip!!! Now that is someone taking advantage of peoples ignorance!
"Eh, the first clip was kinda okay I guess, I dont knooOOOOH UNDER THE BLUE SEA OR SOMETHING!!!!"
Both Pauls came to the conclusion to not be part of the problem… 1984: by solving the problem 2024: by becoming the ENTIRE problem
The sad truth is neither captured the magic of the books. Those books have fascinated generation after generation after generation, each obsessed with making their own vision of it. Dune has been made as a major production three times now. There will be a fourth. Because nothing can compare to the books. (also the new movies fucked some of the best characters up hard for the sake of pandering to a modern audience, so if you hated Chani in the movies definitely read the books).
Dune deserves to be a Game of Thrones style tv series on HBOmax.
Adult vs child Paul
I know I know different times, diferents movies. But the new movie oblirates the first one. I know that all about movies has improved sustancially. But the voice and acting skills its on another level.
The second one gives you goosebumps
Dune (1984): What 60s readers think Paul is. Dune Parts One & Two: Frank Herbert's vision.
Lisan al Gaib
Oh man I can’t wait for Tom Holland to play Leto Atreides the 2nd!!!!! He’ll kill it as god worm emperor
I think this scene most clearly shows how much better DV's Dune films are. And it's even more impressive when you compare the *full scenes* side by side. In Lynch's full scene, the Fremen are already won over and it's mostly saber rattling. In DV's full scene, Paul transforms before your eyes and you can actually see why the Fremen would follow him. But unfortunately, this edit seems to be playing up the Chani/Zendaya hate by focusing on her. 😐
That was not my intention 😐 Copyright boundaries made me shorten the edit…
Lynch is such a shit director wrapped in pretention.
He's NOT the messiah. He's a VERY NAUGHTY BOY!
I've seen the 2nd movie about 4 times now, and the last 30ish minutes still get my heart pumping.
Chani’s problem is Denis altered her character from the book to stand in for the audience to drive home Paul is a villain. In the book, she was big time Team Paul. The book takes place over years. Paul and Chani already had children who were murdered by the Harkonnens during their attack on seitch Tablr. Denis could have kept her the same and still it would have been clear Paul is bad news for the Freman. Regardless, Paul knew he was using the people he had grown to love, but it was the only way to save humanity. Denis’ change of Chani’s character really makes a mess of the storyline in Dune Messiah.
Well, there was no guarantee messiah would’ve been greenlit. That said, I’m sure they have a plan to fix this.
Didn't saw this in theater but 2024 Version is literally like 'How to turn people into extremists today.' 🤨
I watched the 1984 movie and so i wasn't expecting much from the speech in part 2 but then timothee turned caps lock on and my guts got all icy
Love the description 😂
Some scenes the 1980s movie did better. For example when Paul silence's the head bene gesserit it's pretty tame and short in the Villeneuve version while in the Lynch version it's much more aggresive in tone and speech when Paul shouts: "SILENCE!! I remember your gom jabbar. Now you remember mine. I can kill with a word". ruclips.net/video/FLbNrYdRtl4/видео.html
Chalamet looks badass in 2nd movie. Love the character development.
